    People have been saying raw meat will make cats sick like us humans! Thanks for showing I was right that they can! Cats are CARNIVORES and eat birds and mice and other wildlife without being cooked so how is raw chicken and stuff any different? Awesome video!

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  ปีที่แล้ว +59

      Exactly! Cats actually have a short digestive system that is super acidic. So bacteria have a hard time getting them sick. Also if you use quality meat from a good source it’s hard for them to get sick. Love your comment :)

      Thats tru they can eat raw meat without any problems
      But humans can do that too, the problem is in wild life cats eat fresh meat mostly they kill kt and eat it instant
      Thats not always the case with our meat we can buy at the supermarket its not always that fresh

    I’ve always wanted to switch my cats food to raw feed but all I ever saw as recipes/examples were putting bunch of meat and organs with bunch of bones through a blender etc. I don’t have such a strong blender, nor do I have the money to get one strong enough to deal with bones. I give my cat raw chicken wings and she’ll eat the whole thing. No need for the blender. Plus, I think it’s necessary for cats to use their teeth to chew. It will keep them healthy and strong and it will also help to keep their jaw strong.

      I just looked it up its in Europe right? I think the wet food version looks pretty good from the looks of it. The ingredients seem whole and not byproduct. So for raw food you can either make yourself like I do which is quite time consuming. I do it just so its super fresh and my cats love to watch me make their food. You could buy a premade raw food which can be easier for you. Key when choosing is where they source their meat, and if they had any recalls. Can you add few spoons of homemade beef stock to this? How did you arrive at this nutritional composition and product selection? Why no salmon in your menu?
    Also regarding prep, have you ever ground all this together and froze portions or are you buying fresh all the time?

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Omar some good questions. I do add beef or chicken bone broth but one with no added ingredients. Cats can't have thinks like garlic or onion in their food. It is toxic for them. The nutritional composition is mimicking the whole prey diet cats would eat in the wild. So just plain meat may not have something like the calcium unless you add bone.
      I sometimes give them Salmon, but it is sashimi human grade salmon, which means it is flash frozen to kill parasites.
      So I don't ground the meat, I cut them up and freeze their meals in a container. I just like my cats to chew on meat and use their teeth, so thats is why I chop vs ground meat. So every 2 weeks I buy meat and chop and meal prep for my cats, then freeze the meals.
      Hope that helps!

    So do you give the calcium supplement AND raw bone? I see the calcium supplement is 250mg per capsule and I need to feed my cat 12.5g of bone per day per the calculator. I’m having trouble finding a butcher who can grind bones so I want to use the supplement. To give 12.5g per day, that would be 50 capsules. I’m confused

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Kailee that is a good question! So you can either give them raw bone or a calcium supplement. Which ever is easy for you! The calcium supplement is super concentrated calcium. so 50 capsules doesn't apply. So you most likely at most feed your cat one to 1.5 calcium pill per meal. Hope that helps!

I know my breeder feeds her cats chicken wings with the bones ground up and whole quails, but as of now I cannot find a butcher near me who can grind the bones or sells quails, so I am thinking of just using the supplements (1 capsule per meal)

      Oh congrats on your new bengal kitten! They are a beautiful breed. So I just use the supplements since it is easier. Hello, I just have a few questions! I have a male tabby cat (no specific breed, I suppose), and he's five, turning six, this August. He weighs around seventeen pounds, and that's with me giving him smaller portions after adopting him. Obviously it wasn't immediate, it took some time, but my family has watched a documentary about cat and dog kibble, and how much harmful ingredients they actually put into it. I'm concerned for my cat, and I want him to live the healthiest and happiest life I can give him, and I have heard that there are more benefits for my furry friend from raw meats. After watching this video, I believe that Dude (my cat) will be much more better off with eating meats and not treats or kibble that are FLAVORED after meats, lol. Anywho, I was curious on if my cat would be able to eat the same meats as your cats, and how much I should give to him. I feed him twice a day (once at seven a.m and once at five-six p.m because of my work hours) and I have given him smaller portions because of his weight, as well as his sensitive stomach. He tends to throw up when I accidentally over feed him, and that's one of the other reasons on why I'm working on giving him food to help with his weight. He's not very active unless it's at night, but I'm not awake to help him get the exercise that he needs. Anyways, I think that wraps up my questions. I believe that you have the link to where you get your meats in your video description? I'm looking into these things.

    I'm a bit confused by the math in the example. The total food for the day was 650 grams, but the chicken thighs and heart alone made up 650 grams, and the end total for the whole plate was over 750 grams. Plus, if heart is essential in their diet, why not just make an easier ratio of 60/20/10/5/5? Even if heart is a muscle, if I have to calculate at least 15% of 84% every time I measure, it makes more sense to round it up and make it its own ratio, no?

      Elvira that ratio works too! So the total amount daily varies based on your cat's age. I believe when I was doing it Teemo was roughly a kitten stage. • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Hey good questions. So cats have highly acidic digestive systems. They are carnivores after all in the wild. This acidity makes them pathogen resistant. They also have a short digestive tract that gives bacteria little time to proliferate in their systems. Food passes through in about 13 hours, compared to two to three times that long for a human. If a cat ingests salmonella bacteria, it has a good chance of not being affected by it. Keep in mind this applies to a healthy cat; resistance can be severely diminished in a cat that is ill.
      The concern is more about the people in the household, most of the emphasis on safe handling is to protect humans. hope this helps!

    My cats would never go for it. For some odd reason they dislike people food. They only like their crunchies and when I tried raw on the one he got sick. Maybe my cats are broken. lol

      So the commercial cat food they add a very addictive ingredient in it so it’s why transitioning is difficult. But when changing to a new diet cats need to adjust. So give it a little time and you will be surprised and how they adapt to it!

    Im a deer hunter and i was wondering if it would be safe for my cat to eat venison kidneys and livers. I dont usually eat them myself but i try to save them rather than discarding them.

      Hey good question! So cats can eat venison, but if it’s wild I recommend cooking them so parasites are removed. Hope that helps!

      My cat loves deer liver. Since I won’t ever eat it he gets all of it. I don’t raw feed my cat every day but he’s not picky at all
