Wow ! Am so excited about this video,I was watching the video at the same time I was also washing my machine,I followed your step it's so helpful thanks alot👏👏👏
Good and simple demo about cleaning a washing machine. I was having problems trying to work out how to get the detergent drawer free, always simple once you're shown how!
Excellent informative video, saved me today when the washer was not draining and the clothes were sopping. There was a bloody colour catcher sheet clogged in the drain filter! 🤦♂
Did the water not gush out when you removed the filter ?? I think I have a similar issue as the machine stops during the cycle and I get multiple blinking lights and wont drain as normal.
Thank you thank you thank you!!! For the longest time I couldn't find the pump filter and thought it was at the back of the machine and been putting off cleaning it! Pretty scared of what I'll find in it now!
thank you for this. I cleaned my dispenser draw by spraying it inside with a mold and mildew spray, the stuff you use for cleaning that black stuff off your bathroom tiles. It cut through that horrible goo in minutes. Then I used a long thin firm bristle brush that I originally bought from Halfords to clean between the spokes of the Alloy Wheels on my BMW. The bristles are on a 'bendy' wire core and it fits into all the nooks and crannies. A bit unorthodox but it worked brilliantly. My wife was thrilled with how clean it was until she washed her Chanel shirt, unfortunately I forgot to rinse out the mold and mildew cleaner. £300 Chanel ladies shirt disintegrated. My ears are still ringing.
Oops. Yes you need to put it on the hottest wash at the end with nothing in, just to flush it out. Most expensive shirt I've got is about £25. Good job though (apart from the Chanel incident).😀
Thanks, I'm hoping this has solved my problem (started randomly beeping mid-wash) but anyway, if not, my machine's just had a spring clean. Good demonstration.
OMg....thank you so much! I just sorted out my Hotpoint washing machine and it took me 10 minutes. The repair man was not going to come for a week and I could not wait that long. It was blocked with plastic sweet wrappers.....I should have known better to expect my son to empty his pockets before putting his clothes in the wash.
Fantastic! That's plenty of money you've saved then, I've heard some callouts are £160 which is insane when you can buy a cheap new washing machine for £199. Glad you go it sorted and hopefully I've gained a new subscriber. 😎
@@LurgsHowToGuides Well I pay £4.79 per month to insure the machine but I could not wait a week for them to come and fix it. All the buttons were flashing and I thought that must mean something and I typed it into youtube and you came up.

Thankyou for sharing Lurgs..my daughter just had baby leaving my 20 year old on his own.. he washed his jeans said door wouldn’t open so he took a crow bar to the door.. I wanted to beat him.. but made him go to the laundromat instead...thank you
It wouldn’t smell if it was maintained properly and serviced washed every month and not doing short washes all the time and not doing lower temperature washes with liquid or gel like a lot of people do otherwise yes it will stink and it will get mouldy I’ve never had this issue because I never do any of these things I just use any powder and most the time I use 40° or 60° but unless very delicate items then yes 30° or 20° but I rarely use that because most garments can go at least 40 and sometimes above but yes most things 40° or 60° And for towels or bedding sometimes do them on a 90° but must be 60° at least because it really helps the machine and also really cleans the towels very well and always remember to do service washes every single month to keep the bacteria away from the machine hope this helps you and other people :)
Lurgs How To Guides thank you for the quick reply! I’ve just had a look and the filter isn’t there 😬 the model is hotpoint Aquarius wf320 - am I right in thinking that it’s at the back?
I have a Hotpoint Washing machine that middle compartment in the centre of the drawer is for water softner such as Calgon. At least that's what I'm led to believe.
Really helped me today. It's been a year since I moved in my current place and decided to clean it out, since there was some water that flowed back after every wash and had a funky smell. Been at it for 2 hours and it's as clean as its going to get after what seems like years of buildup. Yuck.
My washing keeps ending up with brown marks on and I had cleaned it all like you said prior to watching this video, apart from knowing about the filter. Do you think when I attempt to clean the filter later this will solve the brown deposit problem on the washing?
I very much doubt that. The filter pumps away the water so the water had already passed through your laundry. Could be rust in the drum or maybe your dispenser drawer is really dirty? I’ve got a video on how to keep your w machine hygienically fresh, maybe try this first th-cam.com/video/NbOUDxk7Yxw/w-d-xo.html
As long at the filter unit looks ok. Also check the Blades of the motor at the back, if the blades are still intact then yes it's probably just junk that it's caught.
Hi lurgs, Is the wastage pipe at the back of the machine that connects to the pipework under the sink meant to be compleyly clear? As I have some sort of black nozzle in the end of the output end of the pipe... And my washing machine is full of water so I'm suspecting it's this?
Hard to tell as there are lot's of different ways, some connect into the sink wastage under the sink. Best bet is to remove the washing machine drainage hose out of the drainage pipework and video it with your mobile with the LED Light on and try to see if it's blocked up. Or pour some water down it from the kettle and see if it runs away or builds up. Hope you get it sorted.

How did you test the motor\pump? If that propeller\impeller spins freely but won't come on during the wash then it could be a computer fault but most likely the pump motor has broken. But that's a guess.
I’ve got the same washer/dryer and I’m having problems with black marks on my whites. Doesn’t happen all the time. I’ve gave it a thorough cleaning with a special washing machine cleaner, in fact I did it twice and used two different products & also cleaned all the drawer, around the rubber seal. I read on google about oil stains and how it could be my bearings. However I don’t think this is the case as it’s not making any noises and is running perfectly fine. Just occasionally my whites have black/dark marks on them. My question is could it be the filter at the bottom? If I cleaned that out could that solve my problem? Thanks in advance 😊
sarah hornby Not heard of that issue before. Check dispensing drawer and the inside of that, check rubbers and check the stainless steel drum. I doubt it’s the pump filter but it’s worth checking. Maybe try the Hotpoint helpline. Good luck and let me know if you find the fault.
Lurgs thank you for your reply. I’ve already checked all those things prior to me posting my question. I will keep you posted IF I ever get to the bottom of it. I do have one other theory of mine BUT I’m not quite sure if I’m totally wrong. When I’ve sat and thought about the times I can recall it happening it’s always usually when I’m washing my bedding which is once a week and what I tend to do when washing the bedding is put a shed load of softener in as I love getting into my lovely clean sheets and have it smelling amazing. So I don’t know if there is some sort of connection there OR if I’m just grasping at straws because I am absolutely desperate and going out of my mind over these black marks that are driving me bonkers lol.
I don’t suppose you have the same machine now. It’s best to clean the whole machine once a month. Put washing liquid or powder direct into the drum. This will stop any build up of product in the dispenser draw. After every other wash clean around the rubber seal and into the crevice’s to dry and clean up any residue. Last but not least leave the door and dispenser draw open after every wash to dry out the drum, rubber, and dispenser draw, to stop nasty smells, and to stop mould build up. Clean the machine on the outside wiping down with the sugar soap solution. Run a 60-70 degree wash with nothing in the drum to disinfect the machine.
Hi Lurgs I hope you are staying well! I've just cleaned the dispenser tray and jets but the water is still coming out of the tray. The hole where the water drains away in the dispenser compartment is gurgling away. Do you think it could be blocked with powder?
@@LurgsHowToGuides yes that's right. Jets and the tray are all super clean but the water is coming out of the front of the tray (on no. 14, 30 degree setting that i always have it on). Where the water drains away in the tray area the hole was gurgling with water up to the top. I could see it when i removed the tray
David Pope Water from the tray is just fed into the machine via gravity so you have a blockage somewhere. Check the tips in this video to see if it's one of these faults th-cam.com/video/WxNRAMWDY2w/w-d-xo.html
I opened my filter today first time in years. The filter kept draining water non stop like litres of it. I emptied out so much smelly water and the water was still coming out. I removed filter and cleaned the clogged up softener and lint and replaced it and there was no blockages in the filter but water still flooding out the whole time. Do you know what might be the problem?
If it just continues to drain non stop then sounds like the shut off valve is broken. But I expect if it's all just smelly water then you've had a blockage which may have now cleared. Check your drainage pipes at the back as these could be blocked still.
@@LurgsHowToGuides yes I've tried to pull the machine forward but it's kinda stuck in place and is very heavy. The draining pipe looks very long, i installed it myself and hope I did it correctly. I do have some issues with water remaining in machine occasionally if I use a cycle with no spin but it doesn't happen all the time. Have ran a 70°C wash with detergent and white vinegar in detergent draw. There was a big build up of conditioner which may have been problem. Thanks for this video!
@@mysticmaiden2000 Yes they are very heavy. It could be as you've pushed back the machine it has creased or cinked the Drainage hose. See if you can pull it out, check then push back gently and try not to kink the drainage hose.
@@LurgsHowToGuides thanks ill try and get someone to help me move it and check the hose. It is very pushed back and the hose is kind of trapped on the side of the machine. Many thanks for quick replies!
@@LurgsHowToGuides ok after the clean cycle I opened the filter again and lots of clean water came out, it won't stop coming out unless I close it. What does this mean? Is it to do with the shut off valve and how do I sort it out? I've not managed to move the washing machine forward, its been in same position for 8 years and stuck I think.
It could be that whatever is in there is jamming it. Try tightening and untightenjng. Try wiggling the washing machine. You could try a pair of large pliers on it but be very careful as it’s plastic and could break. If it’s never been off it could just be stiff with a build up of dirt on the thread. You could also try a small tap with a hammer onto a small piece of wood against the handle to see if that budges it. Again be careful. Good luck
@@LurgsHowToGuides a strange solution; I have to hold the wastetube aiming upwards either with hand or some tool, so that water dont stream out, has something to do with pressure I think. Its the first time Im encountering something like this... Very odd, because the water have to leak at the end of the program anyway...

"Just take my wife's toothbrush". Wife is now making a video, "How to dispose of your husband's remains under the patio". 🤣
Was nice almost knowing you 🤣
I opened my filter today first time in years.
We have an issue with the conditioner compartment not emptying, it's getting water, but the conditioner just seems to sit under the water. Any ideas?
Seems like a fairly common issue. Could be the conditioner is too thick or the jets on the roof of the dispenser drawer are blocked up
@@LurgsHowToGuides thanks for the reply, I'll give the tray receiver a clean out and jimmy a toothpick in the nozzles and see how that works 👍🏼
@@andyspencer6308 yeh or you can also try thinning out the conditioner a little with water before you put it in.
Please give me a video on how to use this type of washing machine
I would if I had the time. I think you can download manuals for these
Lurgus try explaining to a 20 year old that there is a time release on the door.. it’s not a vid game! Again thank you for sharing..
Kids these days have zero attention spans and can’t wait for anything! I feel your pain. Have a great weekend. 😎
Thank u
My pleasure, glad that I could help.😎
good/10/10
The cleaners I hired could not remove the tray or find the filter! I wish I had seen this earlier
Oops. At least you know now for next time
im having trouble undoing cover on pump of my aqualtis, any help pls
It could be that whatever is in there is jamming it. Try tightening and untightenjng. Try wiggling the washing machine. You could try a pair of large pliers on it but be very careful as it’s plastic and could break. If it’s never been off it could just be stiff with a build up of dirt on the thread. You could also try a small tap with a hammer onto a small piece of wood against the handle to see if that budges it. Again be careful. Good luck
good
😎
What drum does it have?
Not sure what you mean. Its just a standard metal drum
Thank you
Happy to help out 😀.
👍❤️
Happy New Year.
Como puedo secar la ropa y porque siempre pone agua adentro, mi ropa no se seca :(
Maybe it’s not doing the Spin cycle at the end?
Wife's toothbrush 😂😂👌🏻
Yeh she never watches my videos!😀
@@LurgsHowToGuides maybe my husband is doing d same thing with me 🤔
Does it have to be the wifes toothbrush?
No but they seem to clean better than your own! 🤣
Har ett H 20 felmeddelande, water does not stay in machine it instantly leaks out
That’s not good. Hope you get it sorted, not sure why that’s happening
@@LurgsHowToGuides a strange solution; I have to hold the wastetube aiming upwards either with hand or some tool, so that water dont stream out, has something to do with pressure I think. Its the first time Im encountering something like this... Very odd, because the water have to leak at the end of the program anyway...
Yes very odd indeed
My filter won't go back in what do I do
It will do, don’t force it. It slides on then clicks in
