Honestly, ASC (I think that's what it's now called) should make anniversary sirens. Basically just refurbished sirens like the hurricane and other successful sirens.
@@BRISTOLFORCE2009 To be fair, there was nothing actually wrong with the Hurricane, it’s just one of the problems cities ended up facing was more maintenance value than the thunderbolt siren would and that the design also plagiarizes the idea of the thunderbolt siren from Federal Signal hence why they got sued for using the squared horn in the early 70s. & again there was nothing totally wrong with it it’s just maintaining it can be a bit challenging as it’s expected to be more frequent than I thunderbolt would but with proper care and maintenance they can last for a long time. They were pretty good sirens for their time it was just the quality of well I just said above and just the reason of having it or a supercharged at the end wasn’t gonna be worth getting sued for at the end stopping the production. A simple oil change in the blower motor of the one in Milwaukee and it’ll be running like a champ again, but I guess ASC doesn’t see it that way. & it’s still functioning as the last working Hurricane in the world. Not very common to see any of those anywhere anymore.
That P-50 likely came from state fair park. When it got struck by lightning, it was replaced with a T-135 AC/DC. Don't know if that P-50 is a parts siren now or what. But im surprised to see it still in tact at ASC.
Hopefully the reason why it's still up and running is because they want to keep the history of it alive, and not replace it in a couple years or less because they found it and think it's too old to keep in service! But then again, on the day the blower went out, siren enthusiasts started panicking because they were worried that there wasn't enough parts to fix it, so they would end up replacing it with a new model of siren. However, they came right on out a few blocks from there and fixed the blower right up! If not swapped it out entirely with a another one, so they do seem to still have parts for it. Maybe even restored parts from previously replaced Hurricane sirens and other models? Could that be a sign? Also, if that's ASC HQs, Then could that mean, when the Black ACA Hurricane from Darian IL was replaced, instead of bringing it to a place to get scrapped, or sending it to a random unknown graveyard in the middle of nowhere to rust away, could it be possible they actually have it? Maybe in a storage facility somewhere? They could have it as well as many other rare sirens in the ACA and ASC families and it hopefully one of these days, it can be restored! But then again, I'm reality, you have to seek the real answers and the real answers won't always be pretty. That's pretty awesome to still have a super rare old siren model still in service in my neighboring state, Wisconsin! There's actually a super rare siren in my state as well, but they took it out of Weather Service and a Whelen model took it's place. However it's still up and installed in the middle of its water tower. In Gibbon MN you can find a silver steel colored Soundmaster 125 which is rare because the remaining rest of them are all yellow, much like the Black hurricane MK compared to the rest of the yellow ones! Which was sad to see it replaced. However, despite the soundmaster not being used in Weather Service, I've heard rumors that it still gets set off from the fire department during fire calls, so it still gets used. However most of the remaining soundmasters Sirens have all worn out to the extent that their Rotators no longer work sadly. There's still fewer Hurricane MK sirens than there are the Sound matter models, but not much more. There's a few spotted, one I know still works, and I forgot its location but you can look it up easily and find it by just searching up the siren, there's one somewhere in Oklahoma but it's unknown whether or not it's still in service or not. 190 isn't given Minnesota and is only putting service for fire calls by the fire department, and then one or maybe a couple more but all of them don't seem to work anymore and are inactive. It's still cool to be living between states with super rare sirens! Alright well enough with the chatter, now back to the main biggest question from before, could the Darien Illinois like hurricane still be around somewhere? And if so, could it have been restored by now? I've just been wondering where it's been since after it's been replaced.

I've only heard a handful of siren tests before, them being Modulators and DSAs playing Evening colours a few times. Only seen one siren in person before and that would be a Carter. Would'nt know much about what happens to rare sirens like that or where they keep them.

ASC replaced it with a new siren, so they brought it to their yard.
