I'm a 67 year old Alaskan ice road trucker. I just stumbled across you guys on TH-cam. What a great sound Whata treasure. You guys are keep playing.
Are you single? I’m 50 and Australian 😁😁😁😁😁
Born in 65 Chisel WILL be played at my Funeral !
Greetings good people and music lovers 😊
This is one of the best songs by Jimmy Barnes. I listened to it for the first time while living in my home country where I had reluctantly returned to after growing up in Sydney. My hat off to Jimmy Barnes such an amazing person singer and songwriter!!!🙏🏻
Those were the DAYS.
If only we could turn back TIME.
✌️🫶💟☮️🇦🇺
Here Here....
My very favourite. It is just so Australian in it's lyrics. It may be about returning to Grafton but all of OZ can claim this song in their heart.
My youth right here. As an adult this hits me hard in the heart. It gets me thinking of friends gone too soon, one in particular a country lad who died in a car crash in 1990 at 19 years of age. RIP Michael.
Yeah I miss my mates that were taken to soon, man we had some crazy times
How many? I've had a few in my 20's and now that I'm 52, I've lost 17 people that I've been friends with and the longer we live, it will be exponential. @@seanh4841
I am a country boy, so lost a lot of mates to car accidents, and suicide.
Stay strong guys & allways remember your buddy's, your loved ones.... 🇦🇺💥🥊👌
I have to agree. This song, on the surface, looks like it touches on lost romantic love, but underneath, it's an exploration into our own fears, evolution and mortality, highlighted in everything staying the same while we change. I close my eyes and I'm back in the town I grew up in (not far from Grafton!) and I can almost feel my heart being ripped out of my chest as I look back with love, humour and regret on the girl I was. "We shared some history, this town and I..."
Incredible song, with the greatest bridge ever.
I met Jimmy in Thailand many years ago, he and his beautiful wife were just lovely.
Always down to earth. I think that's why Aussies love their own performers, our stars remember the people who paid their rent, and they respected their fans. Even though Barnsey was born in Scotland he's also one of our own.
I used listened to this song when I was in Australia. There were so many good songs from Cold Chisel.
Jimmy and the boys at their all time best right here
Great performance, love it, it made my eyes leak a little.
As a young Aussie apprentice i loved the joe camalerie and the black sorrows. NZ and Australia produced some amazing music in the 80s and 90s
One of my favourite songs!
Best live version of this song period! Any version for that matter, brilliant.
Greatest song ever.
I and my brother and our best mate saw them at Bathurst NSW in 1983 .
One of the best concerts I have ever seen .
There was nothing like a chisel show👍. Few years ago randomly ran into mossy at the twin servos on the highway near the central coast. Tells me “I’m late for a sound check.”😂. Had his station wagon with like a million guitars in it…….
those were the days so wonderful😊❤😂🎉😢
🚬😎 should be in the rocknroll hall of fame or the country and western music hall of fame . .. both
Good old days!!70s n 80s fun times!!❤
yep yep !
So many great songs produced by Chisel. I’ve heard Jimmy say this one was his favourite ❤️ If only the Twentieth Century album was not the last…
This song always makes me reminisce, transported back to times with mates.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful, your music and lyrics have been a huge part of my life. An amazing performance. Thank you for sharing.
Those were the Days . Thanks for the memories Jimmy My Brother
How good were the late70's and into 80's in Oz...a great time 😊
Damn what a voice
Bloody good old Days miss them so much
Still one of my favorites😊
Hi 😊
Such a beautiful Aussie classic!! 😎✌❤
Saw Jimmy live at the Coogge Bay Pub, 1996 if I recall correctly. I had industry supplied V.I.P. tickets...sat upstairs got free booze and snacks...one of the best concerts I ever went to, it was a charity event due to Doug Mulray having terminal cancer. Doug was one of our legends too. His brother got on stage and sang some of Douggies songs, he sounded just like his brother...talk about cry...it was so bitter-sweet. I still tear up when I remember Doug as he was that night. We had..still have some of the best talent in the world.
Nice
I was born in ‘73. This is my favourite Cold Chisel song!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi there
Luva Jimmy. Flame tree is my favourite song.😢love all your music but this song is very special to me
How can his daughter be so young? These were my teenage/early 20's classics. Widowed now but we had fame trees. I miss him so bad, it hurts so much ❤
First song I heard of yours Jimmy. Cold Chizel. Loved flame tree when came out. Awesome song will always be my favourite ❤song ever
Never really gave this chisel song too much mind on its own but SEEING Jimmy Barnes singing it makes it special, love cold chisel best Aussie band
Jimmy is an absolute LEGEND.........
This is my favourite song it takes me back to a certain time every time i hear it
I think this is the best version of Flame Trees I have seen 😊
I went to Sydney in 2011 and visited Bondi Beach, the Opera House, Kings Cross, took the train, drove up to Katoomba to see the 3 sisters and had a blast. I'd love to come back and visit Darwin, as well as the Gold Coast.
The best
This is beautiful Jimmy
The very first public performance of this Cold Chisel classic prior to the April ‘84 release of their 20th Century album some five months later. It certainly passed the pub test here and the Steve Prestwich/ Don Walker penned Chisel standard went on to become one of their best known radio songs.
Great lyric, rhythym and pure R&R performance this. Barnes was the quintessential hard rocker. Could wail with the best of them, no Perry Como this bloke!
Great and original Jimmy - I like him more and more...
My father Frank told me when you realised working class man that is the smartest man in Australia my father was a steel worker God bless always australia ❤
Gold
Imagine the boys right there., trying this song out for the first time. Probably have no idea how amazing the song will become.
Finally, who needs that sentimental bullshit, can be played, the 80's and 90's were magic for me in Melbourne, almost killed me, I'll never give it back
One of the best

I was way too cool to like Cold Chisel when I was young, until someone bought me a ticket to the Last Stand concert in Brisbane. I was a fool until then.
