I love playing against wizards because its free parry practice. I also love playing as wizard because I get to smack down people trying to use me as free parry practice.
Not gonna lie fire wave is by far the best (except orb) spell due to the fact it creates a literal wall that gives you time to set up/push opponent away or limit their moves/or gust it into their face for a cheeky combo, love this spell
I only use magic missile as a pressure option, firing it behind me, as I charge at my opponent as aggressively as I can. Also, the orb fires a projectile every time you use tomb, which means you can barate your opponent with projectiles from afar with your orb by just spamming tomb. Aggresive melee wizard is my favourite.

What’s funny is that wizards actually have a ton of defensive options: their offensive options. “Stasis dart” is my personal favorite as a quick and dirty defensive setup (flipped dart at minimum distance right behind you.) “Benji Hopping” (repeated fastfall missile form off the ground) is brutal for covering options as much as it covers distance and destroys cowboy’s Impale. Flamewave. Unparriable, easily gusted, totally tasty when some punk tries to jump over it. Speaking of, of course, there is the one and only… Gust. God I love that shit, so good for so many things from combo extension to forcing whiffs to “projectile mixups” when peeps think they can get in some free parry practice. With gust, every projectile nearby is a threat, making shit like orb, spark bomb, and telekinesis more oppressive than ever. Few things are more satisfying than being surrounded with projectiles and quickly advancing towards the opponent thinking they’re safe or knowing that *every second they’re not running I’m only getting closer.* Plus, let’s you collect all your sparkbombs in a nice little pile to pull off the tech known as "ICBMF" (intercorner ballistic Missile-Form) Anyhow, eager to see coverage of modded chars! (Also, word of advice: if you encounter a *LIL FUCKIN RAT BASTARD* in your modded lobby, they’re a Metatherm. Exercise caution and try to keep the pressure on because chances are someone’s probably going to explode and you do not want to be that person.)

Got the "Tomeslaptomeslaptomeslaptomeslap" achievement in my first multiplayer game of this game last night, and that's when I knew, I will likely spend many hours on this glorious combat sim.

I play the demo version of yomi hustle and my god, there was a wizard where he could of dealt like insane damage if he used anything else other than magic darts. I mean hell, I am stuck next to multiple of these shock orbs and instead of conjuring weapon to deal a good amount of damage he just used magic dart.
Spark bom :> Idk how many people ever use it as a sort of melee weapon. People rarely expect the bom to move super fast. You can surprise them by using gust and slamming the spark bom into them, or zephyr to create an explosive shield around you. It's my favorite super because people rarely use it as an offensive weapon other than an anxiety generator.
spark boost opens up so much more to me. i've been playing yomi hustle every few months and wizard is always my go to pick i love setting up elaborate projectile combos. also what you said at 3:18 is so true
Spamming projectiles is really weak, its so easy to parry. . . But I play wizard for one reason and one reason only. THE ORB! The orb is so fun! And combing with it, throwing someone into the orb. . . So fun. Benji hopping with missile form is also fun.
Just got the game last night, played one game of singleplayer as ninja vs wizard, and all i could think was dang, i want this to seem fair, but like... Wizard just seems busted. So i took it into a multiplayer lobby listed as for beginners, and played wizard against a ninja, and literally went perfect against him until like, the last 30-50 framesish when he got a good back to back block on me in the corner and started to do a bit of damage when my magic darts from a while ago finally showed up and finished him off. The biggest thing i learned early on is that Wizard just seems to have a counter to just about everything, at least in ninjas kit, qnd playing hyper aggressive is just so fun, and the amount of chaining various ranged attacks into a missle form engage combo, they just dont have a chance
Cool, but have you ever tried missile form + free cancel into conjure blade? It's almost as satisfying as hitting a spark boost because you get to bamboozle your opponent into thinking you will use a defensive move, but in reality, you just prepare something even heavier for them. Then you just watch as they attempt to use a heavy attack to time with your nonexistent parry/dodge.
The thing i hate about wozzard as a ninja main is that wizzards always put me into position where i just can't approach them while the shit out as much projectiles as possible and when i DO approach them they have a fucking conjusture weapon that literraly cant be contered because it beats most of my moves even if they are faster. You can say "skill issue" and yes its kinda is but how can you conter that move?
Can i give you a tip? If you like this type of content, you should start using mods. They are like the most fun part of YOMIH and every single player i’ve been up against used them. (Fuck you muted)

(Also moonwalker but it’s moreso because Starcall is an absolute problem move. Otherwise they’d be strong but not agonizing.)
