Thanks! Very detailed! In my case those hoses to the old waterpump just did not want to get out! No matter how much I wiggled, I ended up shaking the car more than the hose, even with the spring clip taken completely out.
is this for the 2.0 or the 1.8l turbo? also, if i recall on the 1.8 the waterpump and the thermostat are separate parts? can you assemble them together and then install as one whole piece?

Great job, really well explained. With that much detail almost anyone can do it. Really well done, sir.
Thank you!
😊
Great video, thankyou. I have one of these coming into the shop this week. Always nice to do a bit of prep on a job we haven't done before.
No problem man! I think it’ll go smooth, not a bad job
How did it go?
@@rajb7619 Yes it went great thanks, was good to have this visual before starting.
I like to fish the belt on before bolting down pump also.
Hey guys, absolutely remove the intake manifold, takes an extra 10 minutes to take it off but saves massive time in the long run !!!
When doing the job without it being on a hoist this is a real good idea
Don't own an Audi but still watched, doesn't look hard but tedious, thanks for the video. 😊
Thanks, yeah it’s definitely not my favorite water pump job
Is this a secondary water pump? Thought they only had one on the timing belt

This is a 2.0 the 1.8t is very similar job, yup you can put them together and install the as one piece
THANK YOU FOR THS DETAILED VIDEO
I never touched engine I don’t have experience do you think can I do my self eat home to watch this video ?
Is there a special tool needed for the water pump installation?
Nope
What was the torque spec for the water pump that you installed?
I would not torq them unless you have a well working torq wrench.
I broke two bolts off inside the engine not fun getting those out
do i need to replace my timing belt for this project?
Nope
great information
Thanks!
Where were the replacement parts purchased from?
I believe our parts supplier we use often is worldpac. When I’m ordering parts on my own not through the shop I often use fcp euro
@@EuropeanAutoRepair thank you!!
Might be a silly question but doesn't hurt to ask, would it be the same on a 2015 A3?
My guess is yes, can’t say 100%
How did the diagnose end up telling you the pump was the issue?
I believe it was leaking coolant
а как поменять только термостат не снимая помпу
That union pipe is a pain keeps slippin off didn’t know it needed to be replaced
Yeah sometimes those can put up a fight, you’ll get it
Same job on a 2017 Audi A3 non quattro?
I think it’s just about the same
Thanks man
Why do they make something so simple to be such a pain in the ass
