So my 81 year old father just bought the Xt5. He probably was more intimidated by the screen in Xt4 and liked having more room. I test drove w/him. Seemed like a smoother ride to both of us. 2 wks later I bought the Xt4. I liked the 33”screen, it looked more modern and we both have virtually exact same options. He has premium luxury I have sport. We both love them. One thing I’ve never heard anyone mention in reviews is Xt5 has 3 positions of recline in the back seats, it’s awesome. And Made in America!! Wish they’d advertise that more. Great small and midsize luxury options. He Paid $56k and I paid$53k before rebates. We both feel they were worth it for what we got.

I traded in my 2017 XT5 for a 2024 XT5. I loved the upgraded tech of the XT4, but I just couldn’t bring myself to downsize. And this may sound like the pickiest little detail that nobody ever mentions, but I don’t like that the XT4’s cupholders aren’t covered. I love that the XT5 has the sliding cup holder cover. It just looks so much better in my opinion. Anyway, I’m happy with my choice! The ride is so smooth and I got the white with black interior which always looks so clean and classy.

Yeah we agree and found it even more disappointing that it's not going to be updated next year either which we mentioned in our XT5 review after reaching out to GM
Well, they did....for China. Originally, we weren't going to get that here in the US because they were going all EV. Now that they are delaying that move, Cadillac did say we should be getting the updated XT5. Hopefully it'll still be made in TN and that we don't get the MIC one.
@@jeffs6090 we did reach out to Cadillac about this because we knew China was getting the updated version and we were told not for 2025 unfortunately which is disappointing.
Reliability is extremely hard to predict, however, usually when a model gets a big refresh (like the XT4) they tend to have more issues in their early years. On the opposite side of the spectrum, if a model has not been changed in a few years, that usually increases the reliability. Look at the Toyota RAV4, it's an old model and very reliable when compared to the new Tacoma that is having tons of issues.
Like the screen in the XT4 better, but prefer the V6 and cargo room of the Xt5 . Also the 4 cylinder despite better milage, still needs premium fuel whilst the V6 can use cheaper regular fuel. So in that regard fuel running costs will be roughly almost the same . Great review though. Cheers!
@@tylermarshall1643 Thanks Tyler, very true on Al fronts and we were a bit disappointed when we contacted GM to see if N-A would get the refreshed XT5 for 2025 like China got and were told No.... But it is a more reliable choice given that it has not been refreshed in a while.
I appreciate the comparisons! Coming out of my 2023 Yukon Denali. My adult sons are 6’5” and 6’6” I wonder if they will fit in the XT4? They love for me to be their chauffeur when we hang out.
@@loiseywillis3997 WOW, what do you feed them? Lol I did some research for you to compare the XT4 to your current Yukon for rear passengers. Yukon has 42" of leg room and 38.9" of head room. An odd comparison. The XT4 vs 5 was designed primarily for capacity. It's like comparing a sedan vs a station wagon. A better comparison would be the Buick Envision vs the XT5 or the Enclave vs the XT6. In theory Cadillac is supposed to offer more luxury, but on paper that seems to no longer be true and thus the comparison would be appropriate and appreciated.
@@mubeenD I would love to. This comparison took place because we happened to luck out and have these two vehicles the same week. Since we're a small channel, press vehicles are hard to come by and having two in a week is almost impossible for us but yes those would be great comparisons to do. 😢 made a cash purchase of a new XT4 two years ago. It was nothing but a nightmare. there was a rattle in the dash that would not go away, had to battle with the dealer to finally get it fixed. then the bumper separated from the body of the car and I gave up and traded it in. It was just as noisy as my 16 year-old Toyota Yaris. if you want a quiet ride do not buy a XT4.😢
Oh man... that is really unfortunate.
