This was great advice. I've been booth renting a room in the back of a barbershop for 7.5 yrs and am relocating to a suite in September. I also reduced my schedule to thu-sat once covid hit and my clients understood and now it's my permanent schedule. I agree w everything you said about not raising your prices until you solidified the loyalty and I plan to wait about 6 months as well. Even though technically I been working for my self 7 years this suite makes me feel even more independent bc I can decorate how I want and its my rules. I'm excited for this next chapter.
Real game !!!!Good advice to everyone starting out and even some of us who developed bad habits after years in the game....i try n get through to the barbers that work with me but it seems that everyone want the glory but only few are ready for the sacrifice...Glad to see you doin good with the new chapter of you career!!!much Respect ✊🏼 💯kepp pushin!!!
Your journey has motivated me to push further in the barber industry. I would love to see myself doing what your doing in a suite and take more time with my family 💯
🔥 I’m a barber student and just landed my spot at a shop. So seeing people like yourself and the rest of the tomb 45 crew have helped me so much! Deff an inspiration, I really appreciate the content bro. God bless 🙏🏻
Great video bro!!! I am a licensed barber that's fairly new to the industry and I love it and everything your say is what I needed to hear. Love these type videos
Much love Matt. I was in the union for laborers apprenticeship. Making good money, but gave it up to become a barber. So I appreciate all the advice you be giving bro. Sometimes I feel if I made the right choice.? Almost done with school. Again thanks Matt.🙏
Building a relationship is super important..... and as I am learning people sometimes just want someone to talk to, and as barbers it’s always good to listen
Thank you for this vid. I rent my own suite too and it's been a struggle. I'm always there and trying hard to build. Post-covid how do I market person to person? Been doing the bring me 2 clients next one is on me.👍🏾
Matt you said I’m not accepting no food or drinks right now...but check out this smoothie my client brought me. Haha love the content, just thought that was funny.
I appreciate the knowledge. Looking forward to watching the next video. would you ever talk to some of your TH-cam followers on a personal level?. I have questions as a student barber. Hope you can help. Thanks again.
I got my license 4 years ago and I was working in a shop with two other barbers and left and opened my own shop cuz I wanted my own space and I'm still opened and do nothing but appts that's the best way to build your week I work alone and cut like 50 to 60 cuts in 4 day's so u know what ur talking about
What about the retirement game? The expensive taxes that leave barbers broke? The expensive stateboard tickets? The painfull splinters in barbers hands.
how do u go thru sitting in a shop with days of literally 0 clients not a single person walks in asking for me because i’m so new what do u do build frm this standpoint
California we got shutdown again. Being an apprentice, I’m building a clientele and this is making it tougher definitely. If you were in my position, would u charge shop prices for house calls?
Love this type of entrepreneurial training with a focus on balancing family! Bless you, your wife, and your child!
