@@HesiGrinds Depends what you need, but the Legion 5 Pro is a very good balance between performance and affordability. The screen is one of the major sellers about it as it's 2560x1600 165hz, and is color accurate. The GT77 however as the vid above says is pretty much a desktop replacement and made for absolute performance. If you don't need the best of the best, and just do gaming or office or school work, then the 5 Pro does very well, but if you do content creation or stuff and NEED the absolute best, it's the GT77. Also I bought a Legion 5 Pro 2021 with a Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3070 from Walmart for 1400$. It's by no means as strong as the GT77 but for 1400$ it's a super competitive price. I also saw a 3060 model for 1180 on Newegg. The 3050 ti and 3050 models can go for under 800$ so if it's super light gaming like CSGO or Rocket League then those could work as well, but I think those are the Legion 5 (non Pro), which has a less impressive screen. Still a very good laptop though, would highly recommend
@@RiteshShankar24 The i is to indicate an Intel processor. Legion 5i Pro 2021 will have an 11th gen Intel processor. 2022 model has a 12th gen one. Legion 5 Pro 2021 without i has an AMD processor, there's no 2022 model of that yet
lol I got my Lenovo Legion 5 with RTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 yesterday, it was my birthday. This is really because of you, helping out and being honest even if you get paid to do some reviews. Thanks. The screen is perfect for me, fans are not bad after 3 years with a GTX 1050Ti desktop, audio is gorgeous, so immersive. The only problem is the trackpad: it's a little bit loose on the right side.
Great video, thanks a lot Jarrod. A top 5 every 6 months would be really useful to be updated. And yes, 3060 or 6700m Versions would be really appreciated. Good value and hardware useful for more than 3 years. I won't miss future reviews especially midrange ones. Keep going!

I bought one of the new HP Omen 16s with a 6800H and 6650M for just over $1100 on sale. It's a total beast for the money. Seems to be the best value on the market. The 6650M is on par with a 3060, even faster in some games and the ram, storage (two slots) and battery are easily replaceable.
got a Legion 5 Pro late last year R7/3070m/16GB/1TB thanks to reviewers like Jarrod and i'm delighted with it, would recommend Legion laptops to everyone
late to say it but thank you for your presentation skill and videos. - You get straight to the point - Avoid unnecessary lame jokes and shoutout - Honest review and in depth detail
Just ordered the Legion 5 (2021) with a Ryzen 5, and 3050, 8 gb ram for $699 from Walmart. Spent an extra $50 for 16 gb DC 1Rx8 Ram. Just needed something to study and light gaming when I am not home with my Xbox and PS5.
The amount of knowledge he has along with his excellent presentation skills without any biasing just blows my mind.God bless him and love from India @Jarrod' Tech.
I got the Legion 5, non-pro with the 3060 for only £899. It is absolutely amazing, I’ve upgraded the ram from 8-16gb for a whole £25 and it runs like a dream.
Any particular reason the 2022 strix scar 15 didn’t make the list? Seems like great bang for buck based on your video and gets great reviews from what I’ve seen
It’s a downgrade in battery life imo because there’s no AMD model or mechanical keyboard anymore but there is a MUX switch. That literally is the only benefit to this year’s model…
YESS, been waiting for the round ups (so far) definitely a solid List if we're talking the "Best" excluding price tags. was wondering where do you get XMG NEO 15 from Aus Jarrod as that liquid cooling sounds CRAZY
They sent it to me with international shipping, I think Aftershock/Infinite sell similar chassis locally but not sure if any of them have introduced liquid cooling option yet.
Have you ever done a review of the Asus ROG Strix G15? If not, will you? I saw your review on the Advantage but not the normal. I just ordered the 3050 variation and want to know what you think about it .
@@JarrodsTech It hasn't been released in any region yet, but I hope they can send you a test example. I am curious about the Legion 5 too, but it's the 7 that can be bought with the top hardware.
After over 1 year watching you, I bought last year's Legion 5 with RTX 3060 on sale and the performance slaps hard. Massive upgrade from 4 year old MX150 budget laptop 💀
I upgraded to i7 12th gen and RTX 3070Ti with my 4 year old Lenovo IdeaPad 330 with i5 8th gen and UHD 620😶.... It feels like being a beggar for once and the next instance being called the king of the world. I bought the Alienware M15 R7 tho. Just so good.
Thanks to your reviews, I ended up choosing to get 2021 Legion 5. I'm loving it so far, probably because it's my first upgrade to a computer since 2012 LOL.
Just bought an Asus Strix Scar 15 with i9 and 3080Ti. Disappointed that it didnt make the cut. The only reason for buying it was that I change laptops very rarely (my last purchase was 10 years ago) thus, I decided to buy an overpowered machine if I end up pulling another 10 year stint with it or if I decide to give it to my kid a couple of years down the line.
i remeber u saying the exact thing when i asked about 1650 laptops and m so glad to hear that you put that in this specific video and brought talking about it. more love and support to you fam.
This video came at the perfect time. I was deciding if the Legion 5i Pro was still good to buy. It offers great specs and where I am from can range from 1000-2000. This video gave me confirmation and I’m on my way to buy one right now! Thanks Jarrod!
It's incredible the power that is inside that Titan laptop! I remember these types of laptops taking up so much room on your desk and dismal battery but the Titan looks surprisingly thin and the more efficient these CPUs become the longer the battery life is. Crazy!
Yea as much as the Titan will always be bulky because that's what it's supposed to be, the difference in thickness between the new model and it's predecessor is pretty impressive
hey jarrod i have a question which one should I get ASUS TUF dash F-15 RTX3070 or MSI GS66 stealth with 2070 ssuper max q with i7 10thgen waiting for the reply
I would stay away from the quad core 2021 Dash, 2022 might be better though. The 3070 performs worse than most 3060 laptops, and a 2070 Super should still handle anything well for some time yet.
Hello Jarrod, you said it was difficult to find budget laptop models, so I wanted to make a recommendation. The Strix R7 G15 2022 has a Ryzen 7 6800H (it came with a 5900HX last year), an RTX 3060 with 140W TGP (+10W from last year), a 1440p 165 hz screen (last year was 1080p 144 hz), 16 gb of ddr5 ram (last year was ddr4), Thermal Grizzly Liquid Metal on the cpu (same as last year) and 1 tb ssd PCIE 4.0.....for $1400 (last year model was $1300). I can give you a link to that if you need it.
2:48 I have to say, I'm really interested in a full-on comparison between the GT77 Titan, and the ROG Strix Scar 17 SE! The Titan can hold more NVMe storage, RAM, and has more cooling fans, WITH the phase change thermal paste, but even though the Strix Scar 17 SE has less RAM and NVMe storage slots, it has a FULL vapor chamber cooler, AND Thermal Grizzly's liquid metal thermal paste, so it should also stay nice and cool enough for true hard core computing power!
I'll just say, I'm a HUGE fan of desktop replacement laptops. I don't care that much about battery power. As long as I'm near a power outlet, which let's be honest, when isn't there a power outlet close by when using a laptop... indoors. I do understand the need for battery longevity when it comes to laptop use outdoors, or within large facilities. I just want a super powerful computer that I can use for pretty much EVERYTHING: gaming, media, CADD, CAM, and VM's, with 16+ CPU threads, 8+GB of VRAM, 2+TB of NVMe RAID storage, 32+GB RAM, and more!
Hmm the GT77 has gone back to MSI, I could do it just harder to edit as I don't have them side by side to film. I'll at least draw some comparisons in the review of the Scar though.
I’ve been gaming on the HP Pavilion laptop 1650 max q version. It’s not the most powerful by any means but I picked it up for $450 on sale from $599 and upgraded the ram instantly. It’s been the best purchase I’ve ever made, I was shocked what it could do.
Hi Jared, I'm choosing a laptop for myself, but I've been fixated on the diagonal, I've always used 24 inches before, and now I'm thinking whether 15.6 is too small and whether the difference with 17.3 inches is significant, the weight of the laptop and its dimensions are not important to me. What can you say about this? Will 15.6 inches be enough for games? If choose 17 inches, then I don't have much choice: MSI GP76 Leopard RTX 3070 i7-11800H ASUS ROG Strix G17 RTX 3070 Ryzen 7 5800H Well, if i take 15 inches, then the choice is much more, in this case I am more inclined to Legion 5 or legion 5 about 16 inches
Hello Jarrod! Can you pls suggest the best between Dell G15 5520, 3060 (2022)/ Asus F17 3060 (2022) / Legion Pro My purpose is for video production & MUX switch is my priority.
Great reviews. The XMG laptop comes at a price though. I ended up getting the Legion 5i pro as was fed up waiting for the legion 7 7th gen. The 5i pro is a fabulous laptop and i managed to get it for £1560 so am well chuffed. Great reviews too.

I'm pretty impressed by current gen laptops, but still waiting for RTX 4000. An MSI Titan will probably be my next pick if they continue with it into RTX 4000 and Intel 13th gen. Currently my Alienware Area 51m R1 with 9700k and RTX 2080 is still doing well performance wise. I'll be more careful next time around to get something without all the proprietary bloatware, a MUX switch, and an unlocked usable bios. A brighter higher resolution panel would be nice too, mine is 1080p 144hz, and I feel with the performance current laptops are pushing 1440p 144hz would be nice. Perhaps Miniled or OLED would be nice.
Just bought a last year version Legion 5 pro 5800h/16gb/512ssd/3060, i am very satisfied with it. Thx Jarrod, your recommendation and detailed review save me a lot of time and money
really looking forward to legion 5i to come in stock. There's legion 5 with 3060 config available in my country, but i think the cpu power from intel 12th gen is nice to have
@@martinnic8235 good for you man! really wish i could get that, but sadly legion 5i with 3070ti wont release here in my country, so i have to either take 3060 or get legion 5i pro (if i really want the 3070ti)
I have observed that for many of these gaming laptops, 2021 models and Asus 2022 models don't support HDR and mention it very diplomatically (hardware supports, but the display doesn't). And no reviewer has said this, going over $3000 and no HDR feels like being cheated. Lenovo does support, maybe Alienware too, but not sure about others.
The question is: Now that we are so close to the release if the next gen CPUs, will existing top end laptops go on sale or does that only happen when the new GPUs come out?

cant you buy laptop, review it and return it? in eu you would have 14 days for testing and what not and then you could return it no problem. i was bit worried that shop might bann me for doing something like this but when i asked if i could do this to test between different items they told me it wasnt an issue. but idk how its in australia or where you live
Returns don't really work that way in Australia. I need a good reason to take something back and in most cases there are fees to do it, or otherwise store credit to buy something else. Also 14 days isn't enough time, I have the next 2 months of laptop reviews planned out just with what I have here right now. In other countries it's much easier and lots of people do that.
@@JarrodsTech how long testing one laptop takes? isnt it like one day job? and i can imagine even that could be automated in such way you plug arduino into usb hole and let it do everything for you and when its done it would just spit out the numbers hopefully this comment doesnt insult you by devaluing your job or whatever, you are awesome, just curious how these things take

Using the 2022 L5iP with i7 and 3060. When I ordered it I hadn’t known know what a beast it would turn out to be. I love it in all regards, I’m able to use it as a work laptop too. It’s crazy fast for heavy Visual Studio projects and the quality of the webcam and especially the mic makes it good for meetings as well. I wouldn’t buy anything else if I could start over.
Thank you Jarrod for you videos, You always do a good job, Hope you can keep this going for long time man , and I think companies did little improvement and added some fancy labels...... Look at these graphic cards man , nothing new but a little tweak...... I think smartest thing can be waiting for next models and saving some money or buying last years high level models when they have good discounts
Ironically the main distinguishing feature that makes the XMG the best laptop for this year so far is the one that force it to run as a desktop PC. Similarly the 2022 laptop pricing so far brings many discounted 2021 laptops offerings back to the top of the 2022 bests list, at least in terms of value for the money.
I mean it's a good laptop even without the optional liquid cooler, it was in my top lists for the last couple of years before that was an option. This is just icing on the cake for enthusiasts and it's realistically still quite portable and easy to disconnect, just takes an extra 30-60 seconds.
Another detailed review thanks Jarrod. Would be great to know why the 2022 Asus Scar 15 didn't make the cut though, as per the comment above your review was very positive?
Just an FYI, for the last two months GPU price has reached it's msrp and keep falling. An $499 RTX 3070 from best buy is on par with the most expensive laptop GPU of 3080 Ti. So if your original intention is to choose laptop replace desktop due to prices you can check again now.
made my decision base on your revIews for buying Legion 5Pro with 3060rtx 1Tb Ssd and 32gb dual channel RAM. im receiving it tomorrow, got it around 1700$ here in UAE. Hopefully all goes well since im buying my first gaming laptop.
Is it worth getting the Ryzen 7 5800H over the Ryzen 5 5600H in the Legion 5 with an RTX 3060? Trying to find a good 17" gaming laptop for my fiance as she likes the larger screen size but we're trying to keep it around 1500 or under.

The best purchase for me yet.
Thanks Jarrod!
Was gonna buy that gt77 titan, is the legion pro really good?
What is the difference between 5ipro and 5 pro ?
@@RiteshShankar24 The i is to indicate an Intel processor. Legion 5i Pro 2021 will have an 11th gen Intel processor. 2022 model has a 12th gen one. Legion 5 Pro 2021 without i has an AMD processor, there's no 2022 model of that yet
About to sell my legion 5 pro and build a significantly more powerful desktop for a few hundred dollars more.
I am in doubt btw the zephyrus g15 and the M16.Will wait for your comparison video 🙂.Nice video btw😍.
It will be a good video, coming soon!

@@JarrodsTech please compare flow x16 too.
16:10 resolution is annoying to watch movies, video content on, cuz the black bars are too big and some games like Elden Ring just dont support it.
lol I got my Lenovo Legion 5 with RTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 yesterday, it was my birthday.
Keep going!
I listened to every single word till the end of the video and never got bored even once. Informative, interesting, ear-pleasing, eye pleasing, unique. This is how laptop reviews are supposed to be!
Great video. You had me on the Insomnium t-shirt btw. Most underrated band of our time.
Good to hear it's going well!
Same!
The only thing I hate about my legion 5 pro is the lack of WOL and the garbage speakers
6:25 behold!! the best looking laptop ever!!!! I dont think i've ever seen a laptop this good looking.

late to say it but thank you for your presentation skill and videos.

- Avoid unnecessary lame jokes and shoutout
- Honest review and in depth detail
Would love for you to do an updated version of this just before black friday. Im in the market for a high end gaming laptop and loving your content.
What about the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15? It didnt make your top 5 list?
Was waiting for this video!! Thank you Jarrod!
Hope you enjoyed it!
Just ordered the Legion 5 (2021) with a Ryzen 5, and 3050, 8 gb ram for $699 from Walmart. Spent an extra $50 for 16 gb DC 1Rx8 Ram. Just needed something to study and light gaming when I am not home with my Xbox and PS5.
woah, thats a steal,
I bought my legion 5 ryzen 4600h for $1088 back then here at the Ph, ;(
I came from the other video ❤️☀️You are amazing.. Can't stop watching your videos..
The amount of knowledge he has along with his excellent presentation skills without any biasing just blows my mind.God bless him and love from India @Jarrod' Tech.
when will you upload a video review about Lenovo Legion Slim 7i? Im to excited!😆
I got the Legion 5, non-pro with the 3060 for only £899. It is absolutely amazing, I’ve upgraded the ram from 8-16gb for a whole £25 and it runs like a dream.
Insane deal
Broo finally a video without any annoying long introductions. Skipped 20 seconds out of habit and had to go back. Thanks!!!!!
I figured there was enough ASUS in the list already lol.
@@JarrodsTech so it'd still be a pretty good choice then right? Also thanks for all the reviews you do, very thorough and high quality 🙏
YESS, been waiting for the round ups (so far) definitely a solid List if we're talking the "Best" excluding price tags.
was wondering where do you get XMG NEO 15 from Aus Jarrod as that liquid cooling sounds CRAZY
😎
I can vouch for liquid cooling on the Eluktronics version of the 15" Laptop. Just use distilled water only!
I'm using Neo 15 with LC and can confirm it's crazy good. With i9 and LC it basically outruns GE76 with HK processor.
They sent it to me with international shipping, I think Aftershock/Infinite sell similar chassis locally but not sure if any of them have introduced liquid cooling option yet.
@@styrski holy shit that's crazy
Have you ever done a review of the Asus ROG Strix G15? If not, will you? I saw your review on the Advantage but not the normal. I just ordered the 3050 variation and want to know what you think about it .
ASUS have never offered me that model in the past.
@@JarrodsTech oh. Unfortunate. But thanks anyway though.
July is going to be my special month because I’m owning a gaming laptop as my birthday present. Thanks for the info so I can pick one of these.
I am sooooo curious about the Legion 7 with AMD Advantage, and see how it performs.
Me too! Still waiting for them to send it!
@@JarrodsTech It hasn't been released in any region yet, but I hope they can send you a test example. I am curious about the Legion 5 too, but it's the 7 that can be bought with the top hardware.
Really looking forward to your Lenovo Legion 7 Gen 7 full review!
After over 1 year watching you, I bought last year's Legion 5 with RTX 3060 on sale and the performance slaps hard. Massive upgrade from 4 year old MX150 budget laptop 💀
Huge upgrade!
Great laptop, picked up one at the end of last year.
I upgraded to the same laptop from a dell inspiron (6 years old) with Intel HD graphics 😅 great choice
Should I buy the Lenovo 5 pro rtx 3070 for 2000 dollars? It seems like the best value from what I saw
Looking forward to the M16 vs G15 comparison and recommendation
It's going to be a good one!
Great video 👍 , which one's the better buy with rtx 3060 graphics , 2021 zephyrus g15 with ryzen 9-5900HS or 2022 strix g15 with ryzen 7-6800H?
It's incredible the power that is inside that Titan laptop! I remember these types of laptops taking up so much room on your desk and dismal battery but the Titan looks surprisingly thin and the more efficient these CPUs become the longer the battery life is. Crazy!
Yea as much as the Titan will always be bulky because that's what it's supposed to be, the difference in thickness between the new model and it's predecessor is pretty impressive
hey jarrod i have a question which one should I get
ASUS TUF dash F-15 RTX3070 or MSI GS66 stealth with 2070 ssuper max q with i7 10thgen
waiting for the reply
Doesn’t sound very budget lol
@@reesekilpatrick241 mid range then. I suppose budget is a 5800H 3050 ti from last year for $900
link :3
I bought the Legion 5 AMD model in 2020 by extensively going to your videos.....always love to check this type of videos.....keep up bro!!
Keep up the great work Jarrod! You’re my favorite laptop reviewer 😃
the vid i was looking for!
I'll at least draw some comparisons in the review of the Scar though.
straight to the point! i expect like 3 mins talk before he starts actually showing the laptops, nc bro
I’ve been gaming on the HP Pavilion laptop 1650 max q version. It’s not the most powerful by any means but I picked it up for $450 on sale from $599 and upgraded the ram instantly. It’s been the best purchase I’ve ever made, I was shocked what it could do.
i was waiting for an updated version from you. my go-to guy for gaming laptops. hope i can find one within my budget
If choose 17 inches, then I don't have much choice:
MSI GP76 Leopard RTX 3070 i7-11800H
ASUS ROG Strix G17 RTX 3070 Ryzen 7 5800H
Well, if i take 15 inches, then the choice is much more, in this case I am more inclined to Legion 5 or legion 5 about 16 inches
Is the 5800H/3070, the last year's model, still worth it, compared to the newer processors and not-so-newer GPUs?
That "titan" is freaking awesome. But well out of my budget range.
Good video and good Melodic Death Metal band on your shirt! Good taste.
Can't wait for your Legion Slim 7 (AMD) MiniLED vs Flow X16 MiniLED! They are gonna be the most balanced productivity + gaming laptops.
Can't wait to get them!
Pretty sure Lenovo confirmed no mini led on AMD.
I am awaiting for a laptop with high TGP 3060 or 3070TI laptop for Data Science and AI Simulation and algorithms for big data visualization. I was thinking of going for Ryzen 6900HX or i7 12th Gen. I am also working on Network technologies and learning Firewall and cybersecurity over Cloud.
What would be the best option for a working professional who also needs atleast 4-5 hours of battery life?
Budget: 2 lac INR
Should I wait longer for another laptop or go for anything that's around for 2000-2200 USD?
Looking for usually 17.3 inch or so for better screen as I am working on large data and visualizations. Small screen makes tough to work on large models..
Thanks for making this review, and I love your Insomnium shirt!
Ok so you are rich... So buy all this, simple choice

Whether the Legion 5i 2022 worth ??
How is the MSI Modern 14? I have a i5 11th Gen one!
There is no one who reviews laptops and hardware better then you.

cant you buy laptop, review it and return it? in eu you would have 14 days for testing and what not and then you could return it no problem. i was bit worried that shop might bann me for doing something like this but when i asked if i could do this to test between different items they told me it wasnt an issue. but idk how its in australia or where you live
@@JarrodsTech how long testing one laptop takes? isnt it like one day job? and i can imagine even that could be automated in such way you plug arduino into usb hole and let it do everything for you and when its done it would just spit out the numbers

Is there any particular reason the 2022 Asus Scar 15 didn't make the top 5 list? Your review of it seemed very positive.
