Hi doc my tanung lang po ako ung nakalagay po b n milk na nasa freezer pde po b ulit dagdagn po un for example bka 50ml lng ko hinde ko napuno kinabukasan ko dagdagn ko ulit ung pinanump ko na brestmil pde po b un para mapuni

Hi doc. I stored 150mL of breastmilk in a storage bag and then froze it. Then I thawed everything in the fridge. After it has liquified, i distributed everything in 3 bottles (50mL each) and placed it back to the fridge (to be consumed in 24hrs). Is this practice okay? Thank you!

Hello doc just want to ask if i can combine for example my 9:00pm expressed 2oz milk that i left at room temperature and my 11pm freshly expressed 3oz milk? Before i put it in the ref? So i get a total of 5oz milk?
Yes. Freshly expressed breast milk can be kept at room temperature for up to six hours. However, it's optimal to use or properly store the breast milk within four hours, especially if the room is warm.

It can stay in room temp for 4 hours and you can give it on the next feeding.

Hi doc. After thawing should I warm the whole bag of milk first and swirl or to take out only quantity of milk i want to warm and feed? Suppose if its 4-6 oz bag and for every feeding i want 2oz so should i take out only 2oz everytime and warm -swirl and feed or everytime warm the whole bag?
And also before back to work when should i start storing milk ? How many weeks ago ? And how much to store maximum before back to work if its 8 hour shift.
How would you take out the 2oz of milk that you need? I may be concerned with contamination so its better to warm the whole bag at a time.
As much as you can. And you can start as early as possible.

Hello Doctor, we have a refridgerator with single door.. I froze my breastmilk before a month, in little quatities and in storage bags. I have noticed twice that the stored milk, when I feed my baby, she used to cry puke or make faces.. I had to check and I noticed that the milk changed its taste and it was terrible. To determine if fresh and that one tastes the same, I checked both and was surprised to find that the frozen ones were terrible lol.. What am I doing wrong?? We dont open the freezer much
It can happen with storage in the freezer. Try checking the taste of the milk before feeding your baby.

Yes you can do it once. Although once thawed, better give it to baby to drink.

If you'd like to add your most recently pumped fresh milk to a bottle of already refrigerated milk pumped on the same day, you need to cool it down. First, place the fresh breast milk into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to an hour. Then, once it is cool, you can add it to the other container of refrigerated milk.

Hi, Mixing freshly expressed breast milk with already cooled or frozen milk is not advised because it can rewarm the older stored milk.

Yes you can transfer the milk from the insulated bag to the freezer

Yes, you can do that.
Breastmilk from cooler to the freezer is ok.
Regarding thawing, you can do the warm thawing method.Submerge the sealed container of frozen breast milk in the warm water. Ensure that the container is watertight to prevent any water from entering and contaminating the milk. Gently swirl the container in the water occasionally to help distribute the heat and speed up the thawing process. Continue thawing until the breast milk reaches the desired temperature for feeding.

You can try pumping every 3 hrs for about a week. This is called dry pumping. And hopefully your milk will come. There are cases where this can happen.
