The drop in blower pitch can be due to heating of the bearings, which can be due to misalignment of the end covers. I think but don't know that it might also be due to the pressure release valve being set too high or failing to open, which causes heating of the blower case due to blow-by of pressurized air past the rotors, which is hot air, and and this can also explain why the blower slows down during operation - first because of high pressure (pressurizing the standpipe) then slowly because of the heat generation causing the blower rotors to grow and contact each other. The Milwaukee hurricane probably also hasn't had a gear oil change in decades, and these are necessary for the blower continuing to function.
There was also a square horned one in Centralia IL which someone was able to obtain luckly and supposedly one in Baxter MN that got taken down in 2007 and was found in a scrap yard
5:35 this failure was caused due to a malfunction with the time delay relay in the controller cabinetry The new company in charge of Milwaukee (sheboygan warning systems) has stated they are keeping the hurricane but are installing a T-128 next to or nearby the hurricane to double up the coverage so that if the hurricane stops functioning it won’t effect coverage

@@LoneStarSirenProductionsyou may want to mention that darien wasn’t taken down due to blower issues. We need a documentary of Byron Exelon's (and probably the rest of Exelon in Illinois) old siren system. It's a really big mystery and not much documentary of the system before 2007, except for a few TH-cam descriptions from TommyBNSF's videos about the old comments, but I would like to learn a little more and maybe uncover some rare photos about the old system. This doesn't include the P-15's and P-50's. Also, I am making a map of old remnants of the old Exelon Siren Systems at the time I am commenting this. There is a synth which says there are WS-3000's, and a removed WS-2016 at White Pines State Park. I really hope some mystery's are uncovered if the documentary goes through.
Greenville installed theirs in back 1981. I ran across the one on the highway back in 2020 before it was removed. There's audio on the channel of that particular unit. The date is unknown but I got it from a Facebook page that does storm chasing during the time.

3:00 i think they should keep the the huricane but replace it with a new siren like a 2001-130, but the huricane would be still active just not used for actual emegencys this would keep the legacy of the huricane but would also give the town a more relialbe siren
Someone said that the new company for Milwaukee system will keep this but replace a different siren nearby it so it’s double coverage and if the hurricane stops working they don’t have to worry
How I see it is why not replace the Milwaukee Hurricanes blower with a healthy Thunderbolt blower? Yes that would be some work and some money but why not see if siren enthusiasts would want to pitch in and help? And yes the Thunderbolt is also a very old outdated siren but there are so many of them and its absolutely possible to find a healthy blower somewhere as well as maintain much easier than the Hurricanes blower. This is just my thought really but ever since I watched all of the videos from SirenCon 2023 where they brought an old decommissioned Hurricane as well as a Cyclone for enthusiasts to be able to see and hear in person, and seeing how they used a Thunderbolt blower to make the Hurricane work which it did very well, that's basically where I put two and two together. Its worth a try at least to keep this siren alive and well as long as possible. I'm curious what others think about my idea so please feel free to share what you think. And one more thing I'll say is yes I know it would just be wiser to replace it with a better siren eventually being it is slowly going out but again this is just my personal ideas and thoughts on saving a historical siren.
