The save folder in GarlicOS has CHANGED. It is now on the same card or drive as your ROMS. ROMS - Saves - Current Profile. The saves need to be in a folder named the same as the emulator they run on in RetroArch and inside that current profile folder.

I like miniUi on my miyoo mini. I love how you get your save and load options by just pressing the menu bottom. No extra steps. I hope they port miniUi over to rg35xx. I prefer it over onion os
Yeah I tried for a day and 1/2 I couldn’t get it to work from an fesh image on a new sd card. I had to image stock os then use the copy paste overwrite … it’s the only thing that worked. It’s worth noting if ya upgrade to a larger sd card ya need to extend the partion and name it ROMS making it fat32 the copy your roms ya backed up from the original os sd card or others you added into the folders

@@johnpaolosison2883 this method is only copy and paste. you can use balena to backup your stock image but in this method you're not using it to write anything. i think you're confusing with retro game corps method of fresh install which is way more confusing but still doable.
Can you connect a 8bitdo bluetooth controller when u put in the 8bitdo receiver in the rg35xx? and if yyes can you connect 2 or more controller via the dongle?

So can anyone confirm if N64 works on RG35XX? The linked page you have said it does. Other places say it doesnt. Because N64 is 64 bit which requires a bit more hardware.
Thanks for the tutorial video that was very handy, I found the stock OS serviceable but wanted something a little more. Garlic OS I think is much better but still has a way to go.
Seems about right. My issue is that the time between it actually powering off and me hitting the power button as long enough to have some significant battery drain.

Yes, that is the purpose of that version. I would assume you would just use win32diskimager and write it to it just like you would the stock image. If that fails, you can also flash the stock image linked and then use the copy/paste version.
I was setting my binds inside of the config, long story short I accidentally messed up every bind and now I cannot navigate the menu with the d-pad/play any games. Is there a way to reset/fix all bindings if none of them work properly.

so i have the stock firmware i just got my system and i am tryin to play a GBA game called goku buus fury and it says " game will not play on this hardware" how can i fix this??
Everytime I have tried downloading the garlic.img, the file is corrupt? Went ahead and tried it anyway, doesn't boot or anything. I got my RG35XX like a week ago maybe? 30 mins after playing, screen went static, shut off, has yet to come back on. It did, one time, pop up with the battery indicator, I plugged it in and it "charged." After I unhooked it and tried booting it again, nothing has came back on since. I unplugged the battery for a bit but no luck. I have a new sim and all the stuff but I am having no luck. Literally my first time trying to get into the retro handhelds and have had only issues. Any advice?
16gb for OS (unless you want to have dual OS) and the ROM can be as big as you like but I think 125gb is plenty. Remember to format the ROM card as FAT32.
It's my first time with this. I don't know what I moved, but the joystick only works in the home menu, it doesn't work in games or in the settings menu. What to do?

Just wanna clarify, so for a new sd card, do you use win32diskimager as well to create the same partitions as the stock os? then u just flash the second link from BlackSeraph correct?
One of the two links on Patreon *should* be the image to flash with win32diskimager, no coppy/paste needed. I haven't gone this route though. You could also download the official image, flash that and then use the copy/paste version.
Thanks for the guide! The device has 2 micro SD card Slots but it seems like you're only using one micro SD card in this guide. Just confirming, will my OS and roms all be on the same card? Is the second SD card slot not utilised?
In this video I stuck with one card because that's how it came. That being said, you can pop in a second card and simply create a folder called ROMs and put all your games in there and it will load off of them just fine.
Typical of any experience I have with tech. Running into problems with Step 1. Why can't I unzip the file? I've tried WinRAR and 7zip... it says "unexpected end of data"
Since this guide the files have gotten too big to be uploaded to patreon so the make has split them. Download 001 and 002 to the same folder, right click 001 and extract.

If you're overwriting a file that's already on the card, you can delete that file first before moving the new stuff over. Just don't delete anything that you aren't about to overwrite.

I believe some of the folders have changed names. In the stock os, Playstation was PS1, in GarlicOS it's PS. When you did the install there should have been folders with the correct names, you just need to move the roms into the correct folders if the name changed.
If you're using a new card of that size, the simplest thing to do is to flash the stock image from anbernic and then adjust the ROMS partition to use the unused space and then use the copy version of GarlicOS. So for some reason Pokemon emerald won't launch bot my other Pokemons will. Is it maybe the bios file? (It flashes when starting shows the black screen with white text and then goes to recent games)
@@shanecraigtech I ended up just replacing the rom. Guessing it was a messed up game state or something (I copied it over from the SD card that came with the device.) Works fine now 🤷
At the moment it does PS1 and below, same as the stock firmware, difference is that it will run smoother on garlicos/retroarch and you will have more control of settings. N64 and a few others are possible with the level of hardware in the device, and the retroarch cores are available, but until a way to access the GPU for hardware accelerated rendering is found, they aren't possible yet. A few possible fixes have already been presented in the retro handhelds discord though (along with people continuing to ask Anbernic to release it themselves), so I'm hopeful that something will come eventually.

Oh dear, not sure why you deleted anything off your card. You only needed to copy files over the top and then move your saves. I think sleep mode works by creating a save state and powering down, then auto loading that state once powered back on

7zip wont unzip the copy and past file. what am i doing wrong ?

A lot of issues here. No game icons, no system icons, some folders doesn't work. Waiting for bug corrections :)
Game artwork got added yesterday in some capacity. It's a WIP that is moving very fast. Fast forward is also now fixed.

The consoles have to be specific folder names found inside the ROMS partition. Have you changed any of the names? NES is FC, SNES is SFC, etc, etc.

I love retro games, but this is my first experience with such a handheld, And that's why I don't understand a lot of things😞
It does not let me copy the files to the misc folder because it says that "it does not have enough space".
Any file that you're about to copy over that is going to overwrite a file that's already there can be deleted prior to moving them.

I installed galicOS 1.34 on my card how do i update to 1.38

You just copy the new files over the old. It's the same process.

Take a file like "uImage" and since you're about to replace it anyways, just delete it from your MISC drive and then copy everything over.

Garlic OS is still unstable and has no dedicated shut down menu. I've already had to deal with a softlocked system.
