I built a ruined bridge for WARHAMMER

- In this video I take some scrap foam left over from a terrain building workshop that I ran late last year and combine it with a bunch of broken 3D prints to create an elevated walk way diorama for Warhammer. Using our Slice & Slot system means that its easy for you to replicate this exact build if you want to. links to our My Mini Factory store are down below.
If you want to check out Slice & Slot for yourself you can grab the files over on MyMiniFactory

Your stuff is so good. Thank you for inspiring the rest of us.
Thanks for the kind words Andy!
Really good job. You've given me several ideas, especially after bringing up the fact that there would be a line of debris running out at each end of the bridge/aqueduct. Thanks, and keep up the good work!!!
The only negative about slice and slot is you never get round to building anything other than Gondor type ruins once you get your hands on it
Maybe we will just have to design some pieces for a different setting… 🧐
@@microforgeminis well sir. You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention
Would love to see some Mordheim-esque stuff 👁👁@@microforgeminis
@@eyyohbee you aren’t the first person to suggest mordheim as the next stop on the slice and slot train…
Another amazing video!!! So happy to see more of these coming out and seeing the channel grow is awesome!!
Haha cheers mate glad you are enjoying the videos! Already on to the next one. In to the swing of things now!
Stunning as always man. Currently printing a million bits for my ruined village project 😀
Cheers mate. Can’t wait to see that ruined village come to life!
Another great tutorial! Can't wait to do some like this for my river boards
Lovely piece and great weathering effects for the icing on the cake :)
Thank you! Yeah I am really enjoying the weathering process at the moment. Its fast but really effective at breaking up the monotonous grey of the stonework
This is fantastic mate! Video production is top notch and so cool to see your workshop so well attended. Such a beautiful end result too, gotta love a sexy terrain piece! 🤩
You are too kind mate. I just look at what all you other fancy TH-camrs do and then try in vain to copy that! The workshop was a lot of fun. Will hopefully get around to running another one this year.
I don’t have failed prints. That’s a luxury problem
Love how you have used the broken pieces 😊😊😊
It always feels good when you find a use for some broken pieces. It feels like crafting for free!
@@microforgeminis absolutely!!!
Awesome build!
Realistically speaking, those spindly columns would not be able to hold all that weight for long.
Yeah look sometimes we just have to suspend disbelief to uphold the rule of cool 😂
@@microforgeminis Agreed!
This may be the first downside I’ve hit with sturdier resin - my bits don’t split nicely on the mortar lines, they keep giving me big pointy bits
They very much do shoot across the room 😂😂
You might need to over cure your prints to get them to work. I usually cure my slice and slot for a minimum of 10 minutes. I didn’t want to send any backers under cured resin so I cured it more than I normally would.
@@microforgeminis oh nice tip, thank you!
Love all of these builds. The slice and slot method looks so good. I’m curious about how you fit the window piece in a wall. Does the wall need to be in two sections and then glued down on top to let the window frame slot in before gluing down? The answer is probably really obvious? 😂
Great question and yes. If you want a window mid way up a wall the easiest way to do it cleanly is to have a top and bottom section of the wall that is glued together once the window is in place.
I don’t have a 3 d printer so exchanged a load of old 40K Epic models with a mate who does and in return he has bought me the booster pack to print windows and doors etc. but the Booster pack doesn’t have the templates for the Mdf arches etc. can these be bought separately as I work for a timber merchant and we have a Cnc machine.
I just ordered all my slice and slot gear and materials ready for next weekend of hobbying, I'm so excited!!
Could I ask which airbrush air compressor you use?
Awesome to hear! I use the generic air compressor that most people find on eBay. It cost me about $110 AUD and works fine. Make sure you get one that has a tank is my only advice but the brand doesn’t really matter / it’s generic off brand. I use the iwata hp-cs it’s probably too good for my basic skill level but it clogs less than the cheap $20 one I began using. If it’s too expensive to get a good brush and a compressor at the same time I would still advise getting the compressor and a cheap brush to start with while you save up for a expensive airbrush at least you can still be getting used to it. Maybe just focus on only running inks through the cheap one to avoid clogging 😅
@@microforgeminis ah great, thank you, I'll take a look. I have an air compressor already but has no tank and can only really use it outside. I'm getting fed up of airbrushing outside in British winter so your nice cosy indoor spraying looked really appealing 😂 good to know about the airbrush brand you use too cos my cheap one is a bit too cheap. so many thanks.
Have been really impressed with the slice and slot concept and all it's intrigation with the components, different materials, jigs and tools, as well as TH-cam content. I've studied design for many years and I find the whole product service system you have created really satisfying and fun! Really looking forward to trying it out this month
Is there anywhere to get the MDF jigs now that the kickstarter is finished?
Yes we have some left over from the Kickstarter. If you send me a message on Instagram or Facebook we can sort something out. Even if I just put you in touch with a local merchant (depending on where you live) 🙂
