The wizard is as difficult as it is, but it is also a great character who can greatly increase the potential of damage by connecting to the Orb combo if he brings the right to attack. The main character I used when I first entered this game is the wizard.
Useful combo for wizard against cowboy. If you use float + reverse + book slap, you move backwards at the same speed and about the same distance as a back dash, just enough for most first options to miss, with the same frame cost, with the addition of hitting behind you, which catches them out of their "teleport behind and stab you move" while at the same time giving you enough momentum to keep slapping them with the book before following up with fireball, or a Mana strike placed just behind them when they're out of book range, which'll knock them back into book range. Close range wizard is fun.
People tend to see a zoner in a fighting game and immediately think “oh yes, the toxic and lame one” They always forget that this isn’t a normal fighting game.

Rushdown wizard is fun but whenever I catch people in combos with it they forfeit :(
