    The bow footage (seen from the bottom up, outside of course) gets me every time..🥺 Such a majestic ship..

    the diode drop is actually verry accurate because the central prop is only turned on for high speed running in the real ship

    Thanks for showing the scaledecks. I liked the ka one, but this is on another level entirely!

      yes i agree, the KA (and to be fair the pontos) decks are very good. Its that typical thing though, once you've seen the Scaledecks its hard to look past them!

    Hi Rob, impressive physics for the tests! Now the little passengers wont be spilling their soup! Interestingly I cruised on a ship several times that made a hell of a shudder when they did an engine change to give them a rest. They caused a load of vibration as they worked their way up to synchronisation! The decking looks great doesn't it. I think I will use a small paint brush rather than ikky fingers!! Have a great break from your circuit plans and enjoy your festive delights and new year. The new year will be PE bits time I guess!! Regards JH ;-D

      Thanks, had a good one in the end. Back to the circuits now!
      Its tricky with the vibrations actually, because i think a good amount of the noise comes from the motor PWM signal so its not all just mechanical vibration. Its one of those things though you could work forever and get incremental improvements

    ScaleDecks are very tempting tho think I’ll have to wait till my stern plating turns up first :) merry Christmas/happy new year look forward to more videos come 2021 :)

    Great to see you going the whole hog from the engineering angle!! You might want to keep an eye on the plastic and rubber components with those oils and greases.. they may be attacked? Ask me how I know.... As for scaledecks.. they are amazing. I've just done a review where I compare them and Pontos and Ka side by side. Merry Xmas Bud!!

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nigel, thanks for the comment, love the engineering side of these projects! Yes you are right about the rubber and plastics getting damaged by the oil, that is something I’d overlooked so I’ll have a think on what to do about that. Thanks for the heads up!
      Just watched your scaledecks review. They are just amazing. The KA and pontos ones were ok I thought, but they do look less good once you’ve seen the quality in the scaledecks!
      Have a good Christmas!

    Holy Shit! I explain in german, I hope you can translate it:
    Das Problem mit dem Antrieb und den Vibrationen liegt einmal in den Motoren mit den Gearboxes. Du brauchst Motoren ohne Getriebe. Das zweite Problem sind die Kuplungen. Die erzeugen auch Geräusche und eben Vibrationen. Die Lösung ist einfach: längere Wellen, Powergrip Kupplungen und direkt angeflanschte Motoren. Damit wird deine Titanic geräuschlos durchs Wasser gleiten. Zum schmieren der Wellen empfehle ich Vaseline. Das hält ewig, und du brauchst keine zusätzlichen Schmierstutzen

    Hi, I have noticed one issue with the Scaledecks they are very translucent, a necessary aspect in order to be scale correct. So whatever your plastic deck colour tends to show through so if you use black on one part of the plastic and not on an adjacent deck part there is a notable difference in shading. All the best yo you for Christmas.

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yeah you are absolutely right. They are very translucent. Personally I have gone for a black paint layer under the decks (and intend to do that with the other decks too). As much as anything that’s to ensure I don’t get light bleed from the LEDs under the decks. But as you say you can sort of tailor the decks colour to what you want. I guess that gives a bit more licence to the individual to choose what tone they want their decks to be!
      All the best too, have a good Christmas

    Does it pollute the water with oil leaking from the shafts as you run it? That does not seem good.

      Ooh KA set comes from here:
      ka-models.co.kr/?product=1200-rms-titanic-dx-pack-for-trumpeter&ckattempt=1
      I got the scaledecks from the Facebook page, but they do have a website, depends if you’re Europe based or US? Because there’s a different website for each

    This is awesome but watching the past test floating videos I've just watched that you achieve the real water floating line without the top decks... I'm concerned about how that line will be below it has to be.. i saw this in a lot of rc models.. all that tech make the model more heavier that it needs to he to have the correct water line. Awesome video I'm planning to get a trumpeter titatic to but i need to find how to import it to colombia and i want also that high detail props can you share links please? Awesome work can't wait for the next videos bro.

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Thanks for your comment.
      Yes you are right the waterline is quite close on some of the float tests. Note that when I took the ship to the lake I added additional lead weights to get her to roughly the right line, because I was a little worried that she might be a bit unstable.
      But yeah your right I think regardless it will be close and possibly the superstructure will add too much weight. The contingency I have planned for that is to remove the third battery which means I’ll only have two on the ship. Obviously that decreased the running time I can expect but needs must!
      The props came from an upgrade kit called Pontos. I’m not sure if it’s still available. I say how you can get the set in a previous video actually (part 11).

    Looks like a loose screw under the main/central motor... gonna drive me crazy to see if you find it.

    looking at your wiring of the motors is troubling at best. the wires are to exposed. you really need to put Electrical Terminals on them.

    • @TheModelBoatGuy
      @TheModelBoatGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, your are correct. I have addressed that now. They arnt on terminals but soldering has been improved and I’ve heat shrunk over the exposed conductor
