Marcotti has this weird bitterness and superiority complex towards Switzerland where he can't give them full credit because he can't accept the fact that a tiny neighbor country has surpassed the mighty Italy at this sport. He's become pretty much unlistenable with Italy's downfall.
What, because he's not completely writing off England altogether and considering the game lost before it's even played? I think he's right. England's not that bad. They won their group, they won today. They could beat Switzerland with ease. I wouldn't bet the farm on it. But this is not some walkover for Switzerland. I realized against Germany that Switzerland was legit. Germany was very lucky to pull a draw there. With how slow Italy was, I knew they would get wacked. England aren't playing much better and are very lucky to go through. I think Switzerland will do the same to England. His point is that England are better and all things being equal should defeat them. Whether they do or not remains to be seen. Luciano Spalletti is a worse Manager than even Southgate so Italy's tactical setup and personel ruined them. Plus some disharmony in the Dressing Room.

I have a feeling England are going to fluke their way into the final where they will meet the weakest team in the other half of the draw that also flukes their way into the final. After 120 minutes the final will remain goalless and England will win on penalties when the last opposition player to take a penalty slips as he kick the ball which trickles off the spot and doesn't even make it as far as Pickford.

all the england players need to do is pass the switzerland defence and its pretty straight forward from there in England v slovakia foden scored but it was offside then jude and harry and then another england player nearly scored but it hit the post maybe if saka or jude was there it could have been a goal making it 3-1 so ye.

Switzerland always plays excellent against big teams. England is a big clueless team. That is just perfect for Switzerland. They love to play against teams who have much more pressure because of their name.
Italy did switzerland a huge favor by taking it easy on them. Italy never pressed the Swiss so the Swiss should be very well rested. In a way the match against Italy was like a rest day for them. So I will be very surprised and shocked if switzerland don't beat England especially after England had the more tiring and taxing round of 16 matchup that went into extra time where they barely beat Slovakia and Slovakia is a weaker team than switzerland is.
