This show went from an authoritarian state to state of democratic rebellion into a communist utopia and then to a dystopia ending in a coup of one of the original revolutionaries. And I loved every second of it.

I did not expect Brydon to steal the quiz like this, having seen him before and not been wowed, but now it's one of the most memorable show-long bits. Amazing.
i think it's because there was no one who outshined him and was able to do more. the other time i saw him was when him russell brand was on it's really hard to get noticed and do something funny when he draws all attention just for breathing
His style of humor kinda requires him to take over the conversation and make long thought out speeches and a lot of times show formats like this dont let him do that
I think Rob is an acquired taste. I never used to be much of a fan but recently I've been thinking he' actually really funny and genuinely a great host or guest.
Ayaode can with ease, I havent seen a clip where Richard is left speechless, I cant think of a comedian who can. But I think that has more to do with Richards intelligence, he knows when he can pick a fight and make a few jokes and when he cant.
😹😹 Rob was MADE to be a host! He’s the kinda host I’d watch. Not these celebrity hosts who just Try to be funny when they’re not. He can adapt to anything and he got great comedic timing that goes With whatever he’s on. Pure excellence.
I found Russell Brand as being really fu**ing annoying. For me Russell's 'revolution' was childish, unfunny and cringy where as Rob was more methodical and his 'revolution' had more substance and context, which made it more funny and enjoyable.
Credit to someone for coming up with a new humorous take other than the rather tired ‘pretend we’re really stupid and give silly answers really earnestly’ that Richard and Noel pull off very well and no one else really manages
I remember Rob did a similar thing on Would I Lie To You when Angus Deayton was presenting and Rob was a guest panellist on David's team. It was like Rob became the presenter without Angus realising it! Maybe that was why Rob immediately became the presenter when Angus left the show!
For those who are not familiar with Rob Briton’s carrier: He attended the panel show WILTY as a contestant in series 2. During that episode he was quite the dominant character. This episode of BFQ is teasing that incident. th-cam.com/video/VjFCRkZmQT4/w-d-xo.html
I suspect by the end, the "cause fuck you dude" was a lot more genuine than the playing along that came before. Like, up until Rob actually took over the podium, Jimmy was treating it like a jaded school teacher letting the class clown jabber. "I'll let you mouth off as long as you stay in your chair, but you came up to my spot and now I'm going to flunk you because I'm the one with the grade book." Edit: on review, I had the sequence reversed. I stand by my overall interpretation but the thing that shifted Jimmy from "hah hah" to "fuck you dude" must have been more subtle.

"You're trying a coup"
David Mitchell is such a gem
"Thanks for having us on."
Richard Ayoade's deadpan is #lifegoals
The best part loll
FloraWest ahaha how good
Lol yea that part made me laugh like a mf 😄🤣😂🤣
I love how Richard gets on board at the very first signs of Rob taking over (6:37)
I love how rob tries to peer pressure Jimmy into giving Greg and Richard the point for peer pressure, and Jimmy never caught on what he was doing
BAHAHAHAH
Madness. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh Jimmy caught on alright. But Jimmy has an evil heart
"If you got it right, you got it right." "Well, that happened before." Man I love Richard Ayoade.
I don't get it, do you mind explaining?
StillRooney he's referencing the earlier instance where they believed they got the answer right but Jimmy didn't award the point.
I see, thanks!
No worries 😊
Credit must also go to Jimmy, who pretty much put the ball right in front of Richard. ;)
When he replaced jimmy at the podium my brain doesnt even question it

7:15 is my favourite bit, where Jimmy realises something very wrong is happening
Alternate title: The panelists unionise.

Rob is the true King of Britain
Tbh Jimmy's also a good sport. He kinda did let it play out
He knows good TV when he sees it.
Doesn't really have a choice
Any good professional knows it’s not about being the funniest, it’s about making the show as funny as possible
Absolutely - Great bit. Felt impromptu.
I mean, everyone pitched into the narrative, because it was a great narrative.

interesting is't it as I find Rob really annoying especially on WILTY
I love how much fun they're all having. One of the best moments in the show.
Richard, Rob, David and Jimmy have some of the best comedic timing out there
@7:34 "Oh this is some bullshit now" That special moment when you aren't quite sure if Jimmy is actually getting annoyed or not.
Of course Jimmy is getting annoyed. Incredibly rude by Rob.

He did a much better job of playing revolutionary at the quiz than Russell Brand did
Russell was being an anarchist, but Rob was trying a power play.
It's what you get when you know how to organise a revolution not meme about one ;)
More subtle about it. Enjoyed both though.
They just have different approaches - Russell is more overt, while Rob is bringing the system down from within...
I found Russell Brand as being really fu**ing annoying. For me Russell's 'revolution' was childish, unfunny and cringy where as Rob was more methodical and his 'revolution' had more substance and context, which made it more funny and enjoyable.
This is a better level of television, actually
This was my favorite thing that happened in the history of BFQ so I'm glad that someone finally compiled it together
For me it's Corden and Whitehall acting like Lords, drinking wine and ordering pizza but this is a close second xD
Fortunately for Jimmy, he is the only host in Britain who is as good as Rob, so his job is probably safe.
Edit: Can't believe I forgot about Fry!
stephen fry
Yes, but for different reasons. Rob and Jimmy are comparable.
Simon Amstell.
Thomas Yates he was way too aggressive a lot of times
Fry??
Jimmy's brain malfunctioned on this episode

I don't know how many times I've watched this. Rob is so quick.
Now I want a WILTY with Jimmy hosting and Cats Does Countdown with Rob hosting.
They should constantly be trying to over throw each other as hosts
Greg crying for points then goes on to be a dictator on taskmaster is so hilarious.
I've seen Zayn Malik play the harpsichord, and he really did deserve to take that bad boy solo.
The same strategy Rob used to become the host of WILTY, cheeky bastard xD
