I thought this too when I was pregnant but when I was finally full term, I decided to pump to get that colostrum and so I worked for it. I messaged my breasts before and during the pumping process. I had nothing on my first day of trying but I kept going anyway and eventually baby was born about a week later and it was difficult to pump some out at the hospital but at least I had some colostrum i had already pumped before going into labor. I did have to use formula while staying there and that’s okay because soon as I got home I was on my pump and have been pumping every 3-4 hours including in the nights just so my supply continues to go up. I have a 10 day old baby girl now :)) and have 28oz in da fridge

when storing milk in the fridge, do you count the day pumped as a day? for example if i pump on 4/12 is the milk good til 4/15 or 4/16? Cause 4/12-4/15 is 72 hours, but 2/12-4/16 is 96 hours. 4 days is 96 hours but i feel confused lol

I have a question so if I take frozen milk from the freezer at 2pm and it doesn’t defrost till 2am does the 24hrs start from 2am? I’m just trying to get a better understanding the next question is if I thaw the breastmilk in warm water the whole bag is not good any more after 4hrs? What if I only use a portion of that and leave the other half for the next feeding? I have also pumped left it in the fridge for a few hours then froze it later that night because it was never used is that not ok? Sorry for all the questions just wondering

Question: My son is 2 weeks old and immediately, I was told to start pumping after each feeding. But only end up with 1 tbsp - 0.5oz, I didn't want to be storing milk in a freezer bag with less than an 0.5 oz or less. What I did is store it in the refrigerator and add all my small pours until it reached an 1 oz. Is this wrong? And why?? How will it harm my baby?
