Im 31. I was the 15 year old misunderstood black kid blasting this, jumper, Oasis, Soundgarden/audioslave, Nirvana, red hot chili peppers, Radiohead.... Actually... Not was... I still am
Big hitting line that shows he doesn't understand how complicated love actually getts for the couple used to random smack middle and leave as you can without ties to no other man/woman. The damage always comes from lack of love
This song encapsulates my youth, my innocence, my joyous and painful memories, all that I’ve left behind. It evokes nostalgia, love, hurt and I adore everything about it.
Well said, songwriters. If only this was Stephan Jenkins perspective on the importance of their dynamic when it came to business decisions regarding songwriting credits/residuals and maybe they would've had a lot more sustained success.
This song reminds me of my first love. 17 years old sitting in the passenger side of his old truck while this played. Grinning at him while he danced and occasionally glanced over at me to sing to me. Just aimlessly driving around at night because my mom and dad wouldn’t let us be alone together or close my bedroom door. 😂 It was so sweet. That was the best love and hearing this song instantly takes me back to that night looking at him and how insanely in love I was with him. Growing up sucks. 😂😂 We’re both happily married to other people now. But I’ll never forget him. I wish him happy birthday every single year on his birthday to this day and we’re both around 40. ☺️
I was 20 years old at that time... Listening to this song now break my heart and reminds me of the beautiful days ... I hope that my children will have best times..
I love how songs are like records of old feelings. You hear a song after a long time and suddenly there's a rush of old feelings and memories.. feelings you haven't felt in a long time, memories you have forgotten a long time ago.
And I wish I could get back there Some place back there Smiling in the pictures you would take Doing crystal myth Will lift you up until you break It won't stop I won't come down, I keep stock With a tick-tock rhythm and a bump for the drop And then I bumped up I took the hit I was given Then I bumped again And then I bumped again

There’s gonna be one person who breaks through every wall you have and you’re left with these raw emotions you didn’t even know you were capable of feeling.
A memory of a time in life I lived as a teenager, those days are long gone with most friendships.. nothing last forever and this is a reminder of how old I am and still going...nostalgia.
In 2000 I gathered all the bands I loved and made my playlists... 25 years later the playlists haven't changed almost nothing. Third Bling Eye are still in there.
It is truly hurting and saddening at the sane time deep inside whenever you hear nostalgic songs eventually, the good old memories are triggered and you will find yourself crying out of nowhere. It really hurts good inside...
Its crazy how a song can take u back to a point of ur what seems like a past life n all of the sudden the emotional book is thrown at u. I remember the time in my life when this song came out. Theyre fragile innocent little ppl about to experience the harsh realities this society has to offer...
@@JohnDoe-bl8dx To me, it's a continuation of Semi-Charmed Life (as represented by the borrowed motif). That relationship had incredible highs, partly due to their meth use, but it was also an escape from their real feelings. Now that the singer's partner has either realised it was unhealthy or succumb to addiction, she has withdrawn from him, he's left to deal with the hole in his heart that anyone feels after a breakup combined with the emptiness he feels now that he isn't getting high all the time. He has to deal with his raw emotions, and it's incredibly difficult, because he pushed away from his community and support network during that toxic relationship. There is a tangible sense of both nostalgia for the good times and the painful regret of the consequences of his own actions that makes the song so poignant.

@@dragontales1999 Third Eye Blind has been legally contentious since they broke nationally with Stephan Jenkins being sued for songwriting royalties that weren't being paid to the other members and also fraudulently claiming he majority, solely, wrote the songs.
