My husband went from not knowing much about cars when this show first came on. now he can rebuild a engine and can do paint and body work. Keep the videos coming guys
*POWERNATION* Please come pick up my 1982 Mustang Fox Body & do the same thing, it's been a dream of mine & my family. Thanks fellas for taking the time to bring us along on the build. GOD Bless.
Yeah!!!!! We have a really small budget for this build of around $250,000 dollars 💸 but with a little bit of elbow grease and a bit of time, everyone can do it. Yeah!!!!! Baby 👶!!!!!!!!!!!
Mechanic newbs. Trust me…the network gives them not much to spend. Usually a sponsor needs to supply some parts for free to advertise. Some spend it out of their pocket.
To each our own. Cover panels to hide whats going to rust in the years ahead. One of these days i can continue with my 78 GMC 3/4 ton. But its always the money to get it done. 😞
I hear you, have a 1972 Chevy waiting for body restoration. Engine was done but it’s been soo long now it’ll need to be done again. No money! Sitten for about 34 years
I'm not sure what GM was thinking when they put their distributors on their engines . But it's nice that Ford put theirs at the front of the engine where you can easily see it and reach it .
As a family friend (who is a chevy fan) once told me, ford and dodge put them in the front because you're always working on them. Chevy put it in the back to hide it since they dont need to be worked on as much
Since you dolts couldn’t understand the reference he was making let me explain. He’s going to turn it into the Vanilla Ice “iced out” fox body of the 90s that was all white everything. He’s probably going to paint the whole car white maybe even do an all white interior like how the original was done. I’m 27 and wasn’t even born when he was relevant and the car existed yet still got what he was saying 😂
@@satansnarwhal And I didn’t need you to explain it to me. And I can’t ever remember for building and all white fox body Mustang. In fact, I can’t remember for building any vehicle all white. It’s going to be hideous. I don’t know who approved this project being painted all white, but they need their head examined. And I found a few fox bodies
@johnginnitti4598 I've had a 351 w with stock Pan blue printed oil pump spinning 7100 rpm and 642 hp and about 10000 miles or about 5 oil changes later the bearings looked new of course that was only 10k miles when I checked and by this point that motor and car is far far away still miss it not sure of the condition now but it lived.
@@TrumpAmerica-2024weird 90% of the tow trucks running these days seem to be ford fleet trucks or internationals. Only ever see snatch trucks in Chevy or dodge and they’re usually on an aforementioned flatbed going to the shop 😂
Hey powernation i have a question for yall so im 17 and im looking to build my 305 chevy thats in my truck and i just want to put a decent choppy cam in it i believe its a roller cam not sure tho (its a 97 305) anneedwould like some recommendations if possible
I would throw that 305 away and build a 350 for the same.price But if you just have to build a 305 with small pistons that very few cylinders head shit get trick flow 175 heads meant for 305s small pistons and a summit 1102 camshaft done deal
I’m sorry but, white… there’s a reason that hotrod magazine called there engine “white trash”. Like some one else said at least you’ll be able to clearly identify ANY leaks but I would have left “the old grey mare” alone and just put some contrast color on it, not a complete respray. All I can think of the build now is “Ice, Ice, Baby” and depending on who you are that HAS NOT aged well nor will that white paint on that car if you actually drive it.
Tommy when are you going to get another guy like you to work with? This guy is another Mark Crist, full of weird ideas. I mean white valve covers? Come on.
Do they know how hot it gets under the hood? Blocking off the fresh air intake for the motor is killing horsepower. Now that they have EFI.. they can just see how hot the air going down the throttle body is. We all know cold air makes more HP. Open element air cleaners look cool but just ROB HP. Im looking how to cold air my 68 Mustang. On a 65 deg day, rolling 45 mph, engine 180 degrees, air in the Holley Sniper 2? 100 deg. That's 40 degrees warmer than outside air, thats a lot less HP
I came here to watch the mustang build. WTH??? Why not stay on script to the title??? I’ll watch , mopar or manual/clutch videos if that’s what I’m interested in.
Yeah...@15:57 you say "Indicating your bellhousing is a crucial step..." But is it??? I swapped my 1991 Ford Mustang LX Convertible from an Automatic to a TKO600 in 2007, and never measured for misalignment. Never had a problem...cough, cough,cough...(just nightmares of what I might be doing to my transmission) It hasn't given me weird noises and doesn't seem hard to shift, but it is a nagging thought in the back of my mind.
Why is it you guys will devote a full show to a Chevrolet build but 15 minutes to a Mustang build. I could care less about the Mopar stuff……do a separate show for that. Mopar looks like it won’t be around for the long haul anyway.
Not really a lot of people have built 408s You dont need EFI or a solid roller to make that kind of HP on pump gas but you will need those heads. TF heads are very good or AFR heads or the bigger Edelbrock victors or Brodix track 1s
340 6 pack you're talking about a engine that's worth more than most classic cars with a clove box packed and stomped tight with hundreds I'm full blooded ford I've had contact with 3 of these engines and Sox and Martin traded a 426 hemi on the stand race ready even swap for 1 this was 1974 or 5

With plenty of mods.

Always worth a view 😊
At least you’ll know when you have an oil leak. My car is painted white and I still did the engine bay in a flat black
This is an absolutely beautiful engine
Pity they couldn't get some blue on the air cleaner for red-white-blue.
I think whenever you were putting those covers over the inner Fender Wells, I think I would have cut all the old metal out to save weight
