    I certainly appreciate the type of projects you showcase - not for total beginners, but also not "master at work." Having the follow-up video of taking it to the next level is also very nice, I find it really applicable to my own miniatures.

    Hey Chris! I've been painting for ~16 years, and I have most of the basics down. I love your content because it's easy to follow, but still in-depth enough for me to apply the new knowledge. I especially love video's about colour transitions by brush, because I'm awful at those. I always get horrible staining and it doesn't look good :(

    Agree with the help on more intermediate level content, especially just effective tips like you mentioned for good results but not super hard to accomplish either technically or because of the time investment.

    I think this level of tutorial is exactly what we need! Even if everything isn't a master-level technique, very few people are familiar with EVERYTHING you do in this video. So most people can pick up one or two techniques to try out, while this video is still accessible to the general audience.

    I think the transition from “beginner” to “master” is just as an interesting level of painting as any other. As you point out being able to do relatively straightforward techniques together both well and quickly is the basis of successful army painting which is a goal in itself.

    I know you mention early on that an airbrush can do roughly the same technique with a higher speed but I wanted to say thank you for showing something like this from a brush-use perspective. I love my airbrush but I lack a decently vented area/work station to use it so I'm restricted in it's use, this video showcased effects that I've had a lot of trouble doing with a brush. Thanks again.

  • @Dash277
    @Dash277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love the intermediate content. I never find the need to "speed paint" something in 30 minutes, and I'm also likely not spending 20 hours +. Both of those extremes are very rare for me. I want a result I can be proud of in a few hours or so. Although I'm learning to put the mini down when I start to feel like I'm rushing to get it finished. I can usually get a few more hour + sessions in that way.

    I've been experimenting with AP speed paint (I'm not a millionaire youtuber so I can't afford contrast paint).
    It's been great fun, but, I discovered that even when dry, speed pain will soak up tamiya panel liner like tissue paper soaks up ink. Contrast paint might well do the same.
    I destroy hours of my work so you don't have to! 🤣

    Yes!! The intermediate is definitely missing. I've learned a bunch of intermediate stuff by backtracking from advanced content, but it would have been really nice to have some content in that range to learn from.
    I'm still learning to better find the exact right consistency for the application, finding the right ways to move the brush to get the stroke I need or the pigment to land. What it really means to "cover a smaller and smaller area". Etc. All the things that are commonly said but rarely explained.
