@Josh Z The 7-Up edition "sorta flopped"?! They only intended to build 30 for 7-Up to give away during the 1990 NCAA finals to fans that could sink a center court shot in 1 try. When the deal fell through Ford turned the program into the Limited Edition and sold 4,103! More than any other Limited Edition. '92 1/2 Vibrant Red sold 2,019. '93 Vibrant White sold 1,500 and '93 Chrome Yellow sold 1,503. Even sold more than any single year SVO, except '84 which sold 4,507. '85 = 1,951 and '86 = 3,379.
@@foxfordcatguy2283 sorta flopped might have been a little too strong. Still not a grail car. See them going all the time on forums for barely above normal models prices. And in the end of the day it was just another vert with a unique name. No hate here, i think they're okay cars. Would have taken a lot of explaining in this video to mention a car that wasnt faster than normal models.
The Fox Body was getting a little long in the tooth by 1990...but I bought a 92 LX 5.0L 5-speed notchback in 1992 (yes, I still have it. No, it's not Calipso green...it's deep jewel greeeeeen!!!!). I drove it daily and it was a legend. Everyone wanted to race. Everyone wanted to talk about the car. Everyone wanted a ride. Everyone wanted to drive it. A state trooper even pulled me over one time just because he wanted to check the car out. To this day, I can't go anywhere without people saying they love it.

hi from Australia. love the show. keep up the good work. i was spun out that the falcon shown at 3:36 is actually the falcon from Australia. so cool. it is a 73 - 74 XB falcon. these were designed by ford Australia and came in a sedan or coupe. they were very popular then and even more popular today as a classic collectors car. low models had a 200 cube or 250 cube 6 cylinder or you could option with the 302 or 351 Cleveland V8. by the twin light grill and bonnet scoops, it's most likely GS or GT which all had 302 or 351. awesome cars. i had one in my 20's. heavily modified 351, a top loader and a 9 inch diff 4 wheel discs and a cage for passengers to hang onto. lol. it was a monster and i'm still kicking myself 30 years later that i ever let it go. best car i ever owned. it was lumpy and loud and very quick. my father nicknamed it the pig. R.I.P dad. R.I.P the Pig. :(
thanks for the trip down memory lane. my first car was a 91 mustang LX with the hatchback... and the tiny granny 4 banger. got it back in 2006 and literally drove it into the ground for 10 years. one of the pistons decided it was a great idea to blow out the bottom of the block at 3 am on the highway. found one of the mercury 2.3L turbos on craigslist, but it wasn't to be. I miss that car.
As a kid in the 70’s and 80’s we used to see and hear those Foxbody’s all the time, they were a done-a-dozen. If you would have told me decades later they would be hot collectors items I wouldn’t have believed it.

My first car was an '85 lx 3,8L fox. The Defiant was her name. Officially she was a scout vessel. Unofficially, a war ship. And as old as she was, she always defied logic and physics. Had to drive her hard or she wouldn't like you. Miss that foxy lady.

I had a 1986 black exterior with gold accents and a grey interior Saleen in early 90s when I was in high school! It was numbered 29R, not sure if the R did anything, but it needed more oomph! So added a Paxton supercharger and some flowmasters! It was Ok, but needed more gears and possibly an intercooler! Alas I crashed it running from some uniformed gentlemen near Tommy's in Burbank, so I sold it after fixing it up! It was a cool car! This brought back some memories! Thank you DoNuts crew!
My father bought one new back in 1989. Went in to a Ford dealership to buy an F150, but walked out as the owner of a Mustang. Sadly, after a few years, it was stolen and wrecked by two teenage hooligans.
I’ve owned 2 Fox Body Mustangs in my life, an ‘85 GT and a ‘93 LX Notch 5.0. Both great cars. I’d love to buy another one, but good examples are through the roof $$$$$$$.
Love you guys, I think you do a great job with all your videos BUT I feel its important to note that the mustang II (74-78) was not based on the Pinto platform.. in fact the Mustang II had nothing in common with the Pinto. The forgotten Mustang II was the right car for its time. Its important to not that the 1974 mustang II was the second highest selling production mustang to date being on second to the original 65 model. Sure the mustang II wasn't fast but it was certainly popular for its time. Keep up the great work guys. All mustangs rock except for the Mustang E that is a SUV; let the mud slinging begin LOL

Do the S197 - Mustang's return to the classic styling. They deserve love!
Yea,I definitely agree.I got a 14 gt and love it.I think they are the nicest looking and most classic looking they made yet!mine has the old school GT pin strip that run down the lower doors of the car and the old school looking grill with the fog lights in them.I think they will be the most sought after in the future when they become classics do to the very classic and smooth look.
James: *casually wearing a periphery tee*
Me: :o no way lol

I wonder if he liked Juggernaut Alpha more than Omega
BLOOD EAGLE
djenty bois of Donut: Nolan, James(possibly)
I came here to comment this
He should ask them to do a metal cover of pop up up and down headlights
Loved the vid just disappointed there was no mention of the Mercury Capri :(
Tyler McIntosh that’s what I’m saying
I has 1 and its the best fox body ever made
hi from Australia. love the show. keep up the good work. i was spun out that the falcon shown at 3:36 is actually the falcon from Australia. so cool. it is a 73 - 74 XB falcon. these were designed by ford Australia and came in a sedan or coupe. they were very popular then and even more popular today as a classic collectors car. low models had a 200 cube or 250 cube 6 cylinder or you could option with the 302 or 351 Cleveland V8. by the twin light grill and bonnet scoops, it's most likely GS or GT which all had 302 or 351. awesome cars. i had one in my 20's. heavily modified 351, a top loader and a 9 inch diff 4 wheel discs and a cage for passengers to hang onto. lol. it was a monster and i'm still kicking myself 30 years later that i ever let it go. best car i ever owned. it was lumpy and loud and very quick. my father nicknamed it the pig.
Seeing James rocking the Periphery shirt makes me wish I could sub twice.
Ikr?!
Yes. I didn't know he listened, that's awesome.
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Same🤘
There both metal guys I've seen a belphagor shirt on here too
FINALLY a Stang up to speed episode , James PLZZ do a bumper 2 bumper on the new Shelby GT 500....
Or the gt350r
I bought a 07 Ford Mustang a year ago, and I love it.
Not a fox body obviously, but there's just something so fun about driving a Mustang.
Up to speed on motor circuits in general? Maybe?
Like how they were always dirt then moved to tarmac and mention some influential tracks?
This man really supporting periphery, I'm speechless
Probably has to do with how much Misha loves cars and follows donut. They probably talk a bunch
Thank you soo much for this episode. The 5.0 been my dream care since I seen Cain steal one in menace to society
I sold my 1991 LX last summer after 12 years of ownership and full build. Took it from tired and worn to 440 HP at the tires. Still miss that beast
Do one on a trans am❤
10:11 Talking about bringing 5.0's back but the short clip is of a 2.3 Turbo motor lol.
Bringing the 5.0's back in 2020 with environmental issues, hmm. How about no.
xeroxx yet they have the ls?..your comment makes absolutely no sense
Love the show and ther Periphery shirt! One of my favorite bands! Keep up the good work boys! 🤙
As a kid in the 70’s and 80’s we used to see and hear those Foxbody’s all the time, they were a done-a-dozen. If you would have told me decades later they would be hot collectors items I wouldn’t have believed it.
Do one on the “ TERMINATOR SVT COBRA”
Love this dude!!! His energy is off the wall!!
This is now my all-time favorite TH-cam channel I just have to ask as a car enthusiast and fan would you please do an episode featuring the history of the West Coast low rider see thanks in advance love you brother
My first car was an '85 lx 3,8L fox. The Defiant was her name. Officially she was a scout vessel. Unofficially, a war ship. And as old as she was, she always defied logic and physics. Had to drive her hard or she wouldn't like you. Miss that foxy lady.
I LOVE YOU GUYS FOR DOING THIS, OMG FAVOURITE CAR EVER!!!
Love me a Foxbody, I have 3 of 'em! Finishing up my 408 stroker! Can't wait to drop it into my '92 Notch!
BarnStangz
Congratulations. You bought a crate motor online ?
@@EASTCOASTIMPERIAL Naw man, building one out of a 351W block. I've got some vids on my channel if you're interested. It's been a fun project, just taking FAR too long.... Life and all, lol!
@BarnStangz
Hurry up, summer is coming 😎
I’m gonna put one together hopefully.
@@EASTCOASTIMPERIAL I know man! It's been far too long!
@@BarnStangz did you get it in yet? I have a 408 '92 notch so your comment caught my attention. Bought the car from my step dad as a no powertrain shell with a cage and 10inch wide tires in the back with a 9inch. I built the motor from a 351w. I kinda wish it didn't have the cage but it hooks like a monster
If you were haunting Memphis or Nashville streets in the late 80's /early 90's, I'm sure you remember the AXE. A med red '87 that everybody was out to get, including the fuzz.
My dad got an 82 foxbody GT when he was like 22, hes now 50 and its a dedicated drag car, very nice
I owned a Calypso Green notchback in the late 90's I loved it!
I just bought a sticker and I cant wait to get it. I'm so proud of this channel and I love it so much. I actually watched my first video in automotive class. 😁 I'm a huge fan of Nolan and James!!
supersaltinie 23 it's my first ever TH-cam merch
supersaltinie 23 I just bought one too... but doubly the price to ship a damn sticker ?!?
@@jmoney7289 same dawg
@@mikermilla yeah that kinda sux but I mean its donut so...
My daily is a 88 LX 5.0 and it is an amazing car!
...even though its eating up all my money 🙃
I had a 1986 black exterior with gold accents and a grey interior Saleen in early 90s when I was in high school! It was numbered 29R, not sure if the R did anything, but it needed more oomph! So added a Paxton supercharger and some flowmasters! It was Ok, but needed more gears and possibly an intercooler!
Alas I crashed it running from some uniformed gentlemen near Tommy's in Burbank, so I sold it after fixing it up! It was a cool car!
This brought back some memories! Thank you DoNuts crew!
My mother told me the other day her first car was a 5L fox body. That might explain my love for American muscle, it runs in the family
My father bought one new back in 1989. Went in to a Ford dealership to buy an F150, but walked out as the owner of a Mustang. Sadly, after a few years, it was stolen and wrecked by two teenage hooligans.
Please do one of these for every other American Muscle car as well. 80, 90, C5 Corvette, Camaro, etc... Thank you.
Viewing from the Philippines hope you notice me I've been watching you for so long
We see you 👍🏻
I’ve owned 2 Fox Body Mustangs in my life, an ‘85 GT and a ‘93 LX Notch 5.0. Both great cars. I’d love to buy another one, but good examples are through the roof $$$$$$$.
I was very confused and kept waiting for the "Now, back to the show" but it never came. WILL THERE BE A PART TWO? I need to know. Love you
Love you guys, I think you do a great job with all your videos BUT I feel its important to note that the mustang II (74-78) was not based on the Pinto platform.. in fact the Mustang II had nothing in common with the Pinto. The forgotten Mustang II was the right car for its time. Its important to not that the 1974 mustang II was the second highest selling production mustang to date being on second to the original 65 model. Sure the mustang II wasn't fast but it was certainly popular for its time. Keep up the great work guys. All mustangs rock except for the Mustang E that is a SUV; let the mud slinging begin LOL
yeah i hate the mustang E, its literally not even a mustang.
@@rosibalisong4403 it's a Mustang in that it is revolutionary. At least, that is Ford's reasoning and I can understand it.
@@Bebopopotamus How is the Mach E revolutionary? It's an electric crossover lol
I've always liked the looks of the Monroe Handler, Mustang II. It was a serious car and showed what could be done to a 1974-78 Mustang.
thanks for the shout out at the end

Some east asian influence there.
Me too, plus the word “mustang” is spelled wrong
I love those fox bodies. I grew up in the 80s so ofcourse I remember the beast those cars were then. I would love to swap a coyote engine in it and add independent suspension.
THANK YOU FOR THE VID, I OWN A 87 5.0 NOTCH AND LOVE IT, MY DREAM CAR, AGAIN THANKS GUYS FOR THE VID!🤗🤗💪
That is the exact car that my buddy has! He loves driving his manual 5.0. It's so loud and it still gets it. I have a 2004 modded Mustang and I still love his just as much as mine.
i own a 1984 SVO probably the best Mustang to come out the early 80s no doubt. esslinger has many aftermarket parts allowing the little 2.3T to push over 1000hp.... which is nuts
I own three built notchbacks. Foxbody for life
OHHHHHHHHHH IVE BEEEENNNN WAITING FOR THIS FOREVER!!!
