If Christine Sinclair was ever paid remotely close to her male counterparts with comparable skills and contribution, she wouldn’t be reacting this seriously about the Wrexham gig. It is actually sad to hear her saying “I need it” twice because I think she really meant it. In any case, a fantastic career, a GOAT, and a true Canadian hero. All the best in all your future endeavours!
Agreed but the sport is a business, and unfortunately the women’s side doesn’t generate the revenue that the men’s side does. If it did then I’m sure she would have made a ton of money playing the sport
You can help that by getting people to watch. Not moaning about pay difference. All major sports would love to pay these women tens of millions, Because it means then they would be raking in the billion's.
I wish she could. But Bill Burr's arguments make a lot of sense. For her to be paid a lot of money, the woman's league need to make a lot of money. So all woman need to watch it. If you don't, if your female friends/family don't, then yeah, that's what stopping her to be paid equally as men.
Go watch, drag your female friends/family/etc to watch them. Now. Go buy tickets. They need real support.
The problem with womens' sports are the times they are televised. Also, the odd channels on which they are televised. No advertisement / marketing to speak of. You have to already be a die-hard fan to find a game on TV.
My highschool had a winning girls basketball team. Their games started either at 4pm on Fri or 6:30am on Sat. Why? Because the boys team (which hasn't had a winning season in over 15 years) took precedence. So, their games were on Fri nights or Sat nights, when most parents were off work.
The women’s side in Wrexham is not even fully pro afaik. Plenty of opportunities in Britain but no Welsh teams whatsoever in the WSL.

She’s a dual sport star, leading Canada’s women’s hockey and soccer teams for years, but her football achievements make her the GOAT, and I don’t care whether you want to compare her to women or men. She’s the striker from hell and Wrexham would be lucky to have her as a coach.
