You do deserve War of the Ring. Let me tell you why from my perspective. You mentioned how hard you have been working on Boardgame Hangover. Well, I encountered your channel when I already felt like I had subscribed to enough board game TH-cam channels. I told myself I would not subscribe to another one. But... your passion, your humour and your style just pulled me in. You two won me over. So that is a sign that you are great at what you do. You deserve War of the Ring. I love SUSD, NPI and Radho Runsthrough. You do your own thing in your own way - and it works!
This wideo was awesome! So satisfying to see each stage of deliberation, then purging, then selling, then finally the perfect collection with the Holy Grail cherry on top. What a joy to see! Thanks Janis!
Also, you do deserve War of the Ring. Your channel is officially up there with channels that I look forward to watching, even if I’m not interested in the game. High quality discussions and videos like From Dice Tower, SUSD, NPI, Shelfside, and most recently you guys. Keep up the quality work!
Well done Janis, I would certainly say you deserve it, you've created from scratch a fantastic, funny and charasmatic channel that appears to be going from strength to strength. Keep it up and enjoy your new perfect collection with a sense of well earned pride.
Loaded with BANGERS!!! Klask Cascadia Spirit Island IceCool2 Heat Castles of Burgundy Thats so clever The crew I'd add "Strike" Dice Game, Masterpiece, Pokemon Splendor, Point Salad Eevee edition, Fantastic Factories, Sky Team, and a Homemade version of Lacuna from extra Spirit Island pieces.
Wow, what a selection! Do you have a bgg account, I'd like to see your games and get some other ideas. I'm KingEngine1 and I love the games you listed.
@@olivierjodoin2283 : NoClueDough : on BGG. Just started my collection not too long ago after getting sick of my 3000th game of Yahtzee. I wondered: are there any games like Yahtzee that are more rewarding and fun to play? Found Actualol on YT talking about how games have changed since the days of monopoly, and that started my journey.
Great video Janis! Your content has been exceptional and you've succesfully carved out a great format for yourselves. Looking forward to more great videos. And how about a video topic idea: best places to shop for games and accesories in Europe? Non-US/UK/AU enthusiasts dont get a lot of content like that.
Thanks for the content. At start was not a big fan to be honest, but now, is definitely one of the best channels out there. The quality of your videos both in Edition and Content are exceptional. No unnecessary talk, always to the point. We hope to have you here for long time.
Let me congratulate you, this is a pretty special and fast video. Coronated with a sentimental tone at the end, that thing that you said about working a lot to achive what you have now as a channel. You have done an impressive job, and for that, congratulations. You really deserve that game c:
I am also creating my perfect board game collection, got 627 games and 17 games incomming. Got around 25 expansions. Been tuning the collection since 2017. When I returned to board gaming after like 20 years absence from the hobby.
@@BoardGameHangover Tom Vasel at The Dice Tower gave both the games Glüx and Tintas seals of excellence. Really nice "easy going" games, why "nobody" talks about them? Claim It! and Gang of Dice are both amazing dice games. Some examples.
Janis you are so talented with story telling! Awesome video, great job. 🙂 Looking forward to more, supporting you is worth every cent. And I believe it's not only talent but hard work and passion. 😎
This is inspiring and I hope to do something similar later this year. Could you talk a bit more about how you priced and sold them so quickly? That hassle is what stops me. What is the white box game that moved you, or would you prefer not to say?
I checked the prices at local stores and BGG and lowered my price by 20-50% depending on the state of the game and personal feel. Also posted it in local Facebook board game groups; people were active there. The white box is Aeon Trespass, an epic story game
Thanks for an awesome video, great to see Wonderland's War on the must keep pile. Can you tell me what is the name of the big white box with the triangle on it from your must keep pile?
A lot of fun, but also painful saying farewell to so many great games (underwater cities!). What was the rationale for grabbing Dwellings of Eldervale rather than waiting for Andromeda's Edge to come out?
It was a bit painful, but it's all about making sure the games get played :) I'm not a big space theme guy, and from the reviews I've seen, I'm not convinced I'd love that more. But I might be wrong.
Beautifully done!!! Been following for close to a year I think. That is my favorite video you guys have done. Love the humor, love the realness, agree with your tastes........ mostly Hehehehehe.
Pls keep Arkham Horror LCG! I saw how you liked games like Aeon Trespass and Oathsworn and we like AHLCG for similar reasons - great narrative with tense coop gameplay
@@BoardGameHangover I second this opinion. If you are able to try a full 8 scenario campaign (examples: The Dunwich Legacy or The Path to Carcosa) you will get a better understanding if this game is for you. It’s my favorite game, but it’s not for everyone.
Wow! Just thinking about doing this to my collection is giving me so much anxiety! But, I can def see your point. Appreciate the discipline! Did I miss it in the video? Did you say how many is left in your collection?
Cool! I just reached 100 this year after 6 yrs in the Hobbie. I've started to set my purchases aside and think about them before buying. My saved-for-later cart is getting huge! 😂
Interesting you kept sleeping gods in the safe zone. I have it, i love it, but i feel like that’s one of the games that’s hard to get back on the table after a full campaign
I've just started our second play through after 1.5 completed ones, my partner wanted a story feature saying why, narratively, we are back and started again...there isn't one. Plus it really loses something if you are just looking at old notes and just going to the few places you didn't go before only to end up inevitably crossing some same paths as before. Feel a little sad about it after loving it so much the first 1.5 play throughs.
I enjoy a lot your channel. Only problem is that your favorite games are too heavy for my taste (and for my group). So I watch it for entertainment, but it would be awesome if you made a video on easy games. Games that are easy to teach. One video with small games as well.
Lord of the Rings... - interesting. I have heard people say that Dune: War for Arrakis (same designers more or less) is actually the better game of the two.

Holy crap, what websites did you use to sell games in 48 hrs?
I would love to know too. I use the geek and it is a PITA.
any website should work as long as your price is the cheapest among other seller
I'm interested too. Unless he sold all of them for a fraction of the price just for the sake of making shelf space.
The particular website is not relevant because it was locally (in Latvia) and at very good prices.
It takes me years to sell games unless I liquidate them for a penny per dollar.
