- In this full #review I will explain all the specs of the 2024 #Mazda3 #Hatchback then take it for a test drive. The Mazda 3 Hatchback gained 5 hp for 2023 and special Carbon trim exclusively for the Turbo hatchback for 2024. Mazda adds a larger infotainment screen for the turbo trims but they still have quirks which will bring me to my pros and cons.

I’m 6’1” tall, I have the PP turbo in red and I fit behind myself just fine because I don’t sit and position my seat as if it was a recliner like so many of the younger drivers do today… as if you were riding in a low rider!
Thanks for your sharing
Great review
Thank you
Got a preferred trim, a couple gripes, no rear speakers my 2012 Ford focus sounded better, and no accessory 12v port. Overall though love the car and wouldn't switch it out for the Hondas, Toyotas, and Subarus i test drove. Although the 2024 Impreza came close. Mazda 3 just has a superior interior at the similar trim levels
Mazda does a good job with the interior
TY, as I am considering the AWD Mazda and the Impreza.
I have a 2020 HB preferred and that one has 12 speaker Bose system including a subwoofer that sits on top of the spare tire and the system sounds very good.
I have the exact same car! I love it
They are nice congratulations
As per tech specs from Mazda all 3s are recommended Regular Gas including the “Turbo” which does give you extra HP and torque “IF” you wish to use Premium
It’s on the sticker, which is on the video in the first few seconds, I don’t make this stuff up 🤷♂️
How difficult or easy is it getting in and out of front seat for less flexible older people?
The opening to the front is long and wide but it is a little low 👍
I have the previous model mazda 3 skyactive. Its a great car and it has one plus point that few can match ..... They never go wrong !!!!
They are nice 👍
i like the Mazda3, but the weird, bulbous styling/shape towards the rear is really off-putting IMO from various angles, so I went with a CX-30 instead. Plus, i really like the elevated ground clearance & seating position in the CX-30 vs the Mazda3.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I disagree, the rear in my opinion is super cool looking!
"weird, bulbous shape"?? Please, you just described every SUV...the 3 hatch is not only the best looking hatch, it's a super performer, with a few upgrades; big brake kit, H&R progressive springs, etc., but best-of-all: the MANUAL transmission! FYI, I own a C8 Corvette and a Mustang Mach-E GT, but I always take the 3 when I'm running errands, the fun-factor is off the scale...
Fuk SUV
why dont they give you the best stereo system in all trims, they arent that expensive
That is a great point
I don’t understand why Mazda does not include independent wheel suspension in the back!😮 I have a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback GT and the rear suspension sucks! Everything else is awesome!
I agree it changes the drive 👍
The 2018 DOES have IRS. The 2019’s and up have the cheap, crappy dodge caravan torsion beam rear suspension out back.
Totally agree with you, with a multilink rear suspension, it would be awesome! I don't like torsion beam and how it reacts, as most of european cars have this setting.
Yep, I test drove a 2023 Turbo Premium Plus hatch - on my Chicago roads. The ride quality was worse than my 2012 Mazda 3 with 240,000 miles.
No 12 volt outlet on 2024 carbon edition
I get it 👍
How much longer are they going to keep putting tablet displays in cars its so passe ...
I agree the tech is going out of control
The infotainment system IS touch screen able.
2024 models have it
Black Wheels?
Yep
The sedan has a more luxury look.
The sedan is nice, this is more sporty on the outside
But the chrome doesnt look as good as hatch in front. Hatch looks better in front end. Looks more modern.
but it is made in Mexico while the hatchback in japan
@@miopera40no way!!! You serious ?! Thank goodness I read your comment . Might as well get a KIA forte if I want something made in Mexico. Definitely going for hatchback now
Biggest Problem? The Porthole for a back window. Was gonna buy but no rear veiw out the back window!
Thanks for sharing 👍
You get used to it. And I feel the side mirrors actually provide a very good view compared to some other behicles
No rear air vents or usb..really? Pfft
It’s happens on a lot of vehicles 👍
The one huge problem I see is that it's not a manual.
Thanks for your input 👍
The manual transmission is available in the Premium trim hatchback.
Curious, can a 2" lift kit be added to the premium manual Mazda 3? Just a few more inches of ground clearance would be huge considering the roads and streets where I live. Thanks
@@Chubbydippindon’t be dumb.
@@tg8150 Funny. You think I have a choice? Tomorrow I'm deciding to be a genius. Thankyou Ma'am.
Did you say 6 spd automatic CVT? Kinda of confusing. Let me clear it up. The car come in a truly 6spd auto yes it has gears. The non- turbo preminum trim comes with 6spd manual.
I don’t think you listen well, I said the nice thing is if you are comparing this to Toyota and Honda that has a cvt, here is a 6 speed automatic 🤷♂️

This car although very nice, is now 6 years old with ZERO updates. It looks just like a 2019.
Buy the new Impreza, it out handles the now torsion beam rear suspension on the Mazda and the WRX steering rack makes the RS feel like a go kart.
The CVT just feels like a smooth auto and is a non factor for this type of car. The 3 is outdated.
I reviewed it the suspension isn’t much better check it out for yourself. This is where I test the BMWs, Maseratis, Lexus, Subarus and ect.
It’s a lowered Crosstrek now which before this it was a lot better.
2024 Subaru Impreza RS is a Crosstrek NOW :All Specs & Test Drive

Leave it to a Subey fanboy to complain about a torsion beam then praise a cvt in the same comment
As an ex owner of 1994 and 1998, Integra, the new one doesn't look nice at all. It's just a riced out acura sedan.
I would wait for the 2025 mazda3 turbo. New design and larger size.
The Subaru CVT is a great big NO. It will embarass you if you do a 3-point turn.
The only problem, big or small, I’m having with my 2024 2.5 6MT is the cylinder deactivation.. Absolutely awful execution; feels like a misfire going from 4 to 2 cyls on the freeway, and around town 1600 - 1800 RPM in 5th or 6th the vibration during the 2 cyl cycle is unacceptable. This is my 20th or so new car in nearly 45 years of driving, excluding my sports and collectible cars. It is a singularly non-essential feature ruining an otherwise very good daily driver. The 2.5L is a great engine on its own; with a great manual trans in a light, hatchback package. It works best on all four cylinders.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I have the same car, '24 hatch MT...I swear I don't think this car has ever gone into 2 cyl mode. At least I never felt it. I don't put it in 5-6th gear at under 2000rpm, so maybe that's why. It's a free-revving engine but it loses torque at low rpm. Is there a dash light to show cyl deact is engaged?
First of all, I don't understand why this car exists. It's basically a shorter Sedan with pretty much the same price.
More choices gives more sales 👍
So you can have a hatch back, and so you can have a car from Japan and not Mexico. The sedan comes from Mexico.
You don't understand the difference between a hatchback and a sedan? Try thinking about it for a minute, you'll get there...
👍
