Fantastic idea mate. Really neat concept that I think is going to be a really great way for any skill level of hobbies to make some custom terrain for the hobby. I really can’t wait to get in and make some terrain when mine finally arrives in the post later on. Keen to see what you come up with bext
Thanks for the kind words mate! I’m so happy to see people getting behind the idea and I’m super keen to see what everyone else comes up with once they have their pieces!
@@microforgeminis the concept will enable some unique ideas. Can’t wait to flex the creative muscles. Are you planning a community page or something where people can share their creations? It might even create some designs people will want to copy themselves.
Brilliant tutorial and looks like a great easy to use system! I'm a bit late to the party but plan on glueing the jigs soon and making something before the new year. I've just looked through the stl files and was like a kid in a sweet shop, so many amazing pieces in the base and add on set. Thank you for bringing this to us, it will make my crafting easier, quicker and look amazing!
@@microforgeminis jigs went together easy as! Great instructions 🤩 First pieces underway. What I’m thinking about first is a set of standalone doors and doorways. My husband currently uses a set of old Hero Quest cardboard doors and they love falling over. I’m planning on doors and doorways with an inch or so of brickwork around each edge, with a zig zag type style of one brick in / one brick (not sure if that makes sense). Basically enough foam to encourage stability and some perception of wall..
I am really looking forward to getting my hands on this! Your buildings are simply stunning! They actually look better than the Games Workshop ruins in the Battle of Osgiliath. Even more impressive is the potential for future products for your company to create (yes, that is a hint). 😁
The example of the three window arches: these are on the ground. How would you place a window in the middle of the stone work? Just glue the bottom part back in?
Yes I will cover that in the next video but essentially you slice out the entire length of wall beneath, slice and slot the window in and then glue the bottom section of the wall back in.
I do have a question. I am getting just stl files, so when I print these on resin printer, how well do they hold up? I would imagine maybe a FDM printed jig would prob be stronger.
You can print them on a resin printer but they are more suited to FDM printers. Also we will be including the laser cutting files as part of the digital pledge level (this was added after the launch) if you have a maker space nearby or a friendly laser cutting company, they will be able to cut them for you
@@microforgeminis a follow up to that question: would it be possible to provide a printable (oldschool on paper) version with the good proportions of these jigs for the buyers of the stl package? As I do not have the possibility for a laser cut and would just like to produce the jigs by myself using a paper template. Or maybe just a file with the dimensions of the jigs to reproduce them.
@@duder6665 yes of course! I might do an official post on the Kickstarter page outlining all the ways the jigs can be made. The laser cutting files are sized for A4 to help with shipping. So they will easily print out on paper at A4 too!
yeah there comes a point where having a jig for everything can actually slow you down. Plus I like to make my vertical lines all change in size a bit otherwise it starts to feel more like a brick wall rather than a medieval stone wall.
Love your product. Love your tutorial. But please, please... get rid of the painfully loud music in your transitions. Your videos would be so much better without it! Keep up the great work, super excited for this KS and to see what you come out with in the future! :)
Hahaha what can I say! I am an absolute rookie when it comes to making videos. Thanks for the feedback I will definitely work on this for the next video 🙂
This man is a bloody natural in front of camera.
Love what your doing mate.

Awww shux thanks mate
wooohoo first .. cant wait for these.
Nice taplet you make
Can't wait to get it!
Got my laser cut jigs back from an amazing friend, they cut and assembled perfectly, I was honestly amazed how well they fit together.
Glad they fit together well. Now the real fun can begin!
These are so cool! The idea behind it all is just fantastic.
Thanks mate!

Thank you! That is high praise indeed! And don’t worry I have plenty of plans to expand the range down the line!
I missed this Kickstarter. 😞
Fear not! we are still taking late pledges for the digital files over on MyMiniFactory www.myminifactory.com/campaigns/slice-slot-1580

Ooh look at you go with your fancy intro! I didn’t even glue mine. Probably a good idea though! 😅
hahaha I only glued mine for the video... I've been rocking unglued jigs for months!

Any plans for more 40k style slice and slot?
There are still a few more fantasy settings I want to explore before we try and tackle anything sci fi related. But one day…
is this available for sale somewhere? Like the physical product
Where are you based in the world? We have some merchants across the world who are selling them. If you are in Australia let me know.
@@microforgeminis I’m in the Netherlands!
is there a way to buy these mdf jigs now?
Yes we still have some jigs left over from the Kickstarter. Drop me an email microforgeminiatures@gmail.com and I can sort you out with some.
@@microforgeminis if i understand on myminifactory, i can buy the package as the stl files and the jigs files at the same time?
Can the jigs and .stl files still be purchased now that the kickstarter period has ended?
Yes we are just setting up a late pledge option over on MyMini Factory. It should be launched in the next day or so.
What about doing vertical lines quickly !!!!...i think we'll have to do them the old fashioned way......
