    No low profile tires? Great! Hate those up here in the north with all the pot holes.

    You are the first place that has ever shown the base's dual-screen setup. It's not even on the web site.

      I try to research all of the trims, I think other channels would benefit from checking the trim spec sheets listed in brochures or online! I also recommend that people check them out before buying as well.

    After looking at all the options - Nissan, Toyota, VW, Honda, etc. - we settled on the 2020 Legacy. So far we really like it. A few minor irritations, such as the requirement to have to disable the auto start-stop function every time you start up (as mentioned in the video), but overall the car is everything we want, and it looks great to boot (other than the wheels, which don't do anything for me at all). We're happy!

      2022 legacy owner. Getting started in the Legacy is something like flying a small aircraft check list. I like the Legacy much but the branch menu control center I don't like much.

    The auto start/stop button has been moved to the bottom of the home screen by a software update. All you have to do is reach over and press it just like it was a physical button on the dash like other cars. So yeah, no going through menus to find it now.

    I just picked up a 2021 Touring XT in that blue color yesterday. I love the interior, the exterior is kind of "OK" (a bit plain), but I fit in it so well as a tall driver that's OK. The seats have an adjustable pull out thigh support that makes all the difference with my long legs (same height as you). There is a bit of a learning curve with the car. The "quick start" guide is 150 pages long.😄 The safety features are incredible, but tbh I've disabled all of them save for forward collision mitigation, blind sport monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. All the lane keep assist and driver awareness stuff is a little too much. I don't need it nagging me to pay attention.

    Hmm this refresh actually looks pretty clean. That screen is also really Kool, Subaru is stepping their styling game up 👍🏾 👍🏾

      I know, it's understated but clean and modern at the same time, thanks for the feedback!

    I agree the auto start/stop is terrible. I wonder if you could at least turn it off using a voice command so that you don't have to wade through the menus on the infotainment screen.

    How did you get 0 to 60 in 8.6 sec. I own the exact same car and it sweats to get there in 9.3 sec minimum

      Brake torque, 700-800 ft elevation, AC off, level, smooth ground! I test all of my cars in the same place and usually I can get close to the manufacturer time there. Subaru said 8.4 seconds but they probably got that at sea level with a horse jockey as a driver😂

    I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like most of the changes they made from the sixth generation. Yes, the global platform and reduction in noise is nice and the exterior is actually very nice to look at it. But the interior, where most people seem to be praising it, is where I checked out. Baking the climate controls into the screen was a mistake (yes it has some physical buttons but the majority of the control is on the screen). I do small electronic repair, and that screen will be a nightmare to repair; it's too big and just begging to be a distraction for novice drivers. The previous generation at least kept all climate separate from the screen so when it does fail, at least you can still cool and heat the car. The menu options are not that intuitive and options are buried. The algorithm used to switch profiles is janky as well, and touch reception responsiveness and accuracy leaves much to be desired.
    I know I'm a minority, but I'm very glad I picked up a '19 when I did, catching the Legacy at the end of product cycle and therefore being a little more 'generationally mature'. There were a multitude of other tiny features that they removed or changed in the '20, that by themselves don't really matter but once you add them up it can be a big deal. I like the large compartment that can hide wires and such beneath the screen, the simple and straightforward design of the vents, the color coordination of the dash, and the small and unobtrusive multimedia screen of the sixth generation. But again, this is all subjective so I guess to each their own. This is a first run for Subaru so we'll have to see how it plays out over the rest of the generation.
    Very nice in depth review by the way!

    Can you hear the boxer engine growl in the cabin?

      If you're accelerating moderately but it's pretty subtle or nonexistent depending on speed and incline

    Put the defogger on. The autostart stop will be overriden.

    • @countrymountaintrade
      @countrymountaintrade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Go into the settings and set the rear defogger to continuous. (so it doesn't time out) and hit the rear defrost hard button to disable auto stop/start.

    But it is CVT

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback, It is, but if fun is your concern, the legacy doesn't satisfy in many other regards. The CVT is smooth and responsive so it fits the bill for this kind of car, you know? If the CVT is an issue, then you'd probably want a sportier car anyway!

    Another review says the car remembers the auto onoff.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That person is wrong, most likely. There is a chance that Subaru updated it but I have not seen a auto stop system in any car yet that permanently shuts off. It's very easy to make a mistake like that in a video, though. I work at a Subaru dealership so I interact with these things all the time. I'm definitely going to check again just because.

      @@jarrodporter9278 I live in Vancouver, my 2020 Canadian Legacy GT definely does not save Auto Shutoff between ignitions. It also doesn't save Auto Vehicle Hold. I am forced to adjust both of those settings every time, takes about 25 seconds.

      I have one and it does not , even after I updated the software recently , That I was hoping to get that feature . so far I love the car except for that , so if they does not fix that , I will not have another subaru.

    Head and tail lights are fussy but with no real identity.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't know if I, myself neccesarily agree with that, I think the taillights seem a little out of place but I think they look cool. But, that's a good way to describe the rear taillights of the new Forester!
