- A few runs with my Rustler XL-5. It has a Castle Sidewinder 8th Combo, geared 45/76, and running on 5s. I did about 10 runs total, and it was consistently hitting 77-78 mph each pass. I'm pretty sure it was about maxed with this gearing/ voltage/ weight, so I'll need to make some changes.
nice runs. have you gotten any faster since this video was made.
Thanks. Nah man, nothing faster. A few days later after this run I totaled it against a wall, then life got crazy busy and I took a break from the hobby.
niice , does it drift around a lot? seemed pretty straight
+eric chavez Thanks, man. No, it doesn't drift much at all. Tracks pretty straight, and really sticks to the ground.
Do you need adapters to fit the rustler with the Traxxas xo-1's ?????..... I'm sure that I would need to buy them but idk. I'm running the Traxxas anacondas on my rustler vxl right now. I average about 55-67 mph easy. Running 32 pinion 76 spur both 48 pitch. It's fast on a 3S lipo lmfao. Doesn't want to stay down it always wants to wheelie even halfway down. Sometimes I get lucky and it stays down if I'm always starting off slower. I don't have any super modifications done to it or extra weight. Bought it brushed xl-5 and turned it into brushless velinion 3500 which isn't bad it's powerful as fuck. I got another brushed rustler and idk what it's going to be as far as brushless but I'm also thinking of getting a third brushed rustler and doing a 1/8 Mamba on that one. Addicting hobby. too fun lol
Yeah, you need 17mm hex adapters, I'm using the Hot Bodies Aluminum 10mm wide set:

Nice.. You should try mod 1 gears 36 25 or sumn yall certainly hit 100mph i kno cause i have a 2400 kv an it does 90 mph easy.
You had to already be and should be hitting 90-100 or more on 5-6S lipo man I'm surprised that with the high gearing an sidewinder 8th castle 2200 kv brushless system you only hit 77-78 mph..... I thought you could easily pull that off on 3S.....
I think with more room I probably could have. Also I had a hard time getting the wheels to grab at the get-go.
What kind of tires do u have
