This old veteran cannot listen to this great classic without having an emotional moment or a tear or two. Memorial Day is coming up soon, here in America. I served from 1966 til 1969. Many soldiers came home to nothingness , many never came home. All our well laid plans prior to serving were totally changed , but our love and our hearts remained in tact. We were just kids who had to adjust and start our lives over. God Bless the Aussie 3rd Brigade. You were and are special in my heart and mind.
I wasn’t in combat, but served ten years 75-85…I’m as teary eyed and affected by the music of Cold Chisel as any vet might be. Thanks for your time in serving our country. God has blessed these guys in a big way. Australia was a great partner in our efforts in SE Asia, and remain today, I trust, a great friend of America.
I’m Aussie and live in Vietnam. They are just extremely grateful the whole thing is over. They hold zero grudges. Lived in Vietnam for 10 years and never heard them say a bad word about you guys. ❤️
Love having a few vb longnecks and listening to flame trees... while my boys kick a soccer ball around the backyard and hear them dad did you see that kick and what not... with the BBQ going. The feeling is why I'm here and keep going with the mundane side of life.

I have a story from my combat time...... In 1994 {?} my wife, at the time, said "I have no idea where you are. I don't even know if you're alive, or dead. I've seen you three time in four years." At that time the war was over, for me. All I see is chaos and madness......every day, Has been so for many years. More than you probably know. Stay safe.
Great song. Great Memories. And I am a New Zealander. We may disagree, we will fight on on the sports field, but come for us, pick a fight, we will stand together. Kia Kaha, Australia, New Zealand.
Saw them as a backup band in 70s for either Foreigner or Mac.. memory is hazy for those years... lol.. and I only did half a bottle of vodka.. awesome live. If their song hadn't been banned from radio it wouldn't have been worn out on every jukebox in every pub in OZ. Khe Sanh.
My twin daughters found out on Friday the 4th of November 2022 that their best friend Seth committed suicide in his back yard. At 19 he had his whole future ahead of him, charitable, nice to a fault and handsome. He was paying of his first house, worked hard and we all loved him, I even called him my mate. We used to listen all the same music for Gods sake. There was no sign that he was contemplating this, even had plan to go to Good Things with my daughters in December. As I sat around consoling my daughters and their friends while drinking my sadness away, this song comes up in my feed and it felt so right, like a sign from God himself. I heard this song many times over the decades but that day last week, these lyrics hit me like a thunderbolt and now I'll never be able to play this song without seeing him. Once this war is over, we'll keep going starting a new chapter in our lives without him. But no one will ever steal the love he gave to my daughters and he will remain forever in our hearts. Please, if you're in bad place and don't think you can make it, just remember there are people out there who will grieve for you. Talk to someone, there is no shame in feeling this way, reach out and share the burden and you will find a way to break free from that chain. We can't do this world alone. No matter how dark it gets in life, there is always a sunrise not far away. We will all miss you very much Seth.
Thank you so much for sharing this story. I am a retired counselor married to a military psychiatrist and I always tell him that the people most likely to commit suicide are not the ones who say they want to do it. It's those who keep everything inside, and it takes those close to them to notice that there is something wrong. I concur with you in asking people to please talk to someone. You don't just kill yourself; you tear the lives of those you love apart. If you think for whatever reason that your life doesn't matter, at least think about those who love you. Would you want to hurt them? No. Hurting yourself is hurting them, sometimes irreparably. There is nothing wrong with asking for help or even just talking to someone when you don't know what you feel but you know something isn't right. There is always hope as long as you are alive.
I had the Honour of playing Rhythm Guitar for Mossy on the 1989 "Tuckers Daughter" Tour. An Incredible Talent, and a moment I will never forget. Dave Dwyer 😬

This kiwi grew up listening to these boys. I live in the USA now. I flew to Aussie about 9 years ago to catch up with friends & do some business. Unbeknownst to me our buddy had bought tickets to to see Cold Chisel at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. One of the most memorable concerts I've ever experienced.
I met your uncle when he was touring the States with the Farnham-era LRB after the "No Reins" release in the mid 80s. A true gentleman and brilliant drummer and songwriter. You should be proud of your uncle. RIP.
Why is Mossy overlooked as one of the Greatest Strat Men ever, an amazing vocalist that knows harmony and sings it well. Don tied it all together for the perfect storm of WOW, emotion on all levels. Always cry listening to their true musicianship.
He was asked by Mark Knopfler to play rhythm for Dire Straits, and if you know how perfectionist Knopfler is, that tells you a lot. Not that Moss agreed to join DS of course
@@Ruoktoday1 He has a truly great soul voice, far more controlled and with more reliable pitch than Barnsey. But I guess Barnsey has that screaming rock star thing happenin' which sells tickets.
While Khe Sanh is regularly voted one of the best songs, to me this will always be Cold Chisel at it's best. This version just cements that and never fails to move me.
Even being a kiwi, i have no problem in saying......best Australasian band ever. There is NOTHING like waking up in the morning, taking the Holden for a long drive with Cold Chisel for company. These guys helped me through the best and worst days of my life and ........in one word..........CLASSIC!!!
Another proud Kiwi here too, Chisel are the soundtrack to so many of us growing up, loved seeing some of the audience in tears, just shows how much this music means, love seeing the All Blacks play the Wallabies, great rivalry but after I just see them sharing a beer and enjoying Chisel, proud ANZAC's...long live the bloody awesome Aussie & Kiwi bands!
After a motocycle accident,I was in a deep, deep coma for over three months.Doctors said I was Brain dead, yes there is live on the other side.I have being there and back, making a wonderful recovery.Even if it took me twenty years. Thanks for this wonderful music, giving me strength when I needed it most.
I am a Nepalese bloke... I met Jimmy and cooked him and Bryan Adams breakfast on nagambie green festival... Such a down to earth guy and what a voice!!!
+Desiree Smith hahaha Touche my friend.. Nothing better than just going for a nice long cruise in the Ute and listening to Cold Chisel to get the old cobwebs out of the head!!! Always have CC playing when i have a BBQUE and if the young ones don't like it ......then they know they way to the door!!! This is REAL MUSIC and it makes ME and the Mrs feel great .........so thats all that matters!!!!! Big Jim (NZ).
+Anna Kimura Kia Ora Anna, I don't think anyone forgets that fact that so many innocent people died during this tragic war. Yes the song is about what happened from an Australian soldiers perspective BUT comments weren't made regarding the rights, wrongs and horrors committed during this conflict. The comments are about the SONG and the magical words, beat and performance - which is brilliant. Many songs are about sad events in History - Paint it Black, I don't like Mondays and the list goes on.. and it is no disrespect to those who were involved. Actually, maybe getting drunk and appreciating these songs is not a bad way to enjoy them ..... because we all know the meaning behind them. I appreciate your comments and wish you a very Merry Xmas. Big Jim (NZ)
+Anna Kimura I think maybe we should just agree to disagree. I appreciate and respect the fact that you obviously have strong feelings about this subject and i have no right to judge you. Some people just enjoy the music because they like the music and don't think too much about the subject matter ...... I respect this fact ....whilst others think it is inappropriate......and i also respect their view. I hope you don't feel too offended that others may not see things the way you do.......but in life....everyone has the right to enjoy music for different reasons. Like i said before, i wish you and your Whanau (family) a very merry Xmas............. JIm.
I never tire of this particular version of Ian, Jimmy and the fellas. Moves me everytime! It's got to be up there with the greatest performances of all time. So easy to feel drawn in and am so thankful to be able to enjoy this song in this version when ever I want, I'm happy. The beauty of the individual voices plus the harmony of the blend of both Ian & Jimmy - PURE MAGIC!
the high water mark for chisel. What an amazing and deeply moving song. The vocal contrast between Jimmi and Ian is just amazing. One of the greatest songs ever written by one of the greatest bands ever.
This song highlights the brilliance that was Cold Chisel in a way that no other song does. They use the contrast between (and amazing harmonization of!) the two voices to absolute perfection.
This is a very, moving song and one of the greatest songs of Aussie Rock. I'm so sorry that its writer, Steve Prestwich, died from a brain tumour..may he RIP. And to all those Vietnam vets - you are the pride of your country!
@@VINvIN344 Why do you do this? What do you gain from it? Is this the point of you, the reason you draw breath? In the vast depth of your ignorance you display similarity to a broken pencil - pointless.
@@torqingheads Not even close, you have no idea, Jimmy Barnes was Scotish born, Steve Prestwich was born in Liverpool. Ian Moss, Phil Small and Ian McFarlane are Australian and the band was formed in Adelaide.
I heard them by accident, as my brother visited Australia with the royal Navy in the late 80's and brought a tape of them home. Took me some right wrangling to get hold of some of their music at that point in time ( another story, but two cd's were sent back for me in diplomatic papers from the British embassy). Absolutely love them, will probably never get to see them live. Absolutely love this version of my favourite song, awesome.
I'm watching this on an emotional 11 day of the 11month. Moss and Barnes. Brilliant, but let us not forget the song writer and the many fallen warriors.
Chisels are more relevant today than ever before. They had soul, every word meant something. Bleeding for every person. Absolutely timeless and borderless band. Long Live great rock bands like the Chisels.
Wiping tears from my eyes… I will never forget the sacrifices made by our diggers, ever! Dad and Grandad Frank your service came at a cost and I will forever be in you debt xx Love Mish

You are so right young lady!!! Living in NZ........there is NOTHING BETTER than jumping in the Holden....destination unknown....and playing this song along with other CC classics. The trick is NOT to get upset with the 206, 500 or even 1000 people who dislike..................its all about YOU and how the song inspires/motivates/brings back the memories just for you!!!! That is what music is all about..................... Not others...just you!!!! so..................ENJOY, turn it up and REMINISCE!!!!!
The girl singing along and maybe wiping her tears at 1:32 (and several other spots in the clip) gets me choked up EVERY TIME I watch this - and that's often!!! It's a beautiful, raw and honest moment... I love it!
I can see her story Parents raised her on Chisel. More than likely this was the first time she saw them live. That experience with a band you love can hit your right in the bones. Power of music right there.
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away When the war is over Got to get away Pack my bags to no place In no time no day You and I we used each other's shoulder Still so young but somehow so much older How can I go home and not get blown away You and I had our sights set on something Hope this doesn't mean our days are numbered I've got plans for more than a wanted man All around this chaos and madness Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness Only choice to face it the best I can When the war is over Got to start again Try to hold a trace of what it was back then You and I we sent each other stories Just a page I'm lost in all it's glories How can I go home and not get blown away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away For hubby RIP
Yes that was beautiful, then Jimmy Barnes replied to a comment from the crowd, 'they never had to sit near this F'ing rat who screamed for a start, we can this way ignore everybody' then ' drunken gibberish' don't know what he said after he call her that. She was having the time of her life, who knows what sort of life she's had that she got so emotional in a concert, he probably left her scarred for life after that. Nasty alcoholic.

I first saw Chisel in 1980 at the Darwin amphitheatre when I was 13 years old. When the support band finished my mate and I stood in front of Jimmys mike stand until they started so we had front row all night! Will never forget it, they started with Home and Broken Hearted and I still have never seen an Aussie band as good as them live, Midnight Oil the only other band to come close!
Not just America, Britain too . I backpacked through Australia and New Zealand in the early 90s and soon came to realise how good the music was . And all Britain really got in music sales was Jason Donavon and Kylie. Crowed House are probably the only quality group that done well. Most of the UK don't even realise John Farnham had more than one song 😂
My mother grew up listening to these guys and is obsessed with them. Three months ago we went and saw them together live at a day on the green in pouring down rain and loved every minute. A memory I will always have of her when she goes. I might only be in my mid twenties and missed the era but thank you Cold Chisel for still rocking it out and creating memories!
This live version of the song is just glorious. It is made even more beautiful by the camera work taking in the emotional response of 2 particular women in the audience.. one with tears, one with her eyes closing in bliss. I watch this a lot. It gives me ALL the feels
One of favourite songs of all time. Mossy is one the best guitarists Australia has ever produced. Jimmy is just Jimmy. Don Walker lyrics and tune. Great version and will never grow old on me.
He's very close to pitch perfect in his singing. And his voice blends so well with JB's voice - they have very similar timbre in their tone - especially the young JB on their early records. Indeed, unlike Lennon and McCartney whose voices you could ALWAYS tell who was singing which harmony, sometimes I can't tell who is singing which parts when Ian And Jimmy really nail their harmonies. We're very lucky to have had this band....
I think a lot people mistake this for a song about war, however it's actually about the break down of a marriage and eventual divorce... Cold Chisel was known for their songs about contemporary Australian culture, something no other Australian band has ever really done. Divorce was a dirty word in our country up until the mid 70s - early 80s. This is what this a song is about.
The 80"s what a time to grow up in Aussie Brocky tearin up n down the mountain leaving the fords and everyone else in his wake Hawthorn winning Grand Finals year after year Cold Chisel tearin up the pubs n clubs with awesome music What more could this Aussie bogan want Long live the internets n you tube so i can live it again n again n again
sitting on the beach drinking rocket fuels oh yeah... spend the whole night breaking all the rles oh yeah.. 1980s while half the contry was arguing over a dingo eating a baby i was working on a property in Queensland building stockyards and fenceline that will still be there long after i'm gone, drinking in a QLD hotel watching State of Origin being the only bloke cheering on the Blues in a pub full of Maroons, ... an amazing decaded marred at the end with Balmain Tigers losing two Winfield Cup Grand Finals in a row...
WOW..................i just have 3 major comments to make. 1. To those who worry/comment about the 'thumbs down' to this song ..........Don't........you do NOT have to justify this song in any way. We know what a classic it is and how it re-ignites those 'old school' memories, in a time much forgotten and what it truly means to us. And in the end, that is all that matters. 2. In talking about 'old school memories'..........and those who appreciate will truly understand.........It takes us back to a time when life was so much simpler. Our biggest worry was what to wear on Saturday night to impress the ladies. We lived from payday to payday and our most stressful moment was.........would our favourite song be number 1 on the weekly countdown. 3. It is our escape from what total crap the world is now in.......................hatred, pandemic, global warming and prejudice.......something we dont understand and shake our heads at ...............what went wrong!!!! This music is our 'escape' our 'salvation' and one of the few things that still bring a tear to the eye....and we wonder .......if only................. So in being totally honest..................screw you - who dare to even try to take these moments from us and try to disrespect the few things that bring us so much joy. you

Was at Oktoberfest many years when the Poms started signing, challenge accepted, must have being at least 100 Aussies with a sprinkling of Kiwis. We belted out Khe Shan shut the Poms up for a while, great memories.
I just love Jimmy wandering around tossing in some perfectly placed falsetto and harmony. It’s beautiful the way he can pull back that voice to still have all the power without being too much
If you don’t like this music , That’s ok , But We are a special group of people that grew up with the taste for music and class , This is some great medicine .

Wow Back Again Again this song to me just shouts Aussey Summer days on the Beach, Jimmy used to sing this of course but his voice is sooooooo thrashed he actually shouldn't try and sing any more it just spoils the memories sad but true.
I saw this song live in Brisbane a few years ago. They dedicated it to the drummer who passed away recently at the time. A drunk idiot started yelling out, "booo play your faster stuff, this is shit" My cousin, had the balls to put him in his place, tell him to shut up and have some respect. He shut up after that. I was so proud to call him my cousin.
This has never been my favourite Chisel song (it's def in the top 10) but it IS their most beautiful, and shows how much talent they had. Beautifully written, played, and those harmonies will break your heart.

@@Ruoktoday1 He has a truly great soul voice, far more controlled and with more reliable pitch than Barnsey. But I guess Barnsey has that screaming rock star thing happenin' which sells tickets.
This song hits REAL close to home for this combat vet.
never get tired of this song, especially after 6 cans of VB !!!
Thanks for your service friend
likewise m8
I hope through all the pain you can find peace in your life
Only 6 ????
While Khe Sanh is regularly voted one of the best songs, to me this will always be Cold Chisel at it's best. This version just cements that and never fails to move me.
Love jimmy Barnes
couldn't agree more!
you nailed it. this is "the" song for me too.
seeing members of the audience - Gen X and Gen Y - wipe tears from their eyes, speaks volumes about what a great rendition this is.
Onya Kiwi bro.
Kia kaha bro
Another proud Kiwi here too, Chisel are the soundtrack to so many of us growing up, loved seeing some of the audience in tears, just shows how much this music means, love seeing the All Blacks play the Wallabies, great rivalry but after I just see them sharing a beer and enjoying Chisel, proud ANZAC's...long live the bloody awesome Aussie & Kiwi bands!
Deadly Brother...same here
Kia Kaha bro, spent many years in Melbourne in the 80's and 90's, I'm a Kiwi but I love Australia
That's awesome mate. I believe you, can't and can wait for the after life. Get better mate! Take care
Still holding on, I believe
THIS IS WHEN YOU NEED TO SUMMONS UP ALL STRENGTH THAT COMES FROM DEEP WITHIN YOU. STAY STRONG.
I am a Nepalese bloke...
I met Jimmy and cooked him and Bryan Adams breakfast on nagambie green festival...
Such a down to earth guy and what a voice!!!
never get tired of this song, especially after 6 cans of VB !!!
+Desiree Smith
hahaha Touche my friend..
You don't think it's a little inappropriate to get drunk to a song about a war in which over 2,200,000 people were killed? Cool.
+Anna Kimura
Kia Ora Anna,
I don't think anyone forgets that fact that so many innocent people died during this tragic war.
+bumbleandprincess Well by that logic, is it appropriate to get drunk listening to a song about the holocaust then?
+Anna Kimura
I think maybe we should just agree to disagree.
JIm.
Jimmy singing the high notes in the background still gives me shivers 34 years after i first heard this .
Im more drawn to Mossy;s singing in this song, dont know why
JIMMY ALWAYS MAKE'S ME CRY
I never tire of this particular version of Ian, Jimmy and the fellas. Moves me everytime! It's got to be up there with the greatest performances of all time. So easy to feel drawn in and am so thankful to be able to enjoy this song in this version when ever I want, I'm happy. The beauty of the individual voices plus the harmony of the blend of both Ian & Jimmy - PURE MAGIC!
Kia Kaha my bro
the high water mark for chisel. What an amazing and deeply moving song. The vocal contrast between Jimmi and Ian is just amazing. One of the greatest songs ever written by one of the greatest bands ever.
This song highlights the brilliance that was Cold Chisel in a way that no other song does. They use the contrast between (and amazing harmonization of!) the two voices to absolute perfection.
who the hell is the young woman with tears in her eyes over this song . i feel her pain and suffering and love . please show yourself
This is a very, moving song and one of the greatest songs of Aussie Rock. I'm so sorry that its writer, Steve Prestwich, died from a brain tumour..may he RIP. And to all those Vietnam vets - you are the pride of your country!
Steve Prestwich didn't write many songs but he made up for lack of quantity with quality. This and Forever Now are cracking songs.
may he rip. and all of those other childish myths. bogan
@@VINvIN344 Why do you do this? What do you gain from it? Is this the point of you, the reason you draw breath? In the vast depth of your ignorance you display similarity to a broken pencil - pointless.
They're really a kiwi band.
@@torqingheads Not even close, you have no idea, Jimmy Barnes was Scotish born, Steve Prestwich was born in Liverpool. Ian Moss, Phil Small and Ian McFarlane are Australian and the band was formed in Adelaide.
One of Chisel's finest. Still makes me cry - after all these years.
I cry everytime i hear it.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
Probably the best rendition of this song I’ve ever heard, brought tears to my eyes listening to it
Born a kiwi, I lived in Australia for many years, Now living in the US, I Thank God for TH-cam...Amen
This song hits REAL close to home for this combat vet.
Thanks for your services mate. The memorial day is very soon. I will be at a gathering somewhere to show respect to all you guys and girls.
Grew up on chisels and that young woman in the crowd singing along in tears is everything
The music moves her...
It's a disgrace that these guys were not internationally famous. They could have blown most bands off the stage.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
I heard them by accident, as my brother visited Australia with the royal Navy in the late 80's and brought a tape of them home. Took me some right wrangling to get hold of some of their music at that point in time ( another story, but two cd's were sent back for me in diplomatic papers from the British embassy). Absolutely love them, will probably never get to see them live. Absolutely love this version of my favourite song, awesome.
I'm glad they didn't... might have changed them.....legends. part of my youth. ❤
I'm watching this on an emotional 11 day of the 11month.
Moss and Barnes. Brilliant, but let us not forget the song writer and the many fallen warriors.
Thank God these two voices found each other.
I'm amazed at who would give this song a thumbs down. Can't be Australian.
Can't be human
635 retards dropped on their heads at birth, and counting...
640 tone deaf un Australian retards
@The Doobie Sisters & Sack Blabbath They may also get Carona Virus too; and wouldn't even know....
Or kiwi.
Very Australian and extremely proud of this ~ What a Masterpiece !!!
One of the best Aussie songs....I never get tired of it....❤️
I love how Mossy and Barnsey's voices are so different but they work together so well
WTF! Chills! These are two of the most perfect combination of Vocals to ever Grace this Planet. God Bless.
Just more proof that every member of the band are pure heartfelt genius. Steve was no exception.
that's one way to floor an audience and make em cry. That was amazing, and Jimmy's voice, Ian's playing and voc just - wow
This song needs to be sung more now then ever
Chisels are more relevant today than ever before. They had soul, every word meant something. Bleeding for every person. Absolutely timeless and borderless band. Long Live great rock bands like the Chisels.
Wiping tears from my eyes…
I will never forget the sacrifices made by our diggers, ever!
Dad and Grandad Frank your service came at a cost and I will forever be in you debt xx Love Mish
Every Vets Day I come here. Miles between us, but the music brings us home together. Don't be such strangers down south, we need you in ways we don't even know. West Coast, US

What is WRONG with people? THIS has got to be one of CC's BEST!
Meredith Arbon its gold.

Its cold chisel or chisel. They are not corn chips
What a great simplified version of this beautiful song. RIP Steve Prestwick.
Hands up if you remember Chisel at Cardiff Workers and Doyalson RSL.
Great times in our young lives indeed .
Take me back please .
What about the pub at caves beach🎉🎉
The girl singing along and maybe wiping her tears at 1:32 (and several other spots in the clip) gets me choked up EVERY TIME I watch this - and that's often!!!
It's a beautiful, raw and honest moment... I love it!
I can see her story
Parents raised her on Chisel.
More than likely this was the first time she saw them live.
That experience with a band you love can hit your right in the bones.
Power of music right there.
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
When the war is over
Got to get away
Pack my bags to no place
In no time no day
You and I we used each other's shoulder
Still so young but somehow so much older
How can I go home and not get blown away
You and I had our sights set on something
Hope this doesn't mean our days are numbered
I've got plans for more than a wanted man
All around this chaos and madness
Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness
Only choice to face it the best I can
When the war is over
Got to start again
Try to hold a trace of what it was back then
You and I we sent each other stories
Just a page I'm lost in all it's glories
How can I go home and not get blown away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
Ain't nobody gonna steal this heart away
For hubby RIP
❤❤❤
I just love how to young girl in the audience is feeling the song. ,♥️
And to know she is younger than the song itself)))

How could this not have more view than 4.8 million, it's a stunning performance. Millions more deserve to see it. Awesome Bransey & Ian Moss.
1:32 The audience shots are great, i hope that lovely emotional young lady is doing well.
I wonder how old she is now
It always blows my mind how much the Americans missed out on.
Not just Chisel but so much Aussie talent. Its a Flavour all it's own.
On ya mate.
You still got that top notes 🎼🎶🎵💯1️⃣🧸🇦🇺⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
When legends get together and create a masterpiece that sends whispers to your heart...Thankyou Cold Chisel
+James Stedman not a Don Walker tune, it belongs to the late great Steve Prestwich
ian moss is so underrated. such an amazing voice.
JIMMY ALWAYS BRINGS A TEAR 2 MY EYES MAN WILL NEVER LOOSE MY RESPECT
All around this chaos and madness. Can't help feeling nothing more than sadness. Only choice to face it the best I can
I think a lot people mistake this for a song about war, however it's actually about the break down of a marriage and eventual divorce... Cold Chisel was known for their songs about contemporary Australian culture, something no other Australian band has ever really done. Divorce was a dirty word in our country up until the mid 70s - early 80s. This is what this a song is about.
What is WRONG with people? THIS has got to be one of CC's BEST!
I love how Mossy and Barnsey's voices are so different but they work together so well
This song hits home & sung powerfully - Love Cold Chisel- Australia 🇦🇺 has always produced amazing artists!
On my own and so lonely since you’ve been gone mMy heart can’t stand this pain ,I’ll love you forever and ever my angel watching over me in heaven .

This song is so much of the old Australia i used to know..sad state of affairs now. This was the best country.
So true words can't describe go mossy too love ya barnesy u know that xx thank you
What a song and australia so lucky to have such a legendary band
So in being totally honest..................screw you - who dare to even try to take these moments from us and try to disrespect the few things that bring us so much joy.
you
Well said Big Jim
Bumble bee and princess have said it all nothing else needs to be said these guys in chisel are all legends of our time and every generation should be taught to understand what real rock/blues is thank god for cold chisel ❤😊
No idea why, but for several years after my Dad passed I couldn't listen to this song without tears... he didn't know the song, but I did, and it affected me hugely, emotions are strange...
Mine and my late mums song too, she loved flame trees as well but this is just so beautifully bittersweet
Saw this live in 2011 and shed many a tear. They used it as a tribute to Steve Prestwich and it was extremely powerful.
Absolutely LEGEND Australian rock again!
Always brings back heaps of beautiful memories!
I will make a point on educating my Grandkids from now on.
Take the phones off them and put them on the table and then expose and observe. 😊😊
Was at Oktoberfest many years when the Poms started signing, challenge accepted, must have being at least 100 Aussies with a sprinkling of Kiwis. We belted out Khe Shan shut the Poms up for a while, great memories.
Magnificent!
Brings me back to Oz in a heart beat!
I just love Jimmy wandering around tossing in some perfectly placed falsetto and harmony. It’s beautiful the way he can pull back that voice to still have all the power without being too much
You dont cry to this tune , you not human sorry...GOOSEBUMPS
My favourite Cold Chisel song.
🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🌹
This has never been my favourite Chisel song (it's def in the top 10) but it IS their most beautiful, and shows how much talent they had. Beautifully written, played, and those harmonies will break your heart.
Sometimes you have to let go, even though you don't want to. No greater love than letting go.❤
Glad Jimmy is ok again, Cold Chisel is part of a festival in NZ. One of the most classic underated bands IMO.
