- Hi Guys: Lencac here. Well, I found just yet another justification to require some range time. So I threw Hans, the most accurate K31 in the world, into the cavernous trunk of the Mighty Crown Vic. This is a little comparison you may find interesting. This is a head to head match-up of some excellently loaded match grade ammo and plain 'ole, run of the mill GP-11 ammo.
The GP11 is an absolutely fantastic ammunition.

Wow! Unreal what gp11 can do! I'm sure you can work up some loads that would do a lot better than that Nosler load. 43 grains of IMR 4895 and a 168 SMK .010" off is a sub-moa load in my 1954.

Just bought a K11.First 5 shots in a 1 3/4 “ group with std PPU ammo at 100 indoor tunnel range. My .303 Fulton Reg No1 Mk3 * SMLE does 1 1/4” groups with open sights.at same 174g 38.4g. N140 . These old guns are super accurate considering both are over 100 years old

Wow those 3 shots in one perfect hole was a real treat. Awesome shooting. My 72 Hammerli wears a 3 filter Ghemman also 1.5x so I commend you on fine shooting good sir. Not as often as I want. Matter of fact I've taken it to the range 3 times. Enough to know its potential for sure. Why the King?

The King is the King because he was my first Hammerli custom built competition Private Series K31............... it's hard to be the King. The King is a truly extraordinary example of the last of old-world craftsmeneship.
However, did you get something I don't know about?

I have a re-arsenal k31 with a hammerli barrel....is that anything special? I haven't heard much there
RockHumper I have a private series K31 that 'Lencac' calls the king that has a Hammerli that shoots like a velvet dream. Hammerli barreled K31s are rare and were custom made for the rifles for competition. The King shoots tighter groups than a virgins puckered behind. 'Lencac' and I were set to do a competition to see who's rifle shot tighter groups, but I broke my arm and by the time I recovered I never got back to it. (Sorry Dave!)
Hey buddy-boy!!! How goes it? Yes, you too have a very rare Private Series K31. I still miss the King. But I know you'll take good care of him.
I think most of the re-arsenals were equipped with Hammerli barrels. And there ain't nuttin wrong wit dat. But the very few and rare Hammerli custom built Private Series K31's were built new with Hammerli barrels. And with Alex's help we learned that the competition Hammerli built Private Series K31's even used a better grade of steel than the military issue K31's.
