I say this, because I'm a hard rocker still....I cut my teeth on the Beatles/Stones/Kinks/DC5/etc. etc. etc. Hard rock is still in my soul just as much as when I was 28. Back when Sugar Ray was all over the airwaves, I really didn't pay them any mind. This stuff was always just kind of in the background for a time, and then it faded out. But something made me recently begin checking them out on YTube, and I'll tell you what.....these guys were something very special. This is some DAMN GOOD STUFF. Yeah, I've seen it written by people that admitted that it wasn't really "cool" to admit that you dug Sugar Ray back in the day, and I think it's because they did a lot of tongue-in-cheek stuff in their videos....they weren't "hard core" enough for all the wannabee G's. The 90s didn’t really end until somewhere in 2001. And then 9/11 it completely solidified the change. 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 is my perspective of early 2000‘s. In 2004, 2005, 06 and 07 were there own era. 2008 everything changed. 2009 it changed harder. 2010 -11 were its own years. 2012 was 2011 evolved, then 2013-2015 were the same, they evolved on eachother. 2016 it changed again with music and politics. Basically an evolution of years prior. 2017-2019 were 2016 evolved. 2013-2019 evolved on each other. 2013 is when the 2010’s started to feel like the 2010’s (trends, style, technology, design were consistent the rest of the decade). 2020 is kind of it’s own year so far, but still feels like the 2010s. But after 2011, the changes weren’t as severe than the ones in the 2000s. I was born in 97.
I just woke up from a nap where my best friend who passed away and I were dancing to it and only I could see him. It was a happy moment but I woke up emotional.
This came on while me and my wife were in Lowes on Sunday. I started dancing going the aisle and she was like wth you like that song. I replied HELL YEAH it's a classic.
I heard this tonight at a grocery store, and even though I was only five or six when this song was released, I told my mother that I wished that I could go back to this time.
I remember this song being on top of the vh1 morning countdown during the summer of 01( I forgot the name of the show) but during that one particular show they were on a beach and they kept showing off this Sony MiniDisk player, and at the time thinking that was so awesome. So whenever I hear this song it reminds me of that, and I come back here just to feel that again. Memories
I remember this song came out summer 2001. We all know what happened in September of that year so this song feels like a piece of lost innocence. When I was a kid, Rhino had old music, my dad’s music. Now its my music 😢😂

This is one of those songs that I wasn't in love with but it didn't bother me if it was on the radio. And it was always playing on the radio. Lately it's been playing everywhere I go and the part where he sings I'm missing you, just hit a chord with me and I'm feeling a pang of nostalgia thick enough to choke an elephant, I could cry. Now I cant stop listening to it
This song has cool lyrics and a bunch of beautiful melodies. The nostalgia is unavoidable.
"I never knew how much you meant to me" was sung with this almost tranquil regret. Loved that part.
It rocks I got it
Rocking rolling in LA then today a garbage dump
"I'm wishing you, you'd feel the same and just come back to me I need you." that part of the song always gets me
Very, very beautiful song.
This song is peak 2001.
the band on the couch singing that opening melodic acoustic piece is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life.
Hits harder for a 38yr old late bloomer, mental illnesses… spent life alone … about to be a phoenix 🐦🔥
Seth Rogan you called it
Amen bro. You ain't the only one
My wife didn't die. She just did a 180 as soon as she had a death in her family. I grief over her. She's the same vessel but a different spirit.
Sorry bro.
When it's over
That's the time I fall in love again
And when it's over
That's the time you're in my heart again
And when you go go go go
I know
And it never ends
It never ends
[chorus]
All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window
All the things that she used to bring
All the songs she used to sing
All the favorite TV shows
Have gone out the window
I'm missing you
I never knew how much she'd loved me
I'm missing you
I never knew how much you meant to me
I need you and when you go go go go
I know
It never ends
Never ends
[chorus]
All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window
All the things that she used to bring
All the songs she used to sing
All the favorite TV shows
Have gone out the window
I'm wishing you
You never said you were pretending
I'm wishing you
You feel the same and just come back to me
I need you and when you go go go go
I know
It never ends
It never ends
When it's over
Can I still come over
And when it's over
Is it really over
When it's over
That's the time I fall in love again
[chorus]
All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window
All the things that she used to bring
All the songs she used to sing
All the favorite TV shows
Have gone out the window
All the things that I used to say
All the words that got in the way
All the things that I used to know
Have gone out the window
All the things that she used to bring
All the songs she used to sing
All the favorite TV shows
Have gone out the window

the part where he's like " You know how meaaan " 🤣 never gets old , gets me everytime lol 😅💜💜💜
As a rap enthusiast and a hugely biased fan hip hop, even I know for a fact that this era of music is nearly unmatched. The sense of nostalgia and all the memories that accompany it 😢 my childhood is truly dead
It will only truly be dead when none remember
1999-2000 was truly their year
This is 2001 but same thing
It was a lot of fun..
Hey it's real Murphy Karges account
I'm an older Boomer....will be 68 yrs. young in a few days (12-16-22). But don't you hear how good this is now that you're older and don't care who knows it? C'mon....be honest. God Bless us all jbeintucson
I think your like me just searching for old memories.
if ur b day is 12-16-22 your centurian ass aint no boomer
@@KidChaosH2O Kid.....I have had one hell of a colorful life. Brother.....I don't have to search for old memories.....everywhere I look I can see ghosts of dear buddies and girlfriends past. Not literally, I mean the memories. Too many long gone that were dear to me thanks to the white lady of death (blow), heroin, car wrecks, Harley deaths, suicide. When you're almost 70, you're gonna have that. So no, I'm not looking for memories.....just love the older music that was the wallpaper of my life and friendships. Just keep swingin' when shit gets dark and punch your way out of it. I give every bit of credit for my experiences to the Good Lord Above. Signed: an old sinner who came to the end of himself and wised up. jbeintucson
This song came out when I was in 8th grade! And I swear, to this day, it's not really summer until I have listened to this entire album!
same here!
That is the most underrated band I've Never seen like Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Weezer, Nickelback, And Yellowcard by giving them a Throwback to play some kind of pop music lately!
OMG SERIOUSLY NOSTALGIA MOMENT: when you had no clue what a song is but have always loved hearing it as a kid hence why you felt like you've heard it before.. that's me for most sugar ray songs *best feeling ever* #90's childhood :D
the acoustic INTRO is amazing!
Lol no
It's the coolest intro ever
Its their song called "Ours"
3:15 cracks me up lol 😂 the way he screams “you know what I mean!!”
2024 anyone?
no I'm in 2001 and I always will be
Yup!
Yeah right know IM typing live😂
From Brazil🇧🇷 ☝🏽
Nah I'm in 2026. I screwed up my calendar.
I was lucky enough to catch Sugar Ray back in the day with Matchbox 20 and Maroon 5 in one show. Onc of the best shows I ever witnessed from 3 unique and talented bands that had their own individual style and sound.
Any Californiania band is good.
Let the State of California say so! In the presence of Cypress Hill's B-Real....everyone there is good for the music world! I went!!!!!!!!!!
The last addlip to the chorus is just paradise reminds me of being a kid thinking bout girl in school
My mom claims when I was a toddler I would sing "gone out the weenow" ALL THE TIME. I was browsing around and found this and it felt so weird but awesome.
Too cute!
The harmony at the beginning 😎❤️
Yeah. Wish I knew that song.
@@dollarcostbackpacker1226 It's another song by Sugar Ray called "Ours"
I’ve had people laugh at how much appreciation I have for Sugar Ray, but man do I enjoy them.
Same bro. I listen to them daily. Especially when I smoke.
I came across my brothers cd collection .
What an era and what a song! Miss those days. 🥹🥹
I love how you get 4 or 5 music videos for this same song and each one just fits into the music.
long lasting song ..
after 10 years , 20 years , 30 years this song is still alive ..
So good. And Mark McGrath peak hotness. I had a cutout of him on my day planner for high school lol
I just woke up from a nap where my best friend who passed away and I were dancing to it and only I could see him. It was a happy moment but I woke up emotional.
Quarantining whilst listening to this absolute banger 🔥
This came on while me and my wife were in Lowes on Sunday. I started dancing going the aisle and she was like wth you like that song. I replied HELL YEAH it's a classic.
God, the layers and depth in this mix...it's fucking fantastic.
Memories
The Last Targaryen so fucking lame lol
I remember this song came out summer 2001. We all know what happened in September of that year so this song feels like a piece of lost innocence.
When I was a kid, Rhino had old music, my dad’s music. Now its my music 😢😂
This music video NEVER gets old. Love it
This takes me back to the good ol’ days. 😢
Time travel when it's invented will allow for the greatest concerts
Still love it! Still love the creativity of how each band member has an idea for the music video... in which they all put in!
Blue skies and green grass, this was a good summer for real..
Mark McGrath was such a dreamboat!!!
agree!
yesssss
Agreed!
I remember my ex bf when i see him. He has resemblance with mark mcgrath 😊
Really? Lol
last night I was visiting Universal Studios in Florida and guess who was playing for free there? I couldn't believe it Sugar Ray a only 4 feet playing those amazing songs from our good times!! They still rocking!!
Sugar Ray is still the shit in 2023❤ heard it in Zaxbys
This has got to be on of the best music video concepts ever.
Just watched you live... it was as glorious as I had imagined!
This song never ages
"All the things that I used to know have gone out the window" So true. Nickelodeon, Cartoon-Cartoons, Kids WB, pagers, the first Pokemon movie, the first Power Rangers movie, baggy jeans, the days before internet when you just hung out and talked with your friends about life, skate parks, bike ramps, dirt clod fights, Razor scooters, that Star Wars Pod Racing game, Star Wars Episode 1 coming out, that James Bond game with the lasers, the Mall, $1.50 gas, fun for the sake of fun. We traded all that for Pintrest and Twitter? Nah, man, I'm going back! Where's my upside-down, backwards visor for no reason? You can keep your bottle flip challenge.
Geoffrey Sloan seriously true
My eyes teared up reading that...
@@scraplee945 Same.. as I was getting near the end I really felt it
Geoffrey Sloan that's so true, take me back to the 90s!!!!
Geoffrey Sloan visors we're so dope. 🤣
Every time I hear this group, I feel happier. I sure miss them. Thank Heavens for recordings like this❤
It was good summer with crazy town, nelly furtado, sugar ray, limp bizkit ,ronan keaating and few more
Piotr I forgot all about Nelly Frutado
Best summer ever!
Dwayne Ross
yes indeed
Piotr C Crazy Town was badass, to bad Butterfly ruined it for them.
now ladies come ladies go on my revolving door, some ladies never come back most come back for more haha
Honestly they had a nice amount of hits that still bop all these years later.
I love the concept of how each person see's the video. I remember Murphy saying that it was the most expensive video they did, costing over 600K.
Never gets old, McGrath, a good Irish-American☘️
