when this song came out, my year 6 teacher took a moment to talk to the whole class about it. he told us: "you are NOT dirtbags". i remember in my young brain thinking "i never thought i was, its just a song." it was very sincere on his part, but it came across as too severe. in this time, i told myself i'd write notes every day about the thoughts kids have so that when i was an adult i could publish a book with the definitive insight into the difference between adult and childhood thinking. children's thoughts were so very different to whatever adults thought and we couldn't communicate it to them. i could tell back then that the gap of understanding was huge. i thought the book would make me rich and famous when i was older. every day passed by and i never wrote notes. i could feel my brain forgetting everything. i wish i wrote it. also, not only did i not think i was a "dirtbag", but i wasn't a "teenager" either.

@@directrulefromgamerchair3947 not all wtf, you must kno sum pretty racist Americans 😂 if there’s a race war at school then the whole city/town it’s in prolly has a race problem. At my high school and the ones in my area every race would hangout with each other ofc there were lil groups wit jus one race but race was never a concern. Race would only be brought up if somebody was being racist to somebody. High school really isn’t hard or anything if u jus get out of ur bubble and make friends and if u don’t then you’ll be left out and it’ll be your own fault
I’m entering an american highschool this september :’)
"How does she know who I am, and why does she give a damn about me?"
That actually gave me the feels.
yes
and then you realise it wasnt real, because it was just a dream and the poor guy in the songs about to wake up
when this song came out, my year 6 teacher took a moment to talk to the whole class about it. he told us: "you are NOT dirtbags". i remember in my young brain thinking "i never thought i was, its just a song." it was very sincere on his part, but it came across as too severe. in this time, i told myself i'd write notes every day about the thoughts kids have so that when i was an adult i could publish a book with the definitive insight into the difference between adult and childhood thinking. children's thoughts were so very different to whatever adults thought and we couldn't communicate it to them. i could tell back then that the gap of understanding was huge. i thought the book would make me rich and famous when i was older. every day passed by and i never wrote notes. i could feel my brain forgetting everything.
i wish i wrote it.
also, not only did i not think i was a "dirtbag", but i wasn't a "teenager" either.
I love that he sings her part, because you know its a dream and hes telling the story of the dream. Its just one of the small things i love about this sont
I suppose it’s also a practical element, since the band has no females in it. But you’re totally right.
Yeah this sont is so good 🤘
Really smart !
Legit never knew until now🤯

When my sister turned 13, she blasted this song on her birthday on our speakers. It was a blast with just me and my sister jumping around to this song when our parents weren’t home.

Zack Puterbaugh nope, 4028
I love how they got away with making us believe any of those "kids" was under 25. Some of them are probably over 30.
Hollywood casting formula for 🙌success 🙌
I mean yeah, I’m not for sure but isn’t the music videos main character Jimmy from American Pie, or am I seeing things
@@Adi_ur_daddi Yep. And the girl is Heather, a different character from that series, but not Jim’s love interest.
I heard people looked older back then lol

@@vacsad True that, so much fun with barely any responsibility, having so much time hanging out with friends and family. Discover new things etc, it was the best.
Like, almost everything about it.
Same. Used to watch Malcolm in the Middle, Yu-Gi-Oh, then a bit of SmackDown with my big bro. We listened to Offspring and Linkin Park and had 2-player games on Tekken 3, Gran Turismo 2 and THPS2. Man, growing up in the early 2000's was awesome. What do kids nowadays have? Fortnite and Lil Pump? Lol. Kinda feel sorry for them tbh.
I think it’s beautiful how songs can transport you back in time instantly !!

And they all let us know, by placing the masonic hand signs and symbols into all music videos, movies, concerts, magazines, album covers…..
(As if judging is often unjust by many, so is free speech willed with nonsense , because of the lack of knowledge. 1st go and gain KNOWLEDGE, which you missing and then worry about you being allowed to judge and speak free or not. Take a listen around the world, many are just noise makers, having no knowledge about that they talk about, nobody truly listens them. These 2 verses describe perfectly many human souls situation:
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
