Thank for the overview of the upcoming new MSI Claw - another great video! It does have my interest as well. Myself and others from Handhelds United have brought it into the conversation for the last podcast we did as well. What you point out to look out for is agreeable indeed - great points.
Love your videos as always my man. Told you 2024 has great surprises for us 😉 oh and you know what the podcast 1st episode missed? You guessed it! Seems someone missed doing the OKest thing when arranging for that! Still awesome though, and you cannot miss being in episode 2! Much love ❤
16 Gigs instead of the rumored 32 (which is more than the others and would have set it apart in *some* way), slower memory than the Ally, no VRR and no dolby. Not sure how this competes with the Ally on any point to be honest. Feels like a miss unless there are some surprises.
The design and ergonomics please me more than the Ally. Battery too. Fingerprint is a differential + USBC with DP and non-proprietary thunderbolt. But AMD is still my bet especially with FSR 3. Micros I hope Microsoft is preparing something really surprising in Windows 12 for portable consoles (optimizations, etc.)
This is an INSANELY OK video. I love it! I wish this wasn't an Intel Ally but ehh, let's gooooo. More handhelds, more support. Now we just need Microsoft to pull their heads out of their butts and make a handheld Windows
Dave 2D had the device in hand which was a nice alternative to the Ally. Just hope intel can update their lousy drivers as you're just leaving performance on the table for new games. I am really digging my Win Mini after dialing it in with the new unlocked bios. 💪 It's still the lightest 7" handheld money can buy right now.
Someone has to make a 8.76" screen to stand out from the crowd, too many 7" handhelds 😁 And maybe a dedicated OS. Nice video for us lazy people who want all the infos but don't have the will to search for them.
I think the reason the MSI Claw doesn't have VRR is because FREESYNC technology belongs to AMD, however the MSI Claw is using an intel chip for graphics which cant use FREESYNC.
@@thespectator3312 "Desktop graphics?" The MSI Claw uses an igpu and it's built-in display is not a PC Monitor. This panel on the claw probably requires an AMD GPU in order for vrr/freesync to work
@@Celestial-City Intel's integrated and discrete graphics cards (under the ARC brand) do support VRR technology. However, they lack an official brand name equivalent to FreeSync or G-Sync.
@@philipmanlangitjr.8201 current favorite is the onexfly. Its very comfortable to use, performs well, and feels premium. My next favorite currently would bey legion Go for it's beautiful screen.

No problem man, yeah it’s exciting anytime a new handheld gets announced
Very informative video. Once again, thank you for all your hard work!
Not a problem man! Hoping to learn more this Wednesday

Thanks for the kind words, I'm hoping to join in if I can swing it soon. Been working Sunday nights lately unfortunately
Thanks for the summary man, I’m super excited for this handheld! But no VRR is a bit of a bummer the Ally just looks so smooth with its display.
Not a problem man, it is too bad about the vrr

Yeah the 32gb seemed like a positive, but then it turned out to be 16

Handheld windows would be awesome, maybe one day
Knowing the battery is much bigger and it has thunderbolt 4 performance is really my main concern.
It's a little bit of a mystery. I'm looking forward to benchmarking against the ally

Yeah let's hope they get good driver support for this one. Glad you're enjoying your win mini, it looks pretty cool.
fyi Dave2D has a hands on video and PCWorld
Yeah I saw those pop up as well. I haven't watched dave2d's video yet though
Rog Ally 336 Bios video?
Started the benchmarking
Such a lazy design. At least it has usb4 though. 🤷🏻♂️
Thunderbolt 4 is nice
The microSD slot is similar to the ROG Ally prepare bigger SSDs
I hope not, but you're probably right
inb4 Intel ExtraSS!
i think the placing of the sd cart will get the same problem like the ROG ally, buring the sd card
I hope not, maybe they can learn from asus' mistake
Expectation: big oled screen
Reality: 7 inches ips screen without vrr 😂
Expect nothing and you'll not be disappointed 😂
it been mentioned by some websites that this has vrr.
@@TheEcrus I've seen those, mine is specifically coming from MSi. I learned my lesson from the legion Go

So you are telling me intel arc desktop graphics does not support vrr?😅

how's the battery life compared to rog ally?
I imagine similar, maybe slightly higher of both have the same power draw
hmmm 🤔 i wonder how will it compete against z1 cpu series?
That’s the major question, I’ll be picking one up and testing it out
@@okestgamer of all the handhelds right now, which one's your pick and why?

They should change screen size
Yeah there are a lot of 7" devices. I'm thinking it's the most popular
$799?!?! yea no thanks, for that price it better outperform the Z1 Extreme by a good margin.
Time will tell. I'm looking forward to testing it against
no second type-C port on the bottom, no kickstand....Come on, It's not rocket science 🙄
Would be nice to have a second port for sure
Pass
It's not for everyone, if you have a new handheld already you should be fine
Intel is back baby!! Wait, who am I kidding?. LOL @ Intel drivers.
Let’s pray they have learned a couple of things since then haha
This chipset is just terrible the Intel 7 LOL they are using intel 5 even WORSE.
@@jackykwan2580 it seems like it will have a ultra 5 and ultra 7 option
Yeaaaah no, I'm willing to bet my right arm that this is gonna be another 16gigs of ram joke.
It's seeming like it. Rumours were 32gb, but on their site's news page it says 16
Seems disappointing so not great
Let's hope it surprises us in a good way
@@okestgamer I read a few times on reviews people saying it has vrr it was video cardz
@@Sonsofanarchyrules678 I guess we should know for sure on Wednesday. So far MSi does not have it listed as vrr
