Tested a few different tapes and had no success. Be aware of doing the mod, it's something to experiment with and not a sure fire thing. My new ally after an exchange simply will not work on the right side for Hall effect. Can't form a full circle

Isnt the issue because of the magnets creating a magnetic field? Then if you had a copper shield to reflect it back inside shouldnt it block the interfence from reaching the hall effect trigger?​@okestgamer

Also what exactly is the purpose of the magnet on top?

And do you think that the thickness of the tape is even enough? ​@okestgamer

It’s been a very interesting experience with the Hall effect on the ally. There seems to be a mixed experience depending on your system. I had to exchange my ally for a new one, and the new one has a similar issue as you describe where the joystick just won’t do the full circle. Some have had them work without adding anything to the joysticks as well.

It seems like mine is also a little.less sensitive after as well. Maybe a regular film one is better

You can get a screw extractor, although I haven't had luck with them. Last time that happened I had to drill out the screw

Yeah plus I don't want people to feel forced to click affiliate. It's more for tracking how many clicks a video prompts for my own info.

Yeah, honestly if I had one I would probably use it for my at home work, and then just use the egpu when gaming. Pretty cool little device.

No problem, I was curious about the M1, so those tests scratched the itch I had. It's pretty impressive how well that CPU does when paired with the onexgpu. On its own, the Intel igpu definitely slows it down.

Oh, you might be thinking of the hell divers clip. This wasn't the steam deck, it was the graphics setting on game that was called steam deck (basically settings they recommend for the deck). The onexgpu technically can work on the steam deck if you get a m.2 slot adapter for USB 4 or oculink, but it's not a simple process haha

Yeah it's pretty wild when you think about it. I remember windows 95 and those beast size PCs back then.

No the M1 uses a 100w wall charger, the onexgpu is like a 300w charger.

Yeah I’m glad you enjoy them, I do find the change dramatic, but it’s also just subjective. Did you order the tightest pair, they have like 3 options.

@@okestgamer They were actually available on Amazon Prime with 2 day shipping in the USA but the only variation they offer is the 100gf one so that's what I ended up with. I just compared them with my other controller which is the Gulikit KingKong 2 Pro and wow there's a big difference. The Gulikit feels like the stock Legion Go sticks so I guess I just got used to the new sticks quickly haha. I hope to share this video to anyone else interested in the mod especially on reddit/discord because it really is the best resource for learning to swap out joysticks on the Go as well as your other vids on other handheld stick swaps. Thanks again.
