- Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones has a very distinctive sound, that he gets with a combination of a Telecaster, often an open G tuning, and very specific chord voicings. In this video I go over 3 songs that use his most common open G tuning with the low E string removed. Included are chords charts and Tabs so you can play along!

Mr. Parker I love your new format of showing the chords on screen as you play them. Amazing musical background stories behind each song too boot! Fantastic. Looking forward to more lessons like this. Cheers! 👍👍
Thanks! I wasn't sure how it would be received!
I tune my Guitar to Open E and put a Capo on the 3rd Fret to get Open G Terz Tuning which adds some brightness
Favourite stones song Can’t you hear me knocking! Glad I stumbled onto this site . Gonna plug in the Les Paul and give it a go thanks
I really enjoyed your video. I learned a lot. Thank you.
For years I gave up on trying to learn 'Stones tunes out of frustration. Once Open G was revealed to me it changed my guitar playing completely. I now play all sorts in open G. Try "Should I stay or should I go" by the Clash in open G. Thank me later😁
You could get a set of Dunlap 7 gauge strings (Ultra Lights) put them on the Guitar and use Open G Terz Tuning (GDGBDG) which is more like as if you took your Standard Open E Tuned Guitar and put a Capo on the 3rd Fret. It does give an interesting Keith Richards meets Billy Corgan Vibe. The Reverend Electric Terz Guitar might allow you to use Open G Terz Tuning.
A genuine masterclass! Thank you, Anthony! Greetings from Madrid, Spain!
Hello Fernando! thanks for tuning in
The Stones should never have caved in to the permanently offended regarding Brown Sugar. It’s a timeless classic.
