That guitar riff is awesome and the tone of the guitars is amazing. Whoever produce their records did a fantastic job. I heard these guys live and turning that into this sound, was truly a work of art in and of itself.
They fired their guitarist (Kevin Cadogan) not too long after this was released. Not so coincidentally, they never had another big hit with a memorable guitar riff.

I was still into Soundgarden, Alice n Chains, Live, Candlebox and many others. Living in East Lansing I remember how The Verve Pipe won a battle of the bands(no American Idol bullshit) contest and were signed by RCA. It was a huge deal. It was 1996 and I was working out at my college and looked up on the TV tuned into MTV, and saw The Verve Pipe' s video for Photograph...it was crazy. Everyone knew these these guys really well. It was really fascinating seeing how a record label commodifies music and artists. They changed from a melodic rock band to a grungy sound. How shitty is it to mass produce art and artists. Anyway, looking back and comparing to what we hear on rock stations now, I really appreciate 3rd eye blind and Our Lady Peace.

I always used to hear this song when i was a little kid. I didn’t even know the name of the song until today. It was just a lost melody that I didn’t know the name of for many years, as is with many songs I know, that I’ve forgotten over time. I was like "oh yeah, I've heard this song before"
I'm 62 years old. And I'm like,'Where was I when this came out?' Apparently it's like 25 years old. Awesome upbeat riff and the words are really timeless, -and I don't say that often. I've performed Semi-Charmed Life, but this just as good. If I wasn't so full of my favorite bands I would've listened to these guys more. Some bands radicalized music(if it wasn't already in the 80s)to the point of crazy fetish in the 90s. These guys consolidated more the legacy of pop rock, and I'm sure they sold enough to bear that out.
I am 60 and yes, it's as good as you think! I remember about 15-17 years ago I was cruising home from work and my daughter who was 24'ish called and I had my stereo up so loud in my truck (as always), so I answered and said, "hold on", and turned it down, and she said, "is that Third Eye Blind" and then proceeded to shout to all her friends about what her mom was listening to. I personally have never heard more non-stop and deafeningly loud screaming from an audience at a rock concert in my life than I did at a Third Eye Blind show I once saw in San Francisco when they were touring in support of their Blue album that included this song.

The tour they are doing right now.....I saw them in July in CT... since it was a "one more time"tour and they were bringing it back, they played all old songs. Including this one . I mean all the old hits. They played the two songs I wanted to hear the most right off the bat. They started with "feeling this"and I was already scream singing all the lyrics the first 5 seconds in .
I always used to hear this song when i was a little kid. I didn’t even know the name of the song until today. It was just a lost melody that I didn’t know the name of for many years, as is with many songs I know, that I’ve forgotten over time. For that reason, this song holds special value to me for my nostalgia despite the fact it was made way before I was born, yet it seems so… familiar… like I’ve thought about it every once in a while, and it just gently slinks away into my mind to be thought of later.
I was born in 2002 and started listening to Semi Charmed Life as I had started to think about it but didn't know the name, so I looked up "doo doo doo song", and instantly recognized the song after listening. Then I started listening to the other hits from the first album, and even Graduate which I played on repeat, it probably got me into the band in the first place.
A few months later I began thinking "okay wait, I feel like I remember another song of theirs, what was it called?" I actually began to scroll down and then I found a song title of "Never Let You Go" on TH-cam and so I clicked on the video thumbnail to hear it, and what do ya know, I recognized it... I was like "oh yeah, I've heard this song before"

I'm 62 years old. And I'm like,'Where was I when this came out?' Apparently it's like 25 years old. Awesome upbeat riff and the words are really timeless, -and I don't say that often. I've performed Semi-Charmed Life, but this just as good. If I wasn't so full of my favorite bands I would've listened to these guys more. Some bands radicalized music(if it wasn't already in the 80s)to the point of crazy fetish in the 90s. These guys consolidated more the legacy of pop rock, and I'm sure they sold enough to bear that out.

I am 60 and yes, it's as good as you think! I remember about 15-17 years ago I was cruising home from work and my daughter who was 24'ish called and I had my stereo up so loud in my truck (as always), so I answered and said, "hold on", and turned it down, and she said, "is that Third Eye Blind" and then proceeded to shout to all her friends about what her mom was listening to. I loved it then, I love it now and I'm glad you love it! 😊

Just before I left campus in 2004 I made sure to collect any good music from my colleagues. Among the collection was a rock cd. This song was number one in a collection of 19 rock songs.
I never liked this song until I tried playing it on guitar and realized it has some crazy riff timing. Especially the bridge.
