No, it would be chess and is not even close as there are many short time formats with apps you can play and it's way more popular than any other game in real lofe
I have played MTG for 20 years and I didn't even know BGG existed until about one year ago when I started playing other board games. And nobody of the hundreds of MTG players I know uses BGG to track their plays. It wouldn't even make sense, we play every day between online and paper.
BGA and yucata plays can now be easily imported into BGA through the BG Stats app. But yeah, I think you'll see many more plays on BGA compared to BGG, since not everyone will use that app.
Agreed, all of the top 10 (except Magic) are available on BGA and I just assumed they're getting logged from that. Ark Nova has been the #1 game on BGA for a while (somehow).
That list was very interesting. The numbers on number one are insane though. I got 9 points with 3 gsmes correct (numbers 2, 3 and 9) and 3 games one off (numbers 4, 5 and 7).
I got 8 points!, Hit Ark Nova, Azul, Wingspan, and Terraformign Mars on the head! No other points though. What a fun video! Very creative and loved watching this one. Interesting way to think about it from a BGG perspective of people who log on there.
Got just 2 points: 1 for placing sea salt and paper #3 and 1 for heat at #5 If only my plays counted it will be 1. Carcasonne (69) 2. Sea Salt and paper (48) 3. Azul (44) 4. Similo (26) 5. 7 wonders architects (24) 6. Draftosaurus (24) 7. Hanabi (14) 8. Viticulture (13) 9. Ticket to ride Europe (12) 10. Ark nova (11)
Well, I am not sure how these guys decided “ what BOARD GAMES are included?? I understand they may be choosing to ALLOW more modern games in their “most played”. But; How do you or anyone LEAVE OUT--- CHESS??? It IS A BOARD GAME! Most important - it DEFINITELY IS PLAYED BY PEOPLE-- world wide- than ANY game on their list!!
Such a fun game to play along! Only got 1 point 😂 but I console myself by having guessed 8 out of the top 10 - although they were quite misplaced 😅 However, without your clues/options - for sure I would hardly have guessed any games in the top ten and def. made 0 points 😅
Heat: Pedal to the Metal 25 Under Falling Skies 12 Star Realms: Frontiers 11 Star Wars: Outer Rim 9 SCOUT 8 Star Wars: Imperial Assault 7 Sky Team 6 Thunderstone Quest 6 Pandemic 5 So Clover! 5 Twilight Inscription 5 The White Castle 5
It's very obvious that you guys likes games that has a lot of text on it. It is the exact opposite of my prefer in games , the less text there is the better the game became
There is no way Boardgamegeek's plays are an accurate indicator of most played games in the world lol. Not even close. Heck, I'm not even sure if it counts by gamers. Ark Nova is popular but it's not even close to as popular as the likes of Wingspan, Magic The Gathering (approximately 50 million players at the moment), Codenames, Carcassonne, or virtually ANY Hasbro games like Monopoly.
I imagine most Magic players won't log plays on BGG. Ark Nova however is played a LOT in recent months on Boardgamearena. It's been on BGA since May last year, and has reached 3.8 million plays. Carcassonne has 10 mil plays but since Nov 2016, while Wingspan has 3.6 mil since Sep 2022. Azul does beat it, with 15 mil plays since Dec 2021. Of course very few of these plays are imported into BGG (though the BG Stats app makes it easy since you just have to click to import). But BGG does let you search by date interval, so it's easiest to use for a stats video. :)
Magic players dont use BGG, because its the only game they play. Obviously it would be millions of plays and number 1

@@hugocruz2439 True. I didnt think about chess

@@lars_rosenberg quick google: mtg online has 1.5 million daily players. Chess has 11 million daily.
I imagine play count stats on the online platforms like BGA or Tabletopia crush the BGG logged plays.

Glad Ark Nova is on first, I played it 10 times this year already. ❤

The scoring is not fair. It would be better to give 10 points if you guessed precisely, 9 points if you missed 1 place, 8 if 2 places, and so on.
who cares lol
It's a creative entertaining 14 minute youtube video. Just enjoy and have fun.

Have you guys reviewed Brass Birmingham? I'm intrigued as to why an older game is top rated on BGG
YOU ARE BOTH AWESOME! ❤❤❤
For the next time, it would be grate that the places are written with the played game count on board.
Such a fun game to play along!

Fun video. I have contributing to the Marvel champions stats. Just discovered it and it’s so fun.

9:37 Trigger warning. It's Azul Summer Pavilion not Azul :d
How do you look up these type of stats on BGG? Very interested to look up some cool lists!

Yeah actual list based on facts and not logs of bgg would start with chess and mtg probably ;)
Tough list. Most games logged on BGG.
2 points for Wingspan everything else not even close
Well we all know it's uno and monopoly
