It was in South Dakota so it has a little rust and the interior is pretty ratty. But everything works except the cruise control. Best part is it was only $2500!

I love this. I had a white and blue cobra that was pretty much trashed by the time I bought it. It was going to be a project car, but the newer models (87-93 kept calling my name at the time. So I spent more money on buying a newer car and never modified it, lol. Sold the cobra to another guy who probably never finished it either.

Guess what I bought in '81? A Mustang with the Cobra package, Recaro seats, T-Top, etc. Most beautiful-looking car I ever owned. I agree, whole exhaust from header back is trash
Y'all could not have picked a more unique theme for this build, of an '82 Snake.
My God that car has 'MERICA written aaaaaall over it!
I can't believe how much fox bodies cost nowadays
10 years ago you couldn't give the. Away. Insane. Same with square body pickups.
About a year ago I picked up a 91 LX 5.0 5speed that already had a lot of these mods. K member, long tube headers, coil-overs, very nice sounding mufflers and 3.73 gears. It was in South Dakota so it has a little rust and the interior is pretty ratty. But everything works except the cruise control. Best part is it was only $2500!
@@sherloidbai7064 that's true. I remember a kid who had a mach 1 mustang and it cost like 3500 bucks
Good I hope that means I can get a decent amount of money for my 88 coupe.
Old farts like me who were driving age when these were popular, we finally have jobs that pay good, our kids are out of college and our houses are about paid off...so we go out and buy the cars that we couldn't afford then. Market demand is driving up the price.
I still have the matchbox car from when i was a child. my favorite car and you made it in real life. awesome job
Be nice if they’d give a full parts list for the build! Noticed it also had two different sets of wheels during the build.
3 sets if you count the standard one. I even went to the website for the build parts to find out what wheels they ended up with. That's a good looking wheel...
Pressure wash the underside before you started installing all the suspension parts?
Was thinking the same thing along with a quick spray.
I love building car models. Don't have the money to do a real build. I am loving this video. It is giving me reference material for detailing my 1/25th scale muscle cars.
I might be wrong but isn't a steel tank underneath the car against tech inspection in scca racing? I thought they all had to be plastic under car tanks or a fuel cell
It was a Shelby/Ford Owners track day meet, not a pro SCCA event.
Outstanding. Now this is special. It's the AMERICAN DREAM.
Godbless ya
Great episode! I’m curious though as to what this all cost? (Parts/labor) or asked another way, what would you sell it for if you did?
My friends dad bought him a 84 cobra as a teenager ran nice till it started burning oil & smoking, he junked it now we talk about how if we had it now how fun it would be to have it.
That guy with the engine real knows what he's talking about
I got an 87’ gt t top that I want to do a lot to but have no idea where to start. This video gave me some great ideas though. Thanks guys
Great topic growing up my mom work for a bank and they had a repo car that they were allowed to drive around it was 79 mustang had a V-8 for speed duel exhaust and Posie it must’ve been a prototype with someone wasAble to get out of the factory somehow that started my love for hot rods.
Ps it was a notch back
Oh, I had a 86- Fox body...and this is so much better in every possible way.
40:45 scratching the exhaust all over the curve...
i'm not a ford man but i like to watch a good build.... thank you
Couldn't help but notice all those Mud-Dabber nests up under that car...
Luckily they don’t sting (:
Yeah they do, I've been stung before, multiple times...by the same Wasp. And their bite hurts worse than their sting does, and their sting is quite painful. They don't get very big up here in R.I., but down South where I used to go they're the size of frikkin' Fighter Jets, and they don't have a lot of fear either, which is understandable. Nah, I steer clear of 'em unless I have some kind of insecticide on my person...
@@randomprecisionmotors3130 look it up! They are actually non aggressive and highly highly unlikely to stings. mud dauber are part of the wasps family, but Completely different insect to your common aggressive wasp
@@randomprecisionmotors3130 mud daubers are so non aggressive wasps and hornets will often take over their nest without much of a fight, they don’t defend their nest like other aggressive insects. Mud daubers are actually among the more chill flying insects despite looking absolutely terrifying lol
@@user-ol3ug1gb8l Well this one that stung and bit me was about the size of my middle finger, had black double wings, blue-black body and a long skinny thing between it's thorax and it's butt, and it was a Mud Dabber, although I've also been stung by Brown Hornets, Whitefaced Hornets, Yellow Wasps, Yellow Jackets (Sweat Bees), my lucks so lousy I've even been stung by frikkin' Bumble Bees...at speed...on a motorcycle. Weird though, I haven't seen Mud Dabbers here in R.I. in over a decade, and I got a garage full of abandoned nests...they're everywhere...
I never had much of a thing for the Foxbody, I'm more into the 64-73 models, but my younger brother had a 87 Saleen and it was a fun car to cruise in.
the paintjob is like people that buy ripped jeans.
Agreed. Patina? No thanks.
@@ddd228 patina needs to be earned, not man made
@@buurman2635 That must mean my Suzuki Cappuccino has earned more than an early adopter bit coin... Also like bit coin, I'm not sure what's going to be left though... haha. It's so rusty, the body shop that put it on the lift said they've never seen so much metal attached to NOTHING under a car! Guess I'll have to trim back a little bit of the patina "earnings" lol
@@3_Klos1122 lol
It IS a girls car. I loved ripped jeans!
Purdy💚 ! I got my 2020 GT500 9 months ago. Just started a page myself. I admire the work you guys do. Keep it up👍
if I won this car, the first thing I would do is give it a proper paint job
First thing I'd do is trade it for a Buick Grand National.
And a better exhaust system, it's way too low. First good speed bump you hit that sh!t will get taco'd
Probably the coolest fox I've ever seen
I drove this car a few months back. It literally scraped anything and everything because of the exhaust. It was a really cool build but not very street friendly. It had a big time fueling issue keeping and wouldn’t pull through the rpm very well.
Cooi
O9
Besides the exhaust, this is my favorite build that they've done.
It deserves a better paintjob, for being 1 of 1821 ever produced in '81
I hated the paint job glad to see some one else did too !!!
Guess what I bought in '81? A Mustang with the Cobra package, Recaro seats, T-Top, etc. Most beautiful-looking car I ever owned. I ordered it when the turbo 4 was the only engine available but during the build the four was discontinued and they contacted me asking if a V8 would be acceptable. At the time I didn't know it was that wheezer of an engine but, hey, it's a V8. It was fine, I just had to avoid getting drawn into any street races (the car was so beautiful everyone wanted a piece of it).
I liked it better red and without the flares.
The mustang looks badass also runs great.
He slapped that front suspension on there so easily.... Thats the part I need help with the most lol
Born in 1985 I just love 80s cars its in my DNA
I was born in 83 and the foxbody has always been THE car for me. I'm on my 4th, a 5sp 90 gt with Saleen body panels and interior.
I like these full builds. Should include the motor part tho
Yeah, definitely agree! More on the motor would have made it perfect!

That should be the engine build videos. They build a 351 Cleveland and 351 Windsor.
thesimsie94 Rad! Thanks for the links!!
Dude Tommy is a frecking GOD!! Lol...that hood painting was AWESOME...as soon as he finished the crackle....I literally said "WOW. THATS SOO FRECKING COOL!!" Well dun to both of you!! Loved it...but that hood paint cobra...Tommy Sir! I salute you!!!
I like their Accent more than the Car Itself XD
This show is 1 of the best ive discovered
That front LED kit just made it look like a oreilly ricer job.
Thought that track looked familiar. Glad to see you’re part of the tight turn 4 crowd.
Chevy Chevy chevy ....finally a Ford mustang luv it ..great job beautiful job
Great build, badass car. I miss my 85 GT I had when I was a teenager in the late 80's early 90's. It wasn't the fastest thing around, but it was a fun daily.
Tommy, you better stop talking poop about Ford products!!
That guy is a douche. I came up there to audition and he and one of the camera men just rubbed me the wrong way so I turned it down.
I have watched this numerous times. Love this build!!!
🤔🚫🧢🎬💯💪🏼💩📦🦊🛻☁️
Great video. I too love those Fox Body cars... I've honestly got to say the video is a huge help in really seeing the simplicity of many things. Takes the I wonder what out of the proce3ss. Good job.
"...everythings getting replaced anyway, so i broke out the saw!"
*cuts one pipe
lawl
Exhaust killed it for me
I wanna hear more of the exhaust with no music or anyone talking
Me too! Let it sing!
Love the look of that car! And its a bad ass build! Few things i whish u guys showed. True cost of build minus laber. Just parts price. Real price, not your shows discounted price, lol. The car on the dyno so we can hear it and see WHP. So flybys and burnouts and pulls with car. Again so se can hear it and see it. Less music and more car sound from track footage.
You said pump gas but at 11.*:1 with sbf i dont think thats 93 octane motor. E85 im guessing. But no e85 where im at. And i cant afford race gas. Since its a Windsor you can bore/stroke it for more cubes and lower compression for pump 93, hopefully get more power too.
Rofl I saw all that oil under the car and thought “oh that looks just like a modern BMW!” And any British car from the 70/80’s!
