Dirty loops is when every member is the best musician in the band
Same with Dream Theater! 👌🏻
I see this comment in every review…… because it is absolutely true! I can’t think of another group that this could be said about
Rock You and/or Follow the Light Next. Those are solid stank face songs. Work Shit Out will flat our just melt your face.
‘Follow the Light’ and ‘thriller’ by dirty loops with Cory Wong. You can’t go wrong.
Work Shit Out has to be next!!
Or Hit Me! WSO may be too much as a 3rd song :)!
I saw them in Denver last Friday and my body is still vibrating due to the musicianship. Take a look at "work Shit Out" next. You won't be disappointed.
I was there too! Such an incredible show!
Sounds AWESOME!!! 💥
I was at that show. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
@@erinmoya3658 👍🔥👍
"Work Shit Out" and "Coffee Break Is Over" will define Dirty Loops to anyone (th-cam.com/video/r_GTgpdoCh0/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/aYYFmp9NBTk/w-d-xo.html)
This is the appropriate response to this song! I'm sure somebody already mentioned the gospel "choir" is all just Jonah layering dozens of tracks. His arrangements and vocal ability are off the charts. Just wait till you hear "Work Shit Out" and realize his piano skills are also off the charts! The man is a god.
“Work Shit Out” is the mandatory next stop on your journey down this rabbit hole. Congrats on stumbling onto the three best musicians in the world!
You guys should for sure pump out more videos before you see them live.
1 Work shit out. 2 Rock you. 3 Follow the light. 4 World on fire. 5 Hit me.
Yes, that is a very good list!
They do all of those in the show. I just saw them in Salt Lake City. So much fun!!
Don’t forget Thriller!
1. Work Shit Out - straight up technical masterpiece
2. Rock You - more typical hit song structure filled with musicianship, funk, pop and lyrics you won’t stop singing.
These guys are jazz/classically trained.
If you love Run Away, you will definitely faint on "Follow the Light" from their collab with Cory Wong.
But again, NONE of their songs are bad. Indeed they are ALL masterpieces.
Hahaha, yes, that is the appropriate reaction to this band. :D
Aron (drums) isn't really singing on this track though, it's just for show in the video. All the vocals are Jonah. To me this whole song just screams of Toto, and considering that's one of the bands the drummer often cites as one of his main influences growing up, and he has written quite a bit of the song, that might not be so surprising.
Henrik (bass) said the following about writing and recording this song, in an interview in Bass Magazine:
Q: “Next to You” has a cool, halftime-shuffle feel and a gospel choir component.
A: "That song took forever to write. Aron and I wrote the chorus in 2016. We found it in a drawer and tried a bunch of new verses with it until we got the right one. Then at the last minute, Aron wrote the gospel choir parts. He sent a very funny demo in which he marked where all the different gospel parts come in and what kind of voice they had. When Jonah recorded them, he had a chalkboard with all the different characters in the choir, and he distorted his voice to match each character and so none of them would sound like him. The groove has our typical, swung-funk, triplet feel, but the key is the Bootsy funk formula of having a heavy one to make all the subdivisions after it work. Aron wrote the chorus bass line, which is keyboard bass-like, and it worked best with a combination of fingers and slapping."
Fantastic story, thanks for sharing ❤
Next ... I'd check out Work Shit Out. You haven't even scratched the surface of their virtuosity... believe it or not! Also... Follow The Light [w/ Cory Wing]... & Thriller. Can't wait to witness your reaction. Enjoy!!
Totally agree! But be careful with the mental sanity aftermath after watching Work Shit Out :)!
Did you guys see them live??? If so, keep going, watch Breakdown, Rock you, Hit Me, go down the rabbit hole, please!
And that’s how you enjoy Dirty Loops! 😃👏🏻 I always break a sweat listening to this song, all the emotions 😅 such a fun reaction guys! Hope you enjoy the concert. Maybe you wont get the chance for more first reactions but if you do I recommend Follow the Light, Work Shit Out or Hit me. ✌🏻
This has gotta be one of the funniest reactions to Dirty Loops, again!!
It’s priceless, seeing the two of you blown away by these nasty dudes 🤣😂😅
Yes, it’s just the three of them, with their wall of sound, a percussionist and fantastic sound engineer behind the scenes, and loads of creativity, fun and skill.
There is a great interview with Henrik on Bass Magazine/Songified, where he explains a bit about the making of these songs on their Phoenix album. I hope Lotta can tell you more ;)
In short, Jonah does ALL of the vocals including backing and ‘choirs’, himself on this track. Aron and Henrik are just goofing around for the camera. Can’t take anything you see from these guys seriously cause they’re just out to take the piss 🤣
Unless you see them live of course, for which I totally envy you!!!
Have a blast guys! 💥💥💥
And check out their track “Work Shit Out”, some more insane and goosebumps-inspiring stuff 👍✌️🤘✌️👍
JT would’ve taken note of these gentlemen cause they did a cover of his Sexy Back ;)
WORK SHIT OUT is a masterpiece, a musical genre clinic
Boys, Dirty Loops is a rabbit hole with no bottom and no ceiling...
”Work shit out” is one of my favourites. More jazz-funk-fusion and mainly instrumental with a fantastic piano solo as well as drum solo.
For a bass solo I love the one in their cover of Justin, not Timberlake 😉, but Bieber’s ”Baby”. Great fun watching your reactions!
Wow, well done guys. Perfect response to the absolute brilliance that is Dirty Loops. As a side note, I think it's just awesome that Harry Connick Jr, Robert Downey Jr and Edward Norton's sons got together to form DL. 😜😂 But seriously, Work Shit Out, World On Fire, Follow The Light, Thriller etc are easy choices for reactions so carry on wayward sons!
Lol! 😂 Yes! I'd pay good foldin' money to see Jonah & Harry Connick Jr. play a piano duet together... Ferrante & Teicher: Next Generation!
("Foldin' money" is an Oh Brother Where Art Thou reference. 😉)
-Work Shit Out
-Follow The Light
-Thriller
In that order. Check em out!
Hit me, Work Shit Out and Follow the Light!! (but ALL the songs are awesome) Have fun at the show - they kill it live. Great reaction!
They also have a great ballad: Breakdown.
The Swedish musical heritage rolls along like a full speed freight train. Love these guys.
Yeah...Dirty Loops ALWAYS puts a smile on your face and makes you feel gooooood! Every song! I'm a metalhead but DL is just fantastic (good music is good music) Cheers from Sweden!
I SO LOVE your reactions to Dirty Loops! Y'all are so much fun to watch. And as far as your comments of being "younger" or "older" than the music, WELCOME to MY generation!!! 😀 (oh, and may I recommend you check out "Work Shit Out"? Your heads will spin 360 degrees on that one 😂) OH, ANOTHER THING, you might want to pre-record some reactions to their songs this week so the concert doesn't spoil the wonderful surprise we get to see on your faces. Release them once a week or month if you like, but your first reactions are PRICELESS!!!
Yes 👍
Hear hear!
Super good idea!
Maybe the best song ever!!! I just saw them in Nashville. They're freakishly amazing live! And this song, you think how can they do this live? And they crush it!! Watch BREAKDOWN next and Work Shit Out.
Simply - the quintessential piece from their entire catalog in my opinion. Exhibits musicianship, songwriting, ridiculous vocals, and production quality in a tidy package.
Follow the light - funkiest song of the century. Go react!
They absolutely take you to church with this one!
Love to see professional musicians dive down the DL rabbit hole! Great reaction! They are out of this world talented! No wonder Quincy Jones took them under his wings!
So happy for you guys, thanks for a truly worthy reaction!!😍I saw them in September 2023 in Stockholm, and had a smile on my face for 27 hours and 12 minutes. Check out one of their first (if not the first song) on here, "Hit me!" 🙂
Thanks for a great couple of minutes!
Cheers from Sweden.
I second, third and forth “Work Shit Out”. AND next band to check out - The Aristocrats. Another three piece of virtuosos. Only do their live stuff. Maybe start with live “Bad Asteroid”
This is one of their best songs, for sure. "Follow the Light" is pretty amazing too. "Hit Me" is also incredible.
Turbo, work shit out, hit me,follow the Light…… so much to see
ROCK YOU IS NEXT. Lets go. Im here for it. (Proud to be swede)
Next? Follow the Light :) The tickets - money soooo well spent!
Got the VIP upgrade for the Montreal concert, totally worth it. Great to meet and chat with them. Very down-to-earth people. No idea why this band is not more recognized worldwide. Funny story about boys band: my girlfriend saw the Back Street Boys at the Quebec City Summer Festival. She texted me : "I am not seeing any musicians on the stage!" 70000 fans ended up at a karaoke gig...
Welcome to the party guys!
HOW WAS THE CONCERT?! WE WANT MORE DIRTY LOOPS!!!!
Yes!!! ☺️🤘✌️🤘✌️
I really like World on fire, Breakdown from the album Pheonix. And their covers of Wake me up and Forever young are really tastefully done ❤
You have a nice little rabbit hole in front of you. Enjoy the concert, they are great live.
First time I heard this song I listened to it literally 5 times in a row because I couldn’t believe my ears
It's soooo entertaining to see your reactions to Dirty Loops. Love you guys! 🇸🇪🙂👍
Hear follow the light frim this guys and cory wong thats mindblowing
Welcome to the dirty loops fan club. I had the same reaction years ago when i first heard them. They have become one of my favorite bands.
I’m happy that you’ll see them live! 😃 They are as playful live and you can’t mistake their joy of playing. Not to mention enjoying their music and skills. Hope you’ll have a great time!
Just LOVE your reaction❣️I had this song on repeat for weeks after hearing it the first time. Can't get why they aren't played on radio more, especially since there"s a shorter radio edit of Next to you. Thank you for making my day!❤❤❤
Been there, done that ;) Discovered them about 5 years ago and couldn't wait for their concert which after postponing several times due to Covid took place last Year here in Estonia. LOVE their music! My faves are "Work Shit Out" and "Thriller" with Cory Wong, "Coffee break" from Jonah, feat. Richard Bona. If You want something older, then "Baby" (Justin Bieber cover) and "Wake me Up" (Avicii cover), or something a little different :) "OLD ARMANDO HAD A FARM" :)
Also, check out some of their covers like Rolling in the Deep or Baby...
Great Reaction, you still are at your infancy discovering their stuff -> getting to see them live though - 🔥
Please do more
"Breakdown" "Work shit Out" or any covers, like their "Rolling in the Deep"
Love the reaction. work shit out is Epic ! They have so much content and it is all awesome.
😂😂 Love your reaction❤️. Saw them live a couple of years ago and you are going to have an awesome time! Hope you through their whole catalogue 🙏
You will not be disappointed by their live show. I saw them on Easter Sunday and I am still hype off of that show. This is my favorite song from them, so of course, I lost my natural mind when they played it. I hope they come back to the states when the new album comes out. Because I will go see them every single time at this point.
☺️👍
Going from 🇬🇧 UK to Bergen in Norway the first weekend in May 24 to see them. Can’t wait
Their touring schedule is insane! And has been for a while now.
How do they maintain it?!
But get bro, enjoy that concert!! ✌️🤘✌️🤘
Gotta check out Follow the Light, Turbo, and Thriller (cover) next!!
❤ DL
Awesome reaction guys!!! Yes keep reacting to these guys, this song is their “anthem” 😂😂😂 and I’m gonna see them on Saturday Apr 13! So cool you guys are seeing them as well you will have the best time of your life!!!
Yes, you were right: Our generation had music like this all the time and no auto tune, just pure talent. My first listen to these guys and I am very impressed. Thank you Luvvies ☮
and - guess what? You STILL haven't heard all they do! Follow the Light with Cory Wong is another incredible one.
OOOOHHH MY GODDDD!!!!! THE VOCALS ARE UNFRIKINREAL!!!!! THESE GUYS ARE SUPERTIGHT!!!! THE DRUMMER AND BASSIST SOUND LIKE ONE INSTRUMENT!!!! THIS JAM SENT CHILLS FROM MY KNEECAPS TO MY EYESOCKETS AND CAME OUT AS TEARS!!! BLOWN BEYOND AWAY!!!! YOU GUYS' REACTION EXACTLY LIKE MINE!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Best comment ever!!
Dirty Loops well deserve those kudos 👍✌️👌🤘✌️👍
They all went to the royal music school in Sweden. Great band
...😂....dying over here!
Congratulations seeing them live -
All I'm saying you're in for such a treat. Can't wait to hear all about it.
Thanks for a great reaction.
Saludos desde Valencia ✌️ 💚
Saw them in Charlotte 3 weeks ago…. Absolutely amazing….. I smiled the entire time!!!! Wait till you see Henrik tap the country-ish Song……. He has forgotten more about playing bass than I know
Best reaction ever! 😂🥰
So happy that you guys get to experience them live - with such a reaction you totally deserve it! I've seen them live twice and they are amazing! The vocals are all Jonah all the way (they are just messing with us in the video) :-) And yeah next time you should check out "Work shit out" next! Oh, and if you wanna go down the boyband line - check out their cover of Justin Biebers "Baby"...
You guys are doing what life is supposed to be about: enjoying it. This is what music is about. This is what we forget. This is what we can perhaps revive with your help. So: do your job! And we will enjoy it.
Thanks for the great comment. Cheers
You won't be disappointed! I just saw them in Denver, did the VIP meet & greet before the show (they are sooooo nice) and they absolutely SLAYED everything. I was in the front row right in front of Henrik and it was all INCREDIBLE. I also saw them 10 years ago when they first toured the US. Check out "Work Shit Out" next!
Whoooooo!! 👍👍
Great Reaction!! These gentlemen are from Sweden and studied together at the Swedish equivalent of Juilliard. Classically and jazz-trained their respective skills are incomparable and all of their hooks are infectious! Check out their first-class musician chops next with this one: th-cam.com/video/r_GTgpdoCh0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zOCtuS5VmLW-d89s
BTW, Enjoy the show!!
I find Next To You and Work Shit Out to be equally good songs but for different reasons. If you guys were blown away by this song, and rightfully so, Work Shit Out will blow you up like TNT! Great reaction btw!!! ;-)
This reaction was EPIC! DL are incredible musicians, and you got it!
yes work shit out, breakdown, world on fire, etc, etc go down the rabbit hole.. These are true musicians!!
Es un temazo !! Y si en el mismo estilo de Steve Wonder!! Muy pegajosa y con mucho soul !! 👍👍
I saw them live the first time in Amsterdam in 2013. After that I saw them 3 times live in the Netherlands. The last concert was in 2023 and they have being growing so much in creativity and musicality. I think I am a fan. 😂😂😂😂
super like to this video, this is the way the musicians shut react to dirty loops, please keep reacting to them, all their songs are amazing.
Follow the light! Can't stop watching new reactions to DL. My favorite thing on the tube. 🔥🙌❤️
Same, Anders ☺️👍🤘✌️
It's funny to see you guys react to Dirty Loops. It's pretty standard procedure to have one's mind blown on each and every song. It's great to see music professionals reacting this way. Super stoked that you will be seeing them soon. It's a great show and YES, they are having as much fun as you think they are. Enjoy the show and keep reacting to DL's other songs. Each one brings its own joy and thrills (check out Thriller!!).
“Work Shit Out”, “Rock You” and “Follow The Light” are necessary to check out!!!
Love your reactions, guys! It was such a joy to see folks experiencing DL for the first few times, just like I did only 18 months ago. Hundreds of listening hours, 2 flights to Sweden and London, and 2 gigs later, and I still get moisty-eyed when I hear 'Next to You'. Thank you.
just a bit into this song, you mentioned MJ. You hit the nail on the head, because these guys are like a hyper-modern TOTO just WOW!
It's even crazier than you think: Jonah did all the vocals himself - taking on different personas to achieve the gospel choir effect. The other two miming along in the video is just for show, (as was them swapping instruments). But you're right, the pop element is strong with these guys. It explains how they ensnare a musically illiterate audience, although their music is simultaneously incredibly complex and opaque to untrained ears. It's quite brilliant actually. "Boy band jazz" someone called it.
by the way, I expect some more Dirty Loops on this channel, because you should be familiar with more songs when you go to the show, right? I´m subscribing, your reactions are great.
Henrik is killin it on bass as usual.
If you want to see their musical talent showcased, check out "Check Sh*t Out"... there's a keyboard and drum solo in it.
It is not a coincidence that they are in Quincy Jones' production team.... MJ vibes!
This was the best reaction EVER for this song! They are amazing live, too!
Great reaction!!
Welcome down the rabbit hole of Dirty Loops. Youll find yourself addicted faster than a blink of an eye. Check evrything. One of my favourites is Forever young and for gods sake dont miss the credits.
Love their cover of Forever Young 🫶
And yes, Work Shit Out, such A Masterpiece. Put it on in your car if you are alone and want to drive insanely. But here I can see that mainstream audience might think... just to much of everything.
Dirty Loops - Thriller, Rock You, Follow The Light, Work Shit Out, Hit Me ! ;)
Please don't miss out on the Songs for Lovers and Jonah Nilsson solo stuff as MJ's Bad, Diamond Ring and Coffee Break as suggestions.
Always great musicality!
I'm so jealous of their talent... Love them! ❤️Seen them live once, ohhhh... 😎
My first listen was Bitten By The Kitten and then everything else.. My first thought about Jonah was MJ, Stevie Wonder and Prince...
I recently saw them in Boston with my youngest child, who introduced me to them. They were having just as much on stage as you see in their videos. Check out anything from their earlier album Loopified, to see the talent they had even just doing covers, of course with their own style.
A few months before that concert, we saw Snarky Puppy. If you want to see a lot (up to 20) of talented musicians play together, check them out. If you want, start with one of their most popular. Lingus.
WHY, Why, why does mainstream audience not like it? I played the guitar 45y+, bass some 20, keyboard and back up vocals... Etc. So, I'm not exactly a mainstreamer. Also biased (as a Swede). But still... Tracks like this. Or World on Fire, Breakdown. OK, like what you like, non of my business. BUT THEY deserve it, goddamn 😍
Rock You, Follow the Light and Work Shit Out will get you started right. Saw them in Chicago last week and it was amazing the ending of this song live blew the ROOF off! Wow
Hey guys, cool channel! I'm also an engineer/musician and honestly digging your format. Any of the Dirty Loops collabs with Corey Wong & The Horn Heads is absolute fire (Turbo, Thriller, Follow The Light). I agree with the commenter earlier, you should check out Work Shit Out next. Mind blowing musicianship and sonically the best drum solo ever. The tone in that kit is freaky good.
Also if you're really looking for face melting musicianship check out Snarky Puppy - Lingus. Corey Henry lets loose the most epic keyboard solo in the history of history and Larnell Lewis on drums is another genius alien freakazoid beyond master level player... He never played with the band, learned his drum parts in headphones on the plane ride over and performed within 24 hrs of landing. Absolute face melting stuff. Aliens. All of em lol
Yeah, but IMHO Snarky Puppy is maybe more about technical showing off and less about having fun? They are great musicians, no doubt about it though. Anyway, I enjoy listening and watching DL more 😊
Before I forget, yes I would love a vid of your journey and thoughts of the gig. Very jealous here 😁
They taking you to church!! ⛪
Saw them in Denver a couple of weeks ago. KILLER.
Reminds me a lot of 90's British Band LEVEL 42 . Go give them a listen if you haven't heard of them 🎵🎶🍯🤌🔥✌️💪🙏🐝🍀
12:42 "Where are we gonna go?"
