I think for most people, if a specific Sugar Ray hit reminds them of a "happier time" and/or year, then any other SR hit is going to give them at least some of that same vibe.

hey but it still works, man! especially since no one else crossed eye-lines with camera. plus, the video is obviously quite meta in a lot of regards anyway, so it's not like doing so ruined some potential "immersive" viewing experience for anyone lol.
you guys seriously all *killed* it in this. and for years now i've found it to be objectively one of the greatest music videos ever made. a huge factor of that being the charisma/energy of the band. though that's my opinion, at least

I remember in the 90s, as a child, my mom would always talk about the 80s. We would listen to the music and she would get so excited and feel young again. Thats how I feel playing 90s for my kids. It's amazing to feel that too. I truly get it now 🥰

Unbelievable this is from 22 years ago. Back then I would listen to such songs and dream of a life that would be. Now I look back and think that was the life that was. The 90s didn’t really end until somewhere in 2001. And then 9/11 it completely solidified the change. 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 is my perspective of early 2000‘s. In 2004, 2005, 06 and 07 were there own era. 2008 everything changed. 2009 it changed harder. 2010 -11 were its own years. 2012 was 2011 evolved, then 2013-2015 were the same, they evolved on eachother. 2016 it changed again with music and politics. Basically an evolution of years prior. 2017-2019 were 2016 evolved. 2013-2019 evolved on each other. 2013 is when the 2010’s started to feel like the 2010’s (trends, style, technology, design were consistent the rest of the decade). 2020 is kind of it’s own year so far, but still feels like the 2010s. But after 2011, the changes weren’t as severe than the ones in the 2000s. I was born in 97.

I remember this song being on top of the vh1 morning countdown during the summer of 01( I forgot the name of the show) but during that one particular show they were on a beach and they kept showing off this Sony MiniDisk player, and at the time thinking that was so awesome. So whenever I hear this song it reminds me of that, and I come back here just to feel that again. Memories
