    Took my Tundra back out to Moab and ran a few different trails that weekend. This highlights video covers Fins n Things up to optional obstacle #4 because that’s where my steering rack seals blew out and I lost my power steering.
    Fins n Things was a DNF for me and I exited the trail with no power steering. I was running the trail with 18psi on my tires, possibly could’ve aired down a bit more for more traction.

    Toyota needs to come up with a “Badge of Honor” program similar to Jeep’s. You earned one!

    Hell yeah! Just took my 2017 Tundra down Fins 'n Things during Jeep Safari! When the Jeep is broken and on the trailer, the tow rig goes wheeling!
    It actually got me thinking. When it's time for a new truck, I may build the Tundra. I wouldn't hate wheeling in heated leather seats all the time!

      Glad you got some seat time on fins n things with the tundra. The rear end does love to drag out there but it’s not bad!

    It's pretty difficult to pick a wheel up on a Tundra. My friend has one and I've done some tests on it and I'm pretty impressed with it. Nobody really thinks about flex when they talk about Tundras but they have it! It ain't bad at all !

    Great driving, there's alot of steel in that rig to get through those trails. Apparently it's possible to wheel with a cap on your truck, I just put one on my old Tundy and was worried there might be strength issues.

      It’ll wheel just fine with a cap but the bed stiffeners are recommended for the integrity of the bed.

    • @beehivetundra
      @beehivetundra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That said I don’t use stiffeners lol

      Yeah bro! I’m still waiting on my replacement steering rack to get here so I can swap it out and get this back on the road. But they’re taking their sweet time shipping it out.

    What is the width of the tire, backspace/offset of the wheels and which upper control arms are you running?

    My truck! Same setup. How much air is in the tires here?

    • @beehivetundra
      @beehivetundra  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think I was around 15psi here

    Are those stock towing mirrors? I’d like to find a set for my ‘19 Tundra.

    • @beehivetundra
      @beehivetundra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes they’re the stock ones. They are pretty nice but the passenger side is near sighted so it will take some getting used to.

    What size tires are on this Tundra? 35's? Oh and BTW was it the bouncing that caused the steering rack seals to leak?

    • @beehivetundra
      @beehivetundra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      They’re 37’s. And the bouncing was probably the last straw for the steering rack seals. But I routinely tow with the Tundra, it had a lift, oversized tires, plenty of off road driving and I usually turn the steering wheel lock to lock so all of that combined across 8 years just finally did them in.

    • @dalephillips8250
      @dalephillips8250 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@beehivetundra Wow! 37's! Ok thanks for the info. 8 years with a lot of off-roading is acceptable.

    What is that bag on the tailgate?

    • @beehivetundra
      @beehivetundra  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re called Trasharoo, it’s just a heavy duty trash bag. But there’s many companies that make them. It’s simply to avoid carrying your garbage in the truck.
