My rule is avoid anything Hendrix ever used. There have been more than enough strat + univibe + fuzz face + wah into a Marshall guitar players. Robin Trower and SRV both tried. SRV had to go full Texas to get over it and Robin Trower is mainly only known by a specific type of guitarist. The only thing worse than having a watered down Hendrix rig is trying to dress like him. No one will ever be that cool or smooth, and his style was forward thinking *at the time*

Band of Gypsys Mini Fuzz Face all the way. Works great on both humbuckers and single coil guitars. It has been on my board since they released the pedal. It reminds me of the Miami Pop Festival performance of Hendrix where his tone was INSANE. Super aggressive when you want it to be. Cheers!

I have the blue silicon mini. My brother got it for me for Christmas and he knows nothing about guitar. It’s one of my favorite pedals. It’s almost entirely impractical and insanely loud, but I play it at home into a big ol’ memory man and a USA Blues Jr. through an old Jensen Concert 15.... and that’s how I spend a lot of nights.
Hmm I ordered the blue mini FF from Sweetwater and it was awful Radio signals and super noisy Very dissatisfied Glad you got a good one I don't think they QC the transistors so really have to try them out I suppose Oh well
Paul Cowart There is an internal trim pot that you can adjust w/ a small philips head screwdriver. It affects the bias of those transistors. Mess with it and see if you can’t get some better luck.
Drew Sollars just run your wah after FF. If you hate that, get the MXR BC105 Fuzz. It’s the the same exact fuzz with a buffer so it’ll behave after the wah.
The teal Hendrix was my fave. Well done, with all of them. I don't actually own any JHS pedals yet but I think I want to buy them all, just because Josh seems to be the most supportive and classy dude in the industry.

Quick Fact... The new Psych 69 mini series Dunlop Hendrix Octavio has a switch to bypass the octave circuit. This setting gives you the red Band of Gypsies Fuzz Face (which was an Octavia with the octave circuit removed). I emailed Dunlop and they confirmed this. 😉
My wife got me the Hendrix Experience mini-fuzz and I was so excited for it that the first thing I did was run it with my bass, plugged to my Fender Bass Amp... Motörhead sound, right there...

Your recommendation for the wren and cuff de la riva fuzz was spot on dude. I absolutely love that pedal. With some tweaking on the dip switches you can dial in any fuzz tone you need. From some low gain Velcro rip vintage style fuzz to full on face melting bush and pumpkins muff tones. It is so good with unwanted noise to. I have the quartermaster x8 and I run it with all different drives and distortion pedals before and after it and im getting endless great tones man. Love the he show and what your doing. Your also a great entertainer man. You and the rest of the crew make a great team. I look forward to the new uploads.
Your idea of ' dialling in ' is wrong. These days manufacturing doesn't give you a choice. YOU might think you're ' getting tones ' but that's also wrong.

That ghost bass player is super solid. Love this eppy! The Gypsy fuzz is my go to sound and I absolutely love its different and dynamic fuzzy goodness. But now I might need to go get me some more of these minis!
Have the blue one, and although it sounds good, there is a drastic volume decrease when engaged, even with the volume maxed out. Good for recording but not usable in a live situation
My JHS Muffuletta pedal covers so many fuzz types, along with my EQD Park fuzz, and a DS-1, I think I'm covered. If I got a mini fuzz from this video, it's be the black Joe mini to use with humbucker guitars I own/play.
So my question is: how does the MXR Classic 108 Fuzz Mini relate to the Fuzzface Mini series? Does it sound similar to the silicone models in this series...or does the roundness of the face enclosure add some extra mojo?
A C It’s not the same as the Hendrix one. Even within BC108 circuits, there are differences with gain, and cleanup. The buffered option BC108 is just different, whether it’s a 108B or 108C, or the leakage is different o the trannies. I have both, and I try out BC108 circuits whenever I come across them, looking for one that gets as glassy as my JHF1.
The mini MXR does not sound as good as the OG big box, which is one of my favorite BC108 Fuzzfaces. The mini sounds weaker and smaller. I guess size does matter after all :p
Bought the grey Jimi Fuzz 4 weeks ago. Have to play a Hendrix set tomorrow. It is GREAT! I also have the copper J.B. but it is so temperature sensitive I got crazy on live performances.
This episode is a joy. Thanks very much. I own the FFM2. I love what it does. It's slightly frustrating that it hates modulation and filters being in the chain, but it's glorious on its own. I keep hoping someone will make a version that works in a loop switcher
You're at the 1st beginning level of knowledge. Lots of what you think is right is actually wrong. Dude, realize these are professional pedals. Manufacturers are competing at a high level with multiple effects units. They're not building 1 to be by itself. Its part of a mix&Match set.
I like my own FF because I've got a Bias pot and a bunch of sockets in it. Sziklai paired SiG with a variable HFE bypass resistor using a Gt320a and s9018 right now for q2 and the s9018 alone for q1. Lots of Biasing adjustments
My favorite fuzz face type thingy is the tweak fuzz by Seymour dunkin . The switched cap before the circuit makes it so versatile, like a dirty boy but 900$ cheaper. But I'm going to get a mini fuzz face, because of this video

There is nothing like a Fuzz Face combined with a Strat at the neck position. Just found this out today as I just bought my first Strat. So cool!

I have the MXR version of the Gypsy Fuzz, which is almost the same as the Dunlop version. It's my favorite of all fuzzes. It's very versatile.

Classic 108 and jimi hendrix one is just the same sound,the mxr just has the buffer option

Bought the grey Jimi Fuzz 4 weeks ago. Have to play a Hendrix set tomorrow. It is GREAT! I also have the copper J.B. but it is so temperature sensitive I got crazy on live performances.

I like my own FF because I've got a Bias pot and a bunch of sockets in it. Sziklai paired SiG with a variable HFE bypass resistor using a Gt320a and s9018 right now for q2 and the s9018 alone for q1. Lots of Biasing adjustments

My favorite fuzz face type thingy is the tweak fuzz by Seymour dunkin . The switched cap before the circuit makes it so versatile, like a dirty boy but 900$ cheaper. But I'm going to get a mini fuzz face, because of this video
