The Subaru Logo on the mirror lights up when you approach with the key fob, and is juuuuuust bright enough to shine a light on the door handle. A subtle thing, but appreciated at night.
*edit* The "gaping hole" in the center console is perfectly shaped to hold a phone. I set it there when using Android Auto.

Also that same light it illuminates the curb when you backup by turning the mirrors down automatically

Hate glossy piano black. Don't know why so many auto makers use it. A nice brushed metal look would be so much better looking and easier to keep clean. Oh, and I will never use the heated steering wheel or heated seats - live in California. I will absolutely use the ventilated seats in my new Touring XT (US market name for the GT trim)! I purposely shopped for a sedan. I'm one of the few drivers who doesn't want an SUV or pickup. One of the benefits during this time of chip shortages and limited inventories is that dealers will still "deal" on sedans since they aren't as popular.

We got a 2020 Legacy exactly 1 year ago today. We liked the safety ratings, conservative styling, and big touchscreen. We got 212,000 miles out of our old Hyundai Sonata so we will see how this car does.

Nice review. I just purchased a slightly used legacy premium that just came out of its lease. Old lady who only put 6000 miles on it had it. The premium I have is pretty well optioned though, the only things it seems to be missing from the limited is the leather seats, led fog lights (does have halogen), rear break assist, heated steering wheel, seat presets, power passenger seats, rear heated seats and the Harmon karden audio system. Honestly, the only thing I wish it had is the upgraded audio. As for the auto start/stop feature it does turn on by its self every time you start the car but you don’t have to dig in the menu to turn it off. I’m not sure if that was an update or it exists in this review but there is a button near the heated driver side seat button on the Home Screen where you can quickly turn it off if it bothers you

Though I'm a sucker for new tech, I opted for a 2020 Forester Sport. On my test drive with a 2020 Legacy, I was fumbling too much with the 11" touchscreen controls.

Another irk, the USB ports are extremely difficult to access given that narrow opening with no cover. It’s true, at least in USA, start/stop resets to on when car is restarted. I hate start/stop, but would hate it less if the switch was on the main screen.

    • @albertsilver195

Great review. Just picked up a 2020 legacy and I had to turn off eye sight a few times. It gets confused during heavy snow. Hit the brakes when I had a snow chunk fly up in front of the car.

I'm going to purchase another new Subaru for my daughter. She wants a sedan. We own a,2018 Impreza 5 door. We would get another Impreza, but we are not happy with the 2.0. So, we are considering a legacy. The base is fine, but she would like an upgrade sound system and a wheel package. We will see.BUT, it WILL be a subaru.

Auto Start/Stop reverts to default on, and Auto Vehicle Hold reverts to default off every time you restart, on my 2020 Legacy GT. It's annoying. Great car though.

Can you at least disable auto start/stop using a voice command instead of going through the touchscreen menus? Also, are you noticing any oil consumption issues so far?

    • @jeffmorse645
      @jeffmorse645 3 ปีที่แล้ว

A software update moved it to the main screen at least so you don't have to go through several menus to get to it. If it has to default to "on" at least its not a pain now to switch it off.

  • @jamessimonds7362

Put Harmon Karden in all trim levels. At least make it available.Naybe put it in a package. It would be nice to have a package for it and a wheel package in a base model.

That’s interesting about the start stop. I have heard from a lot of reviewers that u have to deactivate the stop start stop feature every time you start up the car. Hope you are right because that would be a huge Irk for me in purchasing the Legacy.

What advise would you have for someone looking to do the same thing.
Whats the best way to contact a manufacturer in regards to this and how do you go about it? Do you call the manufacturer customer support number?
I myself am in the auto industry and looking to leverage that to start getting cars for product knowledge ( maybe reviews etc).

They need to sell this with a stick. For the company that sells the STI, they must know some of us STI owners would like a larger more family orientated alternate in our garage BUT would still like the joy of driving a stick...

Every time I see somebody say "this car should have a manual" I wonder where all those people are who bought one in the last gen. Subaru isn't going to purposefully lose money on a feature not many people want. If it made business sense to put a manual option in this car, they would. If it doesn't, they won't. That's the end of the decision making process.
