    Geoff," How do we break the reactors?" Layne, "Toss in a violin?" (Voiceplay literally tosses in a violin, and breaks all the reactors, should be a Guiness record)

      Geoff wanted it to look like the violin came out of thin air. I'd say they accomplished that very well. Amazing how they did that though. Layne's idea. A reverse in the video. He's actually throwing it instead of catching it.

      @morganring8385I thought it was Eli too. It sounds like a note Eli could/would hit. However, it very well could be Cesar. For the longest time, I thought Eli hit the super high note in Dream On until I watched him and realized that, when he sings high, he moves his hands and/or arms up and he doesn't do that in Dream On. Mason: Layne has played violin since grade school. That particular violin, not so much. It’s a cheap one for looks, not for sound. You can see him play more on their Warriors video, but again, the electric violin he used was for video. He did the actual recordings on his own personal instrument. You can see him playing that in some videos he made with his family on his personal channel. Or even better - see if you can find his video One Dance!
    Mortius: Maybe next time you’ll pay more attention to your comments. Sometimes they’re for your own protection!

    Of course I listen to the Outro. I listened to all 32 minutes and 49 seconds. With all the energy you put into your reactions, the least I can do is put in a little effort and watch all the way to the end! I think this cover may actually be their best one to date. The long intro, singing all of the instruments that Metallica used to set the mood; the varied and nuanced vocal leads; the superb arrangement; the bass and percussion and the freaking vioLayne; and then the crowning touch: Eli let the rock god out. And...and...how can Cesar go from that breathy fragility to that perfectly controlled scream just before the violin toss? Amazing variety throughout, and yet it the whole is coherent, ending with that seamless transition that you talked about. Crazy good original song , masterful arrangement, flawless interpretation. VoicePlay at their best.

    I wonder if Metallica has heard this yet, I wonder what James would think of what Geoff has done with the arrangement. I think he would dig it.

    I watch your outros... I've always called it being 'wonderfully winded'. (That strange rush you get when a fantastic roller coaster pulls into the station and the restraint lifts...) (You're not alone brother.) Love your vids.

    No one seems to hear and/or notice this delicious harmony of Geoff and the others on "all these things I don't just see" (around 17:10 in this video)...

    I’ve heard from people that have access to the VP patreon chat that it was Eli on the top note during the scream and that Geoff had actually not asked him to sing it that way, he just did it.

      Can confirm. I was in the chat with Cesar last night and specifically asked about that note. It’s Eli. 😊

    Mortius, please take care of yourself! As someone with bad knees myself...I feel your pain. I believe Geoff hits E1 on his low notes in this and love how he kinda cues you in to it with his hand. I watched the original video by Metallica after their cover and Layne is doing the violin part based off the guitar solo in the original.

  • @eiricmacbean
    @eiricmacbean ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It broke you. I hope you're back together soon! Yes, Layne actually does play. J.None also plays some on Warriors. I had to wait a while before watching your reaction, because I was worried that *I* wouldn't be able to handle it! Go take a rest, you earned it!
