Ford F-150 STX 5.0 with Sport appearance is the best value saving you over +$7,500 over an XLT. The XLT options aren't worth the price difference and the STX looks so much better. STX deletes all the chrome except the wheels, even the headlights are smoked.
Only thing the stx has is the best grill. You can get XLT without chrome... Like in the video. If you add all the options that an XLT Fx4 has you might as well get an XLT Fx4
That’s why I have to go with XLT over the STX. I’m willing to pay more for the truck so I can have all the chrome. If ford offered the STX with the chrome package I could go that route but I don’t ever see that happening.

I also have the Torsen, 360 camera, gun safe, under seat storage, a bed mat, and not a lot else that wasn't standard on the Tremor. I like that gauge cluster, which is what I have on the 401a, and I like the stock Tremor seats. I wound up paying almost sticker at 68k, but I've been happier than not so far. I'm averaging about 20 mpg over the last 8-9k miles but that includes a lot of interstate head- and cross-wind driving in west Texas, local driving in NM, and mountain 2-lane driving in CO. This last tank registered 21.4 and calculated 20.9. I had one tank on a CO trip to Denver that was around 23 if I recall correctly. I was going to supercharge it right after I bought it, but the mpg, the fact the local parts folks seemed kinda clueless, and fact it already ran pretty darn good has given me pause. Maybe if I win the lottery tonight, I will buy another one and do that lol. Peace, Love!!

Nice video. Still love our 2015 XLT with the 5.0L V8. My 6 speed is fine, and I like the towing mirrors we have. Nice to see my truck is essentially still being built. Thanks for that Ford! Two thoughts… the speakers are awful so plan to upgrade with help from Crutchfield. Also watch for early problems with the front brakes. For some reason our factory rotors needed turning in 35K miles, but no problems after installing Duralast Gold brake pads from AutoZone.
Love the video! I just purchased this f150 2023. Mine is also area 51 sport, I have 360 camera, spray in bed Iiner. I absolutely love my truck! Sold my 2014 f150 xlt, this is a nice upgrade.
Once I was able to tow with a Diesel which is turbo. Then my company gave me a 3.5 for another run delivery machinary up to North Carolina. I wanted a boosted engine for towing our Travel Trailer. I loved my Mustang GT 5.0 and a fan of the F150 Cayote 5.0 and Ram 5.7. I have used all these trucks. But I can only have one. So I choose Ecoboost ; I trade my truck every 3 yrs anyway. But boost simply cannot replicate that sound / feel you get in a 5.0. 🏁 Oh the those hooks at the on each side of the tail gate are cargo strap holders and can pop the bottle top as well.

Im a huge v8 fan! But with that being said i have a Raptor with the 3.5 now and the torque at low rpm is unbeatable! Especially at higher elevation! I can tow 8k up a 6% grade at 65 and it will just hold 3k rpm. Any NA v8 would be at 4500 plus all the time.
Love my f150 xlt 5.0, hoping next generation gets independent suspension all around like the lightening. That's the only way I'll trade in for a new one.
That’s a $48k truck max. Still want that exact model, but not for $60k. Never. I’ll drive my 21 Tundra until the second coming before I pay $60k for an XLT… that’s platinum price.
I drive a 2024 F 350 and at 430/485 with ten speed it flies. My 2016 was a horrible dog. I don’t know what the 0-60 is but I’ll bet it’s below 7 seconds. Ford figured it out for sure.
The Ford drives night and day better than the Tundra. I have a 17 Tundra and had a very similar truck to this as a rental not long ago. I'm itching to trade!
Sticking with the 3.5, more power and most importantly that power is without any high revving drama. I already owned sports cars in my time and don't want to high rev a truck.
Good review , I’d like to correct a few errors, that Coyote is a 4th generation, not a third . Third gens we’re 18-20 and had 395 hp and a real oil pump. 4th gens have 400 hp ,and a rubber oil pump belt that’s designed to fail, and your statement about it being perfect is wrong because other Fords with rubber oil pump belts that ride in the motor oil have been failing earlier than ford designed them too and taking out the engines when they fail,so it’s not perfect . It does sound amazing, and it definitely rips .Ford is pushing the Roush blower not the whipple , the whipple is better imo but That warranty would be different.
Don’t forget that 1,000 mile break-in period, boys! Great vid and love my ‘23 5.0 with 6.5 bed. What’s the Ford-approved thing you suggested for a horsepower boost? My aging ears heard “wipple.” lol
I have a 2023 Tremor 401A with the Coyote. If you think this sounds good (and it does), you ought to hear the dual catback😁 And I am pretty sure they are both Gen 4 Coyotes.
Great video! I’ve got a 21 XLT with the 5.0L Coyote. I do prefer a few more options along with the 302A high equipment group, Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist, tow technology package, and the FX4 package. I was adamant on finding one with the 5.0 and it absolutely rips. Amazing truck and fun to drive!
It’s kinda confusing, since the new ‘24 Mustang has the new gen 4 dual throttle body coyote, and the 21+ trucks have the gen 4 truck version (single throttle body) of the coyote. I’ve tried to confirm online, but haven’t found the definitive answer.
I know somebody high up in the automotive industry. He didn't give me numbers, but he said "just know that trucks are very very profitable for the manufacture".
Good review. A question. I've been going round and round about getting either the Platinum, Tremor or Raptor. The Platinum it's those luxury all leather seats that I love. Wish I could plop those down into the Raptor with those springs instead of leaf suspension, to maximize smooth and comfort of long highway drives. In any case, can you tell me, other than the purchase cost issue, taking money out of the equation, what advantages if any might a fully loaded XLT offer over the fully loaded Platinum? Any functionality differences, other? Thanks.
What do you mean, than the 4x4? Do you mean compared to the Raptor, or something else? And what upgrades to the suspension specifically do you refer to? Thanks.@@todd7706
Over the plat? No. Each trim level comes with everything the level beneath has, AND more. So at the end of the day a tremor or a plat will always have more functionality than an xlt. Have you considered the tremor 401A package? Basically an xlt version of the tremor. Comes with cloth and such
What’s so bad about the ecoboosts I’ve never owned one but I have had this motor and it’s runs like a beast! I know the ecoboosts have had a lot of problems I have drove a ranger with the 2.3L inline 4 twin scroll and couldn’t believe how quick it was for a 4 cylinder
The problem with the EcoBoost engines is one they're a headache when they break, two they cost a fortune to replace turbos as well as exhaust manifolds and of course Camfasers, and three they lack soul and character of a V8 as well and not to mention that they aren't very reliable at all (especially when you compare to the legendary 4.6L SOHC 2V Modular V8 in the Ford Panther Platform (Ford Crownvic, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car)).
@paulhunter9613 Well if the EcoBoost is so good then howcome Ford used the 6.8L and 7.3L Godzilla V8s in the Super Duty as a base gas engine and not the 3.5L EcoBoost V6?
@@TexasTruckChannelYou two are terrific. Yoose are funny and actually have used you to make educated choices. Keep me laughing…this life is too short.❤
The 5.0 or 302 has been around for decades. The simple tech of naturally asperated engines, durability, and available mods on a proven winner makes it an easy choice for me. If boost is your thing. Boosting this 5.0 is very easy and gives insane results that any v6 falls short of. New tech is good after the kinks are worked out, but matching new tech with a proven 60 year old champ is the smartest thing any company can do. The older blower, cam, intake, and other mods have consistently made the 302 a monster for hp and torque. It is so hard to beat a good old V8. True American muscle should never become a thing of the past. Adding the right tech to these jewels makes them unbeatable all around. I say bring back the 428,429, 460, and 540 for the super duty and apply this tech to them. Just for fun bring back the 390 and 400 for outrageous 1/2 tone trucks.
After years of driving truck offerings from the big 3, Ford is the best. GM with their abyssmal AFM system, Dodge quality in my experience has been mediocre at best. Motors are strong but everything else has been mediocre especially interior aasembly. Also, u-connect is garbage and there are some stupid engineering decisions you just cant fix. Diesel or gasoline, I'm Ford all the way now.
A/C seats are not standard in XLTs, neither are heated seats. Both are respective packages that can be added from the factory or aftermarket. (Aftermarket a/c seats suck tho) 4x4 is standard and 373 is additional option from the factory
I just bought almost the same truck, mine has the 20” and 360 camera. Good review, I’ve had the 2.7,3.5 and now this will be my first 5.0. I bought the 5.0 just because I figure the will be killing it off like the rest of the trucks

However, the trucks are unaffordable now and I will never buy a Ford again. Going to older Toyota Tundras now. Ford raised their prices 50% and is just getting to lower them 10%. No thanks. Saying bye to my Ford family.
2.7 has had belt in oil for 6 years no problems. 3.0 diesel watched several changes at 150k miles on the Kevlar wet belt with no issues so much so they raised the interval to 200k the phaser issue idk but I’d rather deal with that than turbo problems.
@@Trevormaffetone there are few turbo problems with the 2.7, some folks have well over 200k and have yet any issues with turbos. And if there was a need to replace them it is much easier to replace than cam phasers and not that expensive
Affordable for whom?? Trucks used to be working mens vehicles, now all the rich kids driving them leaving us people that actually work for a living having to shell out 20k more just to be able to run a business. For some of us 20k more plus insane interests rates are enough to make ever getting a new or 2 or 3 year old truck an absolute impossibility. Your aging ears are better than ours I am sure. We are referring to the Whipple or Roush supercharger kits. Thanks for watching.
I have a 2023 Tremor 401A with the Coyote. If you think this sounds good (and it does), you ought to hear the dual catback😁 And I am pretty sure they are both Gen 4 Coyotes.
23 is a good year to buy a f150 I just got a xlt 3.5
Corsa sport sounds amazing on a 5.0 2022 also
Great video!
I sure luve mine with the girls attack exhaust uff music to my ears
I believe you two gentlemen are the best at what you do. I appreciate you.❤
Thanks!
I think it’s about all they CAN do…😖
How did you wind up with E85? I just bought the 2024 XLT, V8, but it's not E85.
Not sure. It’s just how this tester was equipped.
Still way too expensive
2011 f150 with the 5.0 same times . Coyote engines are my favorite beside the 6.2
2011 was the first year with the 5.0 in the F-150 some has issues with knocking they installed Belt Tensioner on some .
I have this same truck but its a 22 so no auto start/stop... woo hooo!! Mine is also an 3.5 ecobeast.... I love it!
Great truck!! Enjoy it.
That is 4 th gen coyote
Yes it is, verbal typo on our end 😂
It’s kinda confusing, since the new ‘24 Mustang has the new gen 4 dual throttle body coyote, and the 21+ trucks have the gen 4 truck version (single throttle body) of the coyote. I’ve tried to confirm online, but haven’t found the definitive answer.
@@elbros5325 I know in trucks the first gen was from 2010(I think) to ‘14
Gen 2 ‘15-‘17
Gen 3 ‘18-‘20
Gen 4 ‘21-….
I just found a 2023 at a local dealer in this same trim for $41k before taxes/fees with 17k miles
This like a review two high school kids would produce
Ah thanks. That makes us feel young. Thanks for watching.
Great truck I'll take a all black
Amazing, I want one!
It’s a great lifestyle truck too 😬
Cook Ford Galveston Tx best deal going. You won't beat his prices.
Since when is that truck affordable? Click bait…
Midsized trucks are $55k now.
@@Jacob99174 Sorry dude… There are so many good used trucks out there. Some need fixing up. But, IT’S WORTH IT!😎
Payments or parts, pick your poison
@@willkeating461 I maintain several old vehicles for WAY LESS than what people are paying monthly to own an overpriced POS.😉
I know somebody high up in the automotive industry. He didn't give me numbers, but he said "just know that trucks are very very profitable for the manufacture".
Great review and show 😊 ! I own a 2016 F150 with a 5.0 V8 motor and boy she boogies . 😊
Nice I like this package and I like the sport package and it has to be 5.0
Was the acceleration to 60 in 4HI or 2wheel ??
On new 2023 F150s still in good supply, rebates are as high as $11,000. If you want a 2024, wait until fall when rebates are at its highest.
4:48 rusty rear differential comes standard.
Thanks.
I have a Lariat FX4. I found the FX4 package with upgraded suspension to be smoother on the streets than the 4x4.
Oh there is nothing wrong with Ecoboost units. They all rip! Especially the 3.5. We just appreciate the traditional V8 in a world of turbos.
@@CJColvin you sound as though you believe the internet chatter about those engines, congrats. The v8 has a lot of those issues as well
@paulhunter9613 Well if the EcoBoost is so good then howcome Ford used the 6.8L and 7.3L Godzilla V8s in the Super Duty as a base gas engine and not the 3.5L EcoBoost V6?
@@CJColvin well the ecoboost is a very good engine.
How come ford never used the 5.0 in the super duty as a base engine, just in cars and f150’s?
Have not seen a 2024 with midgate review yet.

Beautiful awesome truck !!
@ 14:32 The shadow from news radio AM 1100 news drone you could see the shadow doing its orbit.
HAHA! We do a run and gun on this show. Drone shadows be darned!
Very cool pickup truck gentlemen. Love the drone.@@TexasTruckChannel
It’s actually a 307 now!
Yep, it’s a 307 now. ^^^
Diesel or gasoline, I'm Ford all the way now.
i want to buy ford f 150 model 2024 we have tow engine V8 5.0letter and v6 3.5 letter i need your advice pleas iam in saudi
Yea! What is the mpg in the city and highway. This has to be a pig on fuel
17 city, 22 hwy. Pretty darn good for a full size 4x4.
I get 16.3 on ours, but it has 35s, on 18 inch Tremor wheels.
@@TexasTruckChannel it’s ok if it ever happens to get those figures
Funny… everyone I know gets that “really hard shift” on low speed decel. Lol
The 302 rips!
What color is that ford f-150?
What about A/C in seats and 373 gears also 4x4 cost!
A/C seats are not standard in XLTs, neither are heated seats. Both are respective packages that can be added from the factory or aftermarket. (Aftermarket a/c seats suck tho) 4x4 is standard and 373 is additional option from the factory
Is that the Nissan GTR motor?
Nope!
XLT’s are out of reach for most of now. It’s August 2024 and Ford still has a massive inventory of 2023’s which should tell you something
I just bought almost the same truck, mine has the 20” and 360 camera. Good review, I’ve had the 2.7,3.5 and now this will be my first 5.0.
I bought the 5.0 just because I figure the will be killing it off like the rest of the trucks
Awesome brother, gotta love the 5.0L Coyote V8 in the F150. I have a 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 160,000 miles on it and still going strong and its a beast and it sounds like a beast with the Borla ATAK exhaust on it as well.
Right on! I also had a 2011 Coyote Lariat with a Gibson axle back. Hell of a truck.
@TexasTruckChannel Awesome brother.
How about an xl base that’s even more affordable
Can't these away right now.
When you take the truck back, ask the dealer why Ford has built 2024s but not shipped a single truck to any dealer in America?
They are hitting lots around us in a week or two.
Cause they are still full of overpriced unsold 2023 models
@@TexasTruckChannel still not here…
@@dustincollins16 unsold 2023 trucks have nothing to do with it. Ford continued to make the 2023 model even past the middle of Dec.
@@filup7419 those are unsold also so I fail to see your point.
Affordable 😂 no new truck is Affordable. They are so far out of my price range when i think about possible getting a "new" truck im looking at 2015 and older
2:27 bro just let’s the window sticker roll around in the dirt
The dude is a clown..
Ive owned 2 F150s and mustang with the coyote. Also have a maverick now. As an automative engineer Ive worked on all 4 vehicles. However, the trucks are unaffordable now and I will never buy a Ford again. Going to older Toyota Tundras now. Ford raised their prices 50% and is just getting to lower them 10%. No thanks. Saying bye to my Ford family.
They ALL raised prices! Bidenomics!!
You can’t run laptops on those power supplies, they are not true sine wave
Don’t care 0-60 do care about towing.
85k for a maxed xlt in Canada right now. Too rich for me. Wife’s Hyundai kona was 30k. Doesn’t seem right.
The 5.0 is notorious for burning oil and just like the eco boosts, has a wet belt that drives the oil pump. Not good
And it has cam phaser issues also, cold start death rattle..among other issues
2.7 has had belt in oil for 6 years no problems. 3.0 diesel watched several changes at 150k miles on the Kevlar wet belt with no issues so much so they raised the interval to 200k the phaser issue idk but I’d rather deal with that than turbo problems.
@@Trevormaffetone there are few turbo problems with the 2.7, some folks have well over 200k and have yet any issues with turbos. And if there was a need to replace them it is much easier to replace than cam phasers and not that expensive
WOW! $60K. They are practically giving them away! Not many people I know could afford this "Poor Boy" model. I can't.
You can an lt trail boss with the new fancy interior for a lot less than that. Fords are pricey. Love their motors though.
Payload?
Affordable for whom?? Trucks used to be working mens vehicles, now all the rich kids driving them leaving us people that actually work for a living having to shell out 20k more just to be able to run a business. For some of us 20k more plus insane interests rates are enough to make ever getting a new or 2 or 3 year old truck an absolute impossibility. When a truck payment is more than a mortgage payment there is a big problem.
