Dunlop Band of Gypsies. Hands down my favorite straight-up Fuzzface, even though it's actually an Octavia circuit minus the oct^up. Wild, untamed, wooly, it's not for everyone. But I love it.

Those sonus pedals are the best. My gf bought me the grey fox wah and its the perfect wah sound that I always loved and wanted. Might consider a sonys fuzz someday!
That Germanium Sonus definitely had some upper harmonics going on. Really cool sound.
Sonus 66 cleans up nice, Dunlop Germanium sounds close more aggressive flat out.

Absolutely gorgeous tones from the Sonus 1966 Fuzz Face Replica. Nothing like the glassy cleanup of a good fuzz face.

The SONUS has less hum and buzz and better tone with that FAT sound.Great shoot out.Think I like the NHT275 66 Germanium the best.
Bear in mind that they are all chained together, not in a true bypass switcher. That's going to affect the impedance and noise floor, even with them running on batteries.

Kind of non topic but where can I get one of those super long whammy arms, what is the specific model of arm called? Btw I was satisfied with the Dunlop, only downside is the clean up

I have the band of gypsy's one and one of the new vox handwired wahs and ordered an original Shin-ei Uni-Vibe, just need an Octavia and im good to go ;]
Jonathan Kosyjana did you ever get the Octavia? I’m thinking of buying a used JHOC1. I have a Pigtronix Octava which sounds great and is a great pedal but I like to stay with more of the Hendrix vibe. Original Shin-ei must sound incredible. It may be the best pedla ever made.

Every guitar nut should have 1 sil and 1 germ on their boards. I love sil bc108 or 109 for lead works and a germ for dirty rhythms then u can say FTW and run both same time

Sonus pedals on this demo sound absolutely Great! But why are the Dunlop pedals so noisey...I have both of these Dunlop Fuzz Faces and they donìt have the excessive noise of the ones in this video.
Obsolete Recordings I also have the Hendrix silicon fuzz and don't have this noise. Perhaps because the Sonus pedals are not dimed. The Dunlop pedals are maxed out. Hate to say it but it does not look like a fair comparison :(
4:23 pls watch the whole thing before spreading BS. theres more examples of me 'diming' the dunlops in the video. i did both full blasts and dimed down comparisons between both. why is the dunlops noisier in the video and your dunlops not? well simple you have never compared them. it only becomes apparent when you lay them side by side.
I also have one of each of the Dunlop pedals in this video, and they are nowhere near as noisy as yours are and one is a totally original from '69.
@@crownjewelmusicgearreview9430 What are you talking about? Everybody knows buffers and fuzz face don't mix well, but I don't see any buffers in this chain.
@@FACTBOT_5000 The Dunlops are noisy because they have two other fuzz pedals in front of them. Everybody knows fuzzes, especially Germanium ones, want to the first in the chain.
The Sonus with the NKTs knocks all the others out of the park.
They clean up really well but sound too muddy for me! If you listen to jimi's tone it's really clear and defined, the sonus ones are soaked in fuzzyness

Why is it no one plays the treble pup with these things maxed out?!🙄 That is the true test as to whether they will do a true cloning of Hendrix’s lead tone since that is the position he played his solo’s in the majority of the time.
i played treble most of the time on the demo :) still sounds like shit huh? :P
@@TheVibratory I apologize if it sounded like I was directing that comment at you because I meant the majority of FF demos never use that position but you do which I greatly appreciate! If a player is a true student of the Hendrix tones then they must dial the treble pup in before all else or they will miss the point.

TheVibratory Anyone else on TH-cam doing comparison videos I might say,"Harsh words, man." But your skills are undeniable(not just compared to this commenter) and Sonus products "speak" for themselves. Especially, with so many companies trying to say they found the only true NKT transistors left on the planet. Hard to find any Sonus products where I am the U.S. I played the Grey Fox wah(wonderful), but the guy wanted too much for it. Funny thing is the most expensive new NKT Fuzz I've got to try out(Analogman) didn't sound as good as they're cheaper silicon and germanium pedals to me.
