Adrian A So? this KL hype is getting kind of dumb. The guy is amazing don't get me wrong, but his fans a starting to act like super intelectualls and shit. Just enjoy the music and let other people enjoy it however they want.
@Cyber But it's no secret, Kendrick is deff the most conscious out of all the rappers, so you can't blame them for speculating. But music is how you like to interpret it, I think ignoring what others think is sometimes the best solution.
Damn yall stupid so many of these messages were pretty obvious, to miss them you really just have to not pay attention to the lyrics at all first listen
lol.. in the song "Duckworth" he's telling a story about "Top Dog" the owner of TDE and the man that discovered him, having plans to Rob a Local KFC restaurant that Kendrick's father worked at in Compton When Kendrick was a baby.. top dog is "Anthony".. the guy that was going to rob KFC.. and "Ducky" the guy that worked at KFC is Kendricks father.. if ducky wasnt nice to Anthony and gave him free food Anthony would have attempted to Rob KFC and would've killed ducky and went to jail for life.. and the Kendrick that we all know would never have existed, and eventually would've been set up and killed in a gun fight.. that's what the into is.. Kendrick's death if the robbery happened..🔥🔥🔥🔥
Greg Clay he talks of a blind lady in the intro and then about losing his life. It's pretty simple, justice is blind and all these minorities being killed by cops and police brutality.
Also, i think the ending where the entire album rewinds itself to the beginning is a representation of what would have happened if Anthony killed Ducky and kendrick never got signed. As in the album would have never happened.
I think that you can look at it from 2 sides. you play the album from 1 to 14 and you get the Kendrick we have today. the one who has got to where he is now through rap and who didn't die in a gun fight like it was suggested in Duckworth. but if you play the album in reverse from 14 to 1 it tells a different story with the same themes and then Kendrick dies at the end to the blind woman. I don't know my head is all over the place trying to figure out this album but that's what I've gathered so far
If you listen to the album 1-14, it tells the story of how Kendrick came to be today. Listening from 14-1 tells the story of "kung fu Kenny" how his life could have been. The songs fear and duck capture the meaning of the album. Yes it is religious, but the main concept is "I wonder if I'm living through fear or living through rap" Kendrick is debating how he lived his life and which way kung fu Kenny should live his. And the album is called DAMN. Because imagine a life without Kendrick. It came down to his dad giving a guy extra food at a KFC. Damn. And that's why at the end he tells you to play it in reverse, to hear both sides of the story.
Tony Stark it's called a first reaction, course you're gonna get stuff wrong, that's why it's interesting to see how people view the album for the first time
Ace Hood says : I woke In a new Bugatti Kendrick fans: He woke up in a new Bugatti Kendrick says : I woke up in a new Bugatti Kendrick fans: He woke up in a new Bugatti both revolutionary motorsport technology concepts and distinctive artistry. that combines an artistic approach with superior technical innovations
In duckworth I think he was talking bout the Anthony(TopDawg) who is this big og that calling shots in Compton and how he was accused of murder and had no evidence to prove he was guitly which led him to beat the case was and would later be back to nickle and diming and would planned on robbing KFC where this worker name Duck(k.dot Dad) had just started working at and had just moved from Chicago to Compton with his girlfriend(k.dot Mother) and 5yr son(k.dot) due to history of GangBanging and run ends with the law Became cool with Anthony(TopDawg) because he recognized he was just like him a gangster so he looked out for him gave him free food so with that being said if neither 1 of the had chosen their paths prior to that day and became cool Anthony(TopDawg) would probably had rob the KFC killed the person got caught and charged with ArmedRobbery and murder and sentenced to life Duck(k.dot Dad) who would probably been the person who had got murdered which would of meant the 5yr(k.dot) was to grow up without a father and no guidance and would turn to the streets for guidance end up dead and would later result to no T.D.E or KendrickLamar this shows that he is ahead of his time and Is the greatest rapper to have ever lived
DAMN. is about the damnation of man. we are all born cursed/we are all flawed. We search for God by either trying to be like it, becoming it or following other false Gods. these concepts just scratch the surface of DAMN.
really appreciate how you guys really took the time to try to understand the conceptual side if the tracks . not just some reaction in which hype the sound and production the most part . Good stuff
Every stone thrown at you resting at my feet Why God why God do I gotta suffer Pain in my heart carry burden for the struggle Why God why God do I gotta bleed Every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet Why God why God do I gotta suffer Earth is no more, won't you burn this muf*cka? this is the track fears part in reverse
"Top Dawg could be servin' life, while I grew up without a father and die in a gunfight" is duckworth part in reverse but it mainly sounds like parts of most of the songs sped up and put together cause you hear parts of DNA in it also
Don't know if you guys noticed but in FEAR the first thing he says after the reverse bit at the start is ''I'll beat yo ass if you talk back'' fucking bars
In fear I feel like Kendrick addresses his fears over time first his mom beating his ass, then eventually the world such as the government, and lastly fearing god. Also in duckworth it's about kendricks dad and one of his friends. Kendrick's last name is duckworth and his dad's nickname is ducky. There's an interview up if you guys wanna watch it
The first part of fear is about the life he was living as a child at 7 Years old then transitions to the life he was going through when he got on the label TDE when he was 17 then it traditions to him being scared of losing his humbleness, his loyalty, pride, and his fear in losing that which at this time he was 27
For a first listen, you got a lot. I can understand if you misinterpreted the last tune, I didn't clock it till afterwards, then went on genius and saw it was a story of top dawg and kennys dad, guess the story just seemed so out there that it never crossed my mind😂. Well done guys, great reaction!
yal probbz already know by now, but re:'DUCKWORTH.' Anthony(TDE) & Duckie(Kendricks old man who worked at KFC) were the characters he was referring to.
In Fear its a black moma to they kids the fear of your mother second part the fear of being a 17 year old teen and all the issues that come with growing up in the hood the last part fear of being a 27 year old black man with new wealth and fame and losing it all.
yeah good ears this album talks about 2pac yes .... this video very crazy 🤗 god bless brothers 😊 that cuba line .... man pac and kendrick is very connected yeah in tpab predicted duckworth 2pacs ressurection again Man crazy 😊 i subbed you
and this album is similar tooo makavelli 😇 pray for us and for kendrick and pac and for uz ONE NATION 😊 YEAH I SEE THE TRAILER WITH 2PAC IN THE PARK STOP 1 56 PAC IS IN THERE !! 😊 NOT DEMETROUIS . :)
He was actually talking to the others rappers he said "mister one through five that's the only logic fake my death go to Cuba that's the only option" by that he means he is holding spot 1 to 5 so all u other rappers can fake ur death and go to Cuba cause that's ur only option cause they will never get the top spots again lol
I think that the sequence of the songs reflects how he thinks or acts when he gets older... the song DNA. shows him at young age and the song GOD. as an older person who believes in god and things like that
Seriously tho, literally go watch ANY reaction from a straight male and women are in the video and 99.9999% they WILL say SOMETHING about a womans looks in the video. fucking 10 min speeches about what they would do to the girl in the video and god forbid she's unattractive because then it's a 10 min speech about how they would not fuck her. Sooo STFU, find something legit to be triggered by
Because it's not. It's a time for your life matters. Everyone children of our Creator matters. Cause the day is coming soon. Just like he says he needs water. Holy water
Duckworth is about how the CEO of top dawg entertainment (kendricks record label) named anthony robbed the kfc that kendricks dad "ducky" worked at and how anthony could have killed him and never started top dawg due to being in jail.
The entire album is religious. The song titles are the deadly sins. Duckworth is his reincarnation. Kendrick is deeply religious and I believe he recently converted to Muslim. Listen to the entire album and you'll get it. The metaphors refer to all the sinning and trying to change his life. But he is also saying he's human and will still be tempted, hence him saying if someone messes with his family he won't turn the other cheek.
Alana Maranto no he didn't convert to Islam. He speaks on his beliefs in YAH. He's an Israelite & quotes Bible scriptures throughout the album. He's definitely not a Muslim lol.
Alana Maranto no he's not muslism. he's a Christian, pride & lust are 7 of the deadly sins & " yah" is Jewish for god, he's definitely not Muslim, he wears a Jesus crucifix, & you can see him wearing it in a lot of interviews
Oh, my mistake then. Someone reported he converted and showed a video of him with Farrahakan (not sure the spelling on that). I do know he's very religious. But of course I'd get sucked in to the fake news.
Jacob it tells the story of if top dawg had killed his dad and that version of kendrick, the fatherless one, grew up. His love would turn to lust, his humbleness would turn to pride, because of the switched up track order, and he would basically be the "wicked" version and die at the end by the lady of justice even after living a wicked life and trying to do one last good deed.
People choose not to see through their pineal gland. Which is gonna give them the power of clear clairvoyance. Tupac used his and gave people the truth.
INSTINCT Y'all man dem don't even get me started with that last tune Duckworth... please Lord save me, he had actually killed me at this point, you man I'm 37 my generation of hip hop was about enjoying the story telling rappers like Notorious B.I.G and Nas he just told a story leading up to Top dog breaking in stealing and almost killing his father, what would've happened? his career is DEAD! Top dog is the owner of his label (T.D.E top dog entertainment) It then loops back to beginning, the women being the Angel of death... The overall story is death
if you listen to number 10 the lyrics is in revrese pay attention you have to listen to fear he explains the whole album duckworth talks about alot you have to listen to it in reverse basically backwards 14 back to 1

the 2 outer guys definitely like hype party music more than like actual songs with meanings. the guy in the middle kinda knows his shit more.
Adrian A I think he just picks up more than the usual, because they aren't the only ones.
Adrian A So? this KL hype is getting kind of dumb. The guy is amazing don't get me wrong, but his fans a starting to act like super intelectualls and shit. Just enjoy the music and let other people enjoy it however they want.

Damn yall stupid so many of these messages were pretty obvious, to miss them you really just have to not pay attention to the lyrics at all first listen
You guys should keep Hector bellerin in the middle, he seems like an educated lad who can analyze songs👍
lol.. in the song "Duckworth" he's telling a story about "Top Dog" the owner of TDE and the man that discovered him, having plans to Rob a Local KFC restaurant that Kendrick's father worked at in Compton When Kendrick was a baby.. top dog is "Anthony".. the guy that was going to rob KFC.. and "Ducky" the guy that worked at KFC is Kendricks father.. if ducky wasnt nice to Anthony and gave him free food Anthony would have attempted to Rob KFC and would've killed ducky and went to jail for life.. and the Kendrick that we all know would never have existed, and eventually would've been set up and killed in a gun fight.. that's what the into is.. Kendrick's death if the robbery happened..🔥🔥🔥🔥
Still not convinced that's what the intro was. That's not really a gunfight. She just shot him. Wasn't a fight.
Greg Clay he talks of a blind lady in the intro and then about losing his life. It's pretty simple, justice is blind and all these minorities being killed by cops and police brutality.
This

Tony Stark You have squidward dabbing as your profile.....Your legit Fam 👌❤
bro in the middle def has the best vibe
Well done lads, relisten to the album with the lyrics on the side. This album has LEVELS for days.
Yes! The lyrics and explanation to each song is extremely important
If you listen to the album 1-14, it tells the story of how Kendrick came to be today. Listening from 14-1 tells the story of "kung fu Kenny" how his life could have been. The songs fear and duck capture the meaning of the album. In duckworth I think he was talking bout the Anthony(TopDawg) who is this big og that calling shots in Compton and how he was accused of murder and had no evidence to prove he was guitly which led him to beat the case was and would later be back to nickle and diming and would planned on robbing KFC where this worker name Duck(k.dot Dad) had just started working at and had just moved from Chicago to Compton with his girlfriend(k.dot Mother) and 5yr son(k.dot) due to history of GangBanging and run ends with the law
Became cool with Anthony(TopDawg) because he recognized he was just like him a gangster so he looked out for him gave him free food so with that being said if neither 1 of the had chosen their paths prior to that day and became cool Anthony(TopDawg) would probably had rob the KFC killed the person got caught and charged with ArmedRobbery and murder and sentenced to life Duck(k.dot Dad) who would probably been the person who had got murdered which would of meant the 5yr(k.dot) was to grow up without a father and no guidance and would turn to the streets for guidance end up dead and would later result to no T.D.E or KendrickLamar this shows that he is ahead of his time and Is the greatest rapper to have ever lived

That intro lmaooo dope
I'm not sure if you caught it but in fear and duckworth there are parts you have to listen to in reverse
Every stone thrown at you resting at my feet Why God why God do I gotta suffer Pain in my heart carry burden for the struggle Why God why God do I gotta bleed Every stone thrown at you restin' at my feet Why God why God do I gotta suffer Earth is no more, won't you burn this muf*cka? this is the track fears part in reverse

setondriveable his voice sounds like he's about to go into retirement

Don't know if you guys noticed but in FEAR the first thing he says after the reverse bit at the start is ''I'll beat yo ass if you talk back''

Great video guys. Like how you guys actually stopped the songs to discuss what you thought he meant by certain lyrics.

And to add to the previous comment- The song Fear is referencing spare the rod, spoil the child.

The guy in the middle mega mind AF
Anyone who drinks coffee def had some different type of cognitive processes. That's my personal analytics
Duckworth tells the story of his father and studio owner who crossed paths back in the day and how things could have went the wrong way
That intro tho 😭😂💀 y'all killed that tbh
And Duckworth is K-dots last name, and when he says ducky in the last song hes talking about his father, listen to it while keeping that in mind
ooh that intro too dope.
14:11 "Whites that do the dab" haha!
"Throw a rock and hide your hand" Shot at Jay Electronica
These guys are true intellectuals. I love this.
yal probbz already know by now, but re:'DUCKWORTH.' Anthony(TDE) & Duckie(Kendricks old man who worked at KFC) were the characters he was referring to.
For the song Fear when it keeps saying I'll beat your ass that's stating the fear a black mom puts in her child, for going against the grain
In Fear its a black moma to they kids the fear of your mother second part the fear of being a 17 year old teen and all the issues that come with growing up in the hood the last part fear of being a 27 year old black man with new wealth and fame and losing it all.
Someone might have commented on this but sex money murder was also an original blood gang (in the song dna)
yeah good ears this album talks about 2pac yes .... this video very crazy 🤗 god bless brothers 😊

He was actually talking to the others rappers he said "mister one through five that's the only logic fake my death go to Cuba that's the only option" by that he means he is holding spot 1 to 5 so all u other rappers can fake ur death and go to Cuba cause that's ur only option cause they will never get the top spots again lol
gerhard sherif NO...he was referencing Tupac Shakur
If You Guys Didn't Know Whenever He Said Lucy It Referrers To Lucifer
That intro lmao!
I think that the sequence of the songs reflects how he thinks or acts when he gets older... the song DNA. shows him at young age and the song GOD. as an older person who believes in god and things like that
this album makes me very happy
THIS SHIT HAD ME GOOSBUMPING ASFFF. Best video I've watched in ages you lot are fucking lit 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
You guys are great, you actually listen to the music instead of just bobbin your heads like crazy haha
the brown guy is hott I lv him who agree with me?
Huguette paola Better talk about their opinion and reaction not about him
Huguette paola but if there were a hot girl us guys would talk about it. We're all superficial creatures.
Did anyone else hear in track 9 LUST when it said "no time for black lives matter" 14:37 -14:41???
Because it's not. It's a time for your life matters. Everyone children of our Creator matters. Cause the day is coming soon. Just like he says he needs water. Holy water
GoodFellow Weeds thanks you

At the beginning of fear the beat and vocals are played in reverse lookup the Version played forward
good work and let these Bars seep into your soul!
God. Is the best of them all, because it goes from Kendrick speaking (first verse) to God putting Kendrick in his place on the second verse
Happy birthday to damn. Everything about this album is amazing! Love you Kung fu Kenny
Watching in my room and then I recognise your wallpaper because it’s the same as mine 😂
Duckworth is about how the CEO of top dawg entertainment (kendricks record label) named anthony robbed the kfc that kendricks dad "ducky" worked at and how anthony could have killed him and never started top dawg due to being in jail.
The dude in the middle cool af. Woke af bro
But of course I'd get sucked in to the fake news.
yup it's the battle of him dying by wickedness or weakness
Ive listened to this album and I feel like somethings missing, Like the story isn't over, I do not think that was done by accident.
DreAm Team Prod. Why you say listen to it backwards??
DreAm Team Prod. Explain to me how cause I did & I didn't understand as much.
Delvin West ohhh thank you !! really helped me understand the album more in depth, have a nice day bud
That guy on the right didn't land a single dab lmao
11:23 hiss expression on the left 🤣
Whats Augies IG? He was on point with his shit...

his career is DEAD!
Top dog is the owner of his label (T.D.E top dog entertainment)
It then loops back to beginning, the women being the Angel of death... The overall story is death
This album is for the children of Israel. Real Hebrews/Jews...the 12 tribes of Iseralite...TribeOfJudah...Power to the most high YAH!
if you listen to number 10 the lyrics is in revrese pay attention you have to listen to fear he explains the whole album duckworth talks about alot you have to listen to it in reverse basically backwards 14 back to 1
