I am 71 years old and you are my hero. I try to be as connect as you are. Thanks. I watch a lot of videos about solo camping and you and Simon a bloke in the woods are the people who I enjoy watching. Thank you
Hello Mr. Budnick. You have no idea how important the content you make really is. Your videos are the reason I open TH-cam. You are living my dream. I hope to visit Canada and meet you someday. You are an inspiration!
I massively respect the fact that you don't let yourself get stopped by the rain or a bad weather forecast, it shows true commitment and grit. I love watching your videos, keep doing what you're doing!
Rarely do I actually leave comments, but after this video I just had to. I've started watching around a year ago, and ever since this channel has sort of became a little "safe haven" for me. I absolutely love your videos and how simple yet thoughtfully put-together they are. The static camera shots of the landscape, the campfire, and every other small detail are all part of your amazing style of videos.
It's you that we keep coming back to your videos for. Not just the nature. Not just the challenges you put yourself through. It's you Xander. Your solo videos are where your personality shines. My kids and I both love watching you and have for years now. Tell Gustavo we all said hello lol and please.. please.. never stop man🤙🏼
It's so funny to lie down and rest while eating bibimbap That's definitely not the amount you eat alone . haha It's the amount that many Koreans eat together.
He threw a whole bunch straight from the supermarket. Definitely not for 1 pack/person. But he finished up after lying down in between eating 😂. Good one though... life is not supposed to be serious all the time.
I'm Korean. Been camping in Ontario over 20 yrs and never made Bibimbap. My mouth is watering after watching yhis. I'm heading to Killarney next week. Y'all know what I'll be eating!!
I’ve been laid up this last year with health issues…your channel has kept me sane, seeing and hearing all of the beautiful places, with your humor and great cooking. Thank you!
It's been raining for almost 4 months where I live in Wales. I'm sitting here enjoying a whisky watching TH-cam, debating what kind of camp I'm going to do tomorrow night. After watching this, I think it's going to be a tarp camp in the rain. Nice one, mate! Great video.
Best Channel on TH-cam by far! Xander you inspire me to embrace nature and get out into primitive wilderness whenever I can. Keep up the great work, you're a beacon of hope for the camping community and our natural world.
My cousin loves Bibimbab a lot, seeing you eat it on your camping reminds me of her. Her mix for the sauce is: 1 tbsp gochang 2 tbsp sesame oil 2 tbsp soy sauce 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1/2 tbsp brown sugar Adjust taste to preference.
On my bucket list I had “ a canoe trip with Xander Budnick” ……after watching this video, I’ve realize that that’s impossible. There’s no way I can feed this guy.
I love the style of video, you can really see your feeling happier and enjoying camping again! The shots off doing knots and food and atmosphere! Positive and fun. Love it
I was having a full blown anxiety attack and found this video, the attack has subsided thanks to it and you and your peaceful good vibes and good cooking, nature heals even when you cant get to it. Thank you good dude
You are an amazing young man Xander. I just want you to know that you bring happiness to us all. Many of us suffer through things, and I just wanted you to know that you shine a bright light on all of us. Always remember that. We all have our moments, but make our way out of it through the strength we never knew existed. You've been through a lot and just know you're never alone. Many of us understand. Ty for all you're doing! 😊
You are the only channel in this genre that I watch - I’m like the least outdoorsy person on the planet. I just love your video style and how personal you get with your viewers. Keep doing you man I love it.
Man... there is something about hiking in the rain. It is peaceful to do it as long as you dress right. It's even more peaceful to watch and listen to from the comforts of my warm office. But I'd rather be in it than watching it. Great video, Xander! Love your stuff!
Xander, I keep coming back to your channel every few days to rewatch all your videos over and over and over - thank you!! I'm here for five things - (5) poop tips, (4) stunning landscapes and terrific photography, (3) wood chopping montages, (2) camp food recipes, and (1) your positive energy and great outlook on life, brother - keep it up!! You inspire so many of us from so many different walks of life ❤️
One of my favorite parts of your videos is that you never sacrifice a good meal. No matter where you go, I get hungry watching. Keep being awesome Xander :)
It’s noon on 5.11.23, I got up late, had breakfast and watched this video, Super))) And yesterday my wife and I went to the flood, this is where Lenin was hiding in a hut. Was he a bushcrafter, that’s the question))) Actually, we came We just before the rain started putting up awnings and starting a fire in the rain, just like you Xander. We were fiddling around and when we finished, the rain stopped)) And the rest of the time we calmly prepared food, ate and looked at the flocks of birds still flying in schools warm countries. Thank you buddy!!
Love the rainy videos. Great when you are prepared. I love your cooking. How have you been feeling. You inspire me. I have been sober for 12 years but sometimes it’s a struggle 😮.
I want to tell you how much we all appreciate you and the hard work you put in for us to enjoy these adventures. A lot of of will never have the time to enjoy these little adventures for ourselves so we live vicariously through you.
In my lifetime I have built thousands of fires in a wood stove, it is a whole different game in the cold wet forest. Your fire and cooking skills are extraordinary.
I wonder how many nights in the year you’ve camped out. It’s so easy to be laying on the couch watching your vids thinking, that looks so nice. I just spent 4 months camping except about 2 weeks in hotels in American west and it’s not easy! And I don’t have to worry about videoing and editing. Rain, snow, and being alone can take its toll. But the beautiful days/new places make it totally worth it. You sure earn your money man! Thanks for making such awesome vids!
As a Korean-Canadian from Montreal I gotta say your bibimbap looks legit! bonus for the eggs. Dans who knew I'd be watching a dude camping in the wildness making korean food! amazing
Xan I’m so glad you did this solo trip as well. I needed this trip. Thanks I can believe you ate all of that food it looked great. Hope everything is going well for you. Thanks for bringing me along. Safe travels my friend
Loved this video and it reminded me of some of the Japanese camping channels I’ve watched. It is all about making elaborate meals in the woods but your videos are truly Canadian. I can’t believe you didn’t even crack a smile when you were running low on wood at night and said, “it’s always nice to wake up with wood in the morning.” 😮
I really hope you continue to add in the zany bits. I personally love them, I think you pull it off really well and you have a charisma about you that you can make one laugh. I also like it when you include your failures, like the lost rod, catching your drone with fishing lure, trying to make a smoker out of a tarp.
As always, an absolutely lovely video. I haven't watched any of this summer's canoeing content yet because I save it for the middle if winter. Your videos bring me so so much joy.
Nature is beautiful and comforting. I want to go hiking and camping this Spring and summer. The peace and quiet is very nice. The food tastes better cook on a fire.
Meal fit for a king and so much of it , I’m going to cook this the weekend , looks amazing . And oh ya thanks once again for the content . I get so relaxed watching you camp . It’s a joy to watch . Thanks man . One day at a time 😊👍
Yes, we came here to see exactly that (devouring massive amounts of food) 😂 jokes aside, I love watching camp setup, the cooking, and the enjoyment the food brings you - your yummy noises included. Cooking with Xander is always a treat to watch, especially when I’m eating dinner by myself, very cosy 😄
I absolutely loved your camp video! The serene ambiance of the woods by the lake and the mouth-watering cooking really captured my attention. Please keep creating more videos - your content is truly valued . From Mauritius Island.
I have the WORST insomnia and I would fall right to sleep there ❤ I want to hear you saw the wood, the fire crackling, and the sweet smell of rain falling in that river… you don’t know the peace I would have for just one night 😢THANK YOU ( I had to subscribe )
I've been away from watching Xander's great videos for a bit. So, I'm gonna have to find out this Gustavo mystery. That surprised me haha. So glad I'm back to watching!
Full of admiration for you going out in those conditions and staying so positive throughout. You are amazing and an inspiration (having seen some of your first videos) for having gone through what you have and come out as an amazing, entertaining person. Stay positive and keep doing what you're doing and posting these videos. ❤
Hey~ I'm a guy from Korea. You had a good try, "Bibambab" which is so healthy and famous food in my country. Good luck and keep watching your channel. Let's keep in touch.
Best camping style! Especially for daytime hiking (at night, at home). Hike for a 1-2 hour, set up this camp, cook and chill for few hours, then hike back. Perfect for bad weather.
Great video you and Sam Bananas are the only ones I watch that love camping in the rain, and the food you prepare is amazing for a overniter. Thanks for your time for doing your videos
I literally just finished watching your 3 day stove hut video when this popped up. (Catching up as a new subscriber). Enjoying your channel very much and this video was no exception. Well done cooking and finishing off that meal! Great camp setup and good on you for getting out in the rain and sharing your skills. Regarding the 3 day hut tent video I thought I would share a trick I used years ago for cleaning out chimney pipes. I don't know if mothballs still contain napthalene, but a couple of them will heat a stove pipe really quick and burn the creosote and spot out. I would do this outside the tent though. A fire log might work (outside the tent too) but make sure you leave the stove door open as these logs are meant for open fireplaces only. Take care and know this older dude appreciates your content and humour😊
WOW, you make a cooking a dish at camp look so simple. I normally make a mess and burn stuff lol. Great camping adventure :) I'd likely have raccoons wondering around camp if i made such a great meal.
As a Korean, I approve of the Bibimbap...its phonetically correct. I like how you acted like you had no idea how to say it or have eaten it before. Cute.

Good lord that is the largest bowl of bibimbap I’ve ever seen someone eat. Xander, you’ve done us Koreans proud ❤
Except eating bibimbab using chopstick

It probably came out sideways. Anyway, what was with Gusti at the end of this video?

You need that amount of food if you're going to work as hard as this guy did for the video. Most people don't eat or exercise enough.
I massively respect the fact that you don't let yourself get stopped by the rain or a bad weather forecast, it shows true commitment and grit. I love watching your videos, keep doing what you're doing!
Is it weird that I prefer camping in the rain

Man, the vibes of the colder weather videos are so different from the canoe trips, both are special in their own ways.
A food orgy in the rain. Comforting. I'm always in awe of your impressive knot tying too. It all comes together so naturally. Well done Xander!
