I think that the one hour a day her going to a class with her peers and a teacher is great. It teaches her independence and being away from the parents with her peers for a bit is a very good thing.
Thank you. Great podcast!! I am a mom of a 14 & 16 yo and totally feel your nervousness of changes and next steps. TRUST yourself and your partner decisions when it comes to the girls. Lean into the girls growth. Give yourself permission to make a choice in the moment and to shift if needed. You are growing as a parent as your children are growing as humans. TRUST ❤You are killing it!!
Just found y’all (thanks algorithm)! Immediately went and ordered my first yarns from you. As a mom who knits/crochets with MY kids, I love it here. Can’t wait to play with your yarn.
Public Service Announcements are the best!! Thank you so much for them. Chelsea that quote is so amazing. Thank you.
Hey Pals! Chels, I love the click cue when you pop something on the screen. I have you on while working, and that sound gets my attention every time :)
I just ordered your skittles sock color and came In today I’m In love thank you love your podcast you guys are so relaxing to listen too u remind me of me and my mother in-law thank you
What a lovely podcast today So agree with you about Martha Stewart. Home keeping and creativity have many avenues and rewards.
Thank you so much for providing Hanukkah advents. I'm SO excited!
Another lovely podcast ladies! I also feel like I have to “earn” rest and making time. I have to remind myself that slowdown is good. On Saturday afternoon our weather was spectacular so I sat down outside with my knitting and my husband joined me (with sitting, not knitting!) and we talked for almost 3 hours! It was exactly what my soul needed!
Be happy that she is going to go to school. You will be amazed how she changes and what she learns. She will have a social life which was what made me sad.😂😂. She’s going to have a great time. It is so exciting. When they go to high school is when it’s bad as they are growing away from us. Beautiful throw!
I just love you all so much. Those were perfect PSA. I can relate so much to a lot you had to say. I just had a huge move and man I have been in my head. Also you all have the best little shop and are always quick and wonderful to work with 🥰. Thanks ladies for a wonderful episode
Being 53, born and raised in the south, in TN I think it's the same everywhere. My husband is from Southern California and knowing his family and friends from there, I feel confident saying that. We are all more alike than not lol
It's so nice to have the time. Have a great week guys! - Kimberly
I live in Pennsylvania, and I always have my married life I felt o had to be busy working in my home when all of my work was caught up up I could sew. It was totally self inflicted, my husband was the most accommodating to me, never in 56 years did he suggest that I should be doing house tasks. He loved to se what I created.. best guy ever and he passed away 9 months ago. I still think I need to earn my knit, sew time…no on to answer to but me…
A very enjoyable podcast ,this is my entertainment and me time now..
Best foodball: jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon! Sub in goat cheese for cream cheese to elevate. From a life-long Southerner… I think it’s more a personality type to want to work, work, work and then rest. Not everyone is built that way, but most are I think.
I have been watching you for ages and ages .. way before Chelsea married …..I live in wales uk …. When I see you two pop up I do a little dance … I have four kids (all grown up) two girls two boys ….. and it’s just like getting together with my girls …. We laugh so much and remember nothing!! I now have my first granddaughter and so have even more in common with you. Thank you so much for podcasting …. Love you guys xx❤
You are doing the right thing! I pray you get some peace! We do live in a very different world, you can do this. I home educated all three of my children and it was worth it!! Diane in SC P.S. I am a pre-K teacher!
I totally understand where you are both coming from. I’m the mother who always worried about when kids were at school so happy when they had a day off and enjoyed summer so much. Now I’m the grandma who always worries. I think it’s all the stuff we see on tv and also know of situations that we have seen in the past. My daughter is a third grade teacher we live in NC now originally from NJ . Christine always has the classroom theme of LILO and Stitch, and the saying that means we are all family. We have spent the past two weeks getting her class prepared for the start of school tomorrow. Last Thursday night was back to school night so students and parents can meet their child’s new teacher. She called me on the way home all her students from last year came to her class to give her a hug. So many parents thanking her for the wonderful teacher she is. One little boy from last year started to well up with tears . His mom said we had this conversation before you can’t cry. The mom told Christine he wants to be with you again this year. She has helped so many children and is very kind people always request her. She had the least amount of kids absent in the entire school last year. She said she was told by administration that her room is warm and welcoming. So try not to show worry because kids are good at picking stuff up like that. Hoping your daughter has a teacher who is like my daughter who has a good heart and truly there for the students. Best of luck!
Thanks for sharing the love! You guys are the best. Oh, side note...it literally WAS a tent in the forest this time around. The days were great. The nights were...wet... I don't necessarily think it's a New England thing to "earn" your rest. I definitely fall into that camp. And heck, even then I sometimes feel guilty for not getting more done first. I have spent the last 8 or so years trying to unlearn the behaviours that were drilled into me for the first many decades of my life. It's hard work, and a work in progress. But I don't think it's a regional thing. I think it has more to do with family dynamics.
When I set down to knit or Needlepoint, it seems I have to accomplish something first! Like it's a reward! Even if it gets exciting packages in the mail, have to look around to do something! lol A Witch in training is the best!!
I had that ringing bit in my ear a few years ago, was tested etc. It went away on its own! It's annoying, especially at nite!!
Working on my Cozy Comfort Throw, and love it!! Halloween socks too, on the go! "Hocus Pocus! "
“I’m a witch in training”, I love that so much! Thanks for sharing!
Tinnitus. Sorry, talking to the TV . Love you both so much on a relaxing Sunday. Just chilling. 😎☺️
We went and saw the Bill Maher show. Turned out to be a rehearsal show. To try it on a live audience. It was fun.
HOGS IN A SLEEPING BAG. You cut sausage or hot dogs fancy long cuts then take 3 squares of puff pastry lay it down on on one put the dog on top crimping it 3/4 around. Then the top fold down a little like a sleeping bag. So good
Hi Ladies: Love your podcast! Me too, I have to earn my rest everyday! Me and friend has the same sentiments! Glad to hear we are not the only ones that has the same motto! There’s always so much to do. However, we must take time to rest and recharge.
Thank you very much for sharing! Hope your girls have a wonderful, lovely school year! ❤
We are so the same. You make me feel better. We are not the only one. Love you ladies! Good luck with school!❤❤
Fellow New Englander but I too feel like I need to *earn* my rest. On weekends I have a hard time just leaning into being slow and making even though I could totally make that choice 🤷🏻♀️
❤ homemade popcorn and tortilla chips, guac and sour cream 🎉 So ready for Seahawks football. 😢 Sad WNBA Seattle Storm is almost over. Fingers 🤞 crossed we make it into the finals. Women's basketball is soooo amazing. Keeping getting better every year. 🏀 🏈 🏀🏈🏀🏈.
Oh my gosh, I'm so glad that you talked about not wanting to sleep to long because it cuts into your creative time. I have a hard time sleeping between 1 and 3 in the morning. I either get up and knit on a vanilla sock or work in a zentangle book that I'm creating. I put on TH-cam where it's just instrumental until I am so sleepy I can't hold my head up. I can then get back in bead and fall asleep. Does anyone else do this?
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
To add to your list for the 3rd, its also my birthday! Lol!
Sue you made me laugh out loud. When chelsea went upstairs and you said public service announcement. Then she came back. You looked so guilty. Lol
I live in Missouri, I have always felt I need to earn my rest.
My father in law is in his 60s and has that chronic ringing in his ears too. I couldn’t imagine how terrible is must be
Due to my health I I can do is rest a lot so therefore I feel really guilty for not able to do more
