So happy for you and lil buster 🥰. Me and my husband got licensed 3 wks ago got 2 placements calls with 4 opportunities to take kids in but we couldn’t take them because it was out of ‘age ring group’ that we initially signed up for. Our foster children room is set up for 2 young girls with the possibility to swap out 1 bed for a young brother sibling (if that makes sense) and our bedroom can hold a infant to 2 years old. So the placement calls were for all teenage boys 🤦🏽♀️. Second call was for a teenage girl who just had a baby smh. My husband and I discussed it and decided to decline sadly. So we are still waiting for placement.
Wait as long as you need to and don't feel pressure to take every child. Stay in your comfort zone for your first placement (that was the best advice I have gotten)! Excited for you and good luck!

I fully support reunification but if the judge decided that’s not longer the goal, yes I would adopt!
Out of curiosity, did baby boy come with anything, other than what he was wearing, since he was so young? I'm glad you had been preparing all along as you really got no notice in the end! Hope all is going well!
clothy cloth he came with the clothes he had on (which he got at the DCFS office along with a blanket), an opened pack of newborn diapers, and 6 ready made formula bottles. That’s it!
I think I remember you saying you only foster babies. How long do you foster for? Is there a set time frame for each child?
In one of my videos, shot back in 2017, I think that was the goal at the time (I was much younger, emotionally, back then)!
So now, the goal at first is always reunification with the bio family. So I support that goal until a judge says the goal is no longer reunification. There's really no telling how long they'll each be with me, it's case by case. It could be as little as a few days and as long as 18-24 months. It's wild!
