Yup. I've had this mod for a few weeks. Been waiting for DF to do a video on it. It's pretty crazy great for 30 series owners, as I was just on the edge of being able to run path tracing at a playable framerate. If you add in the RT optimizer mod, I was getting over 40-60fps with full path tracing enabled at 1440p with DLSS set to balanced.
100%. Unless games start getting real crazy I think I'll be good until like the 6000 series comes out. Or hopefully AMD will get their RT act together.
@FakePerson-nv9uo Homie you need to put nvngx in the .exe directory of your game. So many people try replace the plugin files, don't do this unless you know what your doing. The mod activates using nvidia streamline calls so along as you have the two files in the executable path dlss will execute the nvgnx.dll instructions and load the fsr3 pipeline homie G 😂
@@raknikmikthe flickering isn’t an issue in cyberpunk (I’ve used this mod extensively on a 3080). Cyberpunk’s DLSS frame gen implementation already draws the UI *over* the interpolated frames (so the UI runs at a lower frame rate without artefacts), and that’s exactly how it works with this mod too
Just a note on the hair artifact issues, in Alan Wake 2 at least, that can be fixed. In the game's ini file, you have to set bLensDistortion to false. I don't know what other effects that has, but the game looks perfectly fine to me
strange it doesn't get rid of the hair or light artifacting with RT enabled, that said this cleans up normal Raster performance significantly. On my 3080 in 4k using DLSS Quality and the mod i'm able to hit 135-144Hz the enitre time, I never expected to actually hit my monitor refresh limit with this mod!
Thanks to your video, I tested the mod for a few minutes (only) on the Witcher 3 RT and cyberpunk PT and it's really transformative! With dlss in conjunction with FSR 3, I'm now quite hopeful with running future demanding titles for a few years. Thanks a bunch!
@@unexpectedkAs I don't have the card anymore, but I play at 1440p, and off-hand I remember with the DLSS Quality and the Digital Foundry PC medium settings, I was getting above 80fps, sometimes over 100. Scenes have a high variance of intensity.
I used it with my 3080 12GB to play through AW2 Final Draft. 1440p DLSS quality, high settings and even RT turned on and averaged 100-120 FPS through the entire game. It's was absolutely amazing.
@@thisisab16I played through Alan wake 2 at 4K (DLSS performance, internally the same as 1440p DLSS quality but looks better as there’s more tensor core computation going on) with maxed out path tracing with my 3080 at 60 to 75 fps. It was impressive indeed.
Oh hey Im using this mod for Cyberpunk. What a godsend it is. All the Raytracing settings turned on. Graphics to high. 4k. DLSS perf. And I'm still getting 80 fps on the 3090. Downloading free FPS. Imagine that.
@@valleypandacheck out LukeFZ’s mod :) sadly, amd users miss out on the superiority of DLSS 3 upscaling compared to FSR upscaling (which looks quite a bit worse). But it’s still mostly there. Also, the LukeFZ mod applies frame gen on the whole frame so UI is always screwed up. With the mod for NVIDIA, if games work to fix the ui with DLSS frame gen (as cyberpunk does by drawing the UI over the interpolated frames), it’ll be fixed with fsr3 frame gen too.
Yep. Too bad its dying. This mod came out over a month ago. It was plastered over all the major social media places. EVERY one... "derr fake frame" downvote, off the front page. Biggest news in the past year right here, but nope not if everyone cant have it!
I love Nvidia, i got a RTX 4090 and my son a RTX 3080, but honnestly, they are really so stupid and selfish concerning the gamer communauty. G-Synch, private and exepensive technology for screens, DLSS only for RTX, Frame generation only for RTX 4000 etc.... AMD did Free Synch, FSR for all, and Frame generation trough drivers activation without any implementation in a game under DX 11 or DX 12 technology.... So, thank you AMD for trying at least to make everyone satisisfied, and not sure i will spend my money with the Greens for next years....
DLSS FG is hardware based and the optical flow accelerators just aren't fast or accurate enough on 30 and 20 series. It's also why the quality of DLSS FG is still superior to these mods
Note that you'll have to disable a lot of post processing effects like lens distortion, vignette, chromatic aberration, depth of field and motion blur to remove a lot of the artefacts from frame generation.
@CaptainGameSlayer Lens distortion adds a concave/convex effect to the image simulating the slight curve present in images taken through a real lens. Chromatic aberration separates the color channels the further from the centre of the image you go also simulating a real lens. They're different effects but some games put them both under a single setting.
I have a 2080, and I have to say that this mod is downright magic for me his card. Something like The Witcher 3 runs at about 45 fps with the basic RT settings on. It doesn't feel great to play at that frame rate. With this mod though I get 90+ fps and it feels fantastic. Seriously gives new new life to this aging card. Also tried it with Starfield and Cyberpunk 2077 and it was the same story there, absolutely incredible stuff!
That is great news. The new cyberpunk DLC map kills my 2080. I am going to try this mod out! update: played the game with the mod, and even got to play with path tracing turned on! I have to use dlss ultra performance to get the smoothest gameplay, but works great despite the visual glitches here and there.
I exhibited the frame-time issue in Assassins Creed Odyssey, I was getting a consistent 60fps but it was still stuttering one hour, and the next time I started, it was gone. I spent days trying everything I could think of and every settings combination in game, in drivers, Nvidia Profile inspector, different fps limiters. It drove me nuts. The I disabled Hyperthreading as a last ditch attempt and it fixed it. The stutter was gone and it was gone forever! EDIT: Just to add that over the years in general testing and observance, I think I have only ever seen better performance in a game with Hyperthreading enabled once (Cyberpunk), and even then it was negligible. In my experience it has only ever added stuttering. I think HT is best utilised when rendering video/3d, computational activity in the background etc.
This is heresy. Nvidia said the 30 series were in capable of performing frame generation. And they would never lie to we consumers because they have our best interests at heart.
They said that their DLSS FG implementation didn't meet their standards for pre 4000 series. The probability that the engineers publicly lied about that while not impossible is realistically something like 0,001%.
@@hastesoldat The 30 series GPUs work very well with AMD FSR 3. I like many others believe that Nvidia have some of the best engineers in the business. I have no doubt that they could have implemented frame gen on the 30 series that would have performed better than how FSR 3 currently does on those cards. Look at all their hardware design decisions of everything in the 40 series GPUs below the 4090. They intentionally hamstring many of the mid tier cards, putting minimal VRAM in them. This guarantees that the cards will age poorly over time and many gamers will consider upgrading again in the next generation. I speak from experience, I had a 3080 10Gb. If Nvidia implemented frame gen technology on their older cards it would increase their longevity. That is not something that is in their best interests. Hence why they won't do that. Forced obsolescence is their business model now.
Been using the LukeFZ Mod on Steam Deck which works with any GPU. Of the Multiple games I tested it works perfectly in Withcer 3 , Lords of the Fallen 2 , Robocop Rouge City, Ratchet and Clank. In other games there's UI Ghosting and double image that appears when you pan around. I will be testing more games soon
Thanks to this mod I can play Starfield and Cyberpunk with Ultra quality (also heavily modded Skyrim with ENB), 1440p, on a 2070 super making 70-120 fps, so it's pretty great (there are some ghosting and shadow issues, sometimes the UI flickers when opening/closing it).
@@kyleezmirly9086 If I understand correctly, with the mod you actually use fsr3 instead of dlss when frame gen is on. I put the render scale to 65/70%, in Starfield this would be the Quality preset, in Cyberpunk also Quality. Without the mod I used dlss performance but fps were way lower and it had a lot of artifacts.
100%. I was thinking of getting rid of my 3070, but this mod has made AW2 and Cyberpunk so much more playable (despite the artifacts), that I'm not even considering upgrading anymore.
LukeFZ's FSR 3 mod works with all cards with all upscalers. It works amazing on my 7800xt. It replaces dlss so it handles UI the same way dlss 3 handles it. For lowest input latency on non Nvidia cards you need to cap your fps with the in game limiter so that your GPU usage doesn't go above 95% during gameplay. With Nvidia GPUs you should use reflex to get the lowest input lag. The hair issue is because of post processing effects. In AW2 it can be fixed by turning off lens distortion if I remember correctly. I believe the frame time problem happens when the GPU load increases suddenly by a lot which often happens when panning the camera in Avatar. It happens to me on Avatar with my 7800xt but not on Cyberpunk with the mod. The real interesting part is seeing if consoles will implement FSR 3 frame gen to do 120 fps from 60 fps in single player games. That would be absolutely awesome.
lukes mod is great but it doesn't work well for all games such as horizon zero dawn, because of the way it affects the hud it makes the game unplayable. i know some other games have similar issues till he fine tunes it. still can't thank him enough for the work and effort his put into it.
Facts my guy. It feels as if there's some kind of secrecy regarding the fact that it can run on AMD cards. Maybe its not beneficial to let people know that ray tracing is not a issue anymore. I have my 7800xt aggressively overclocked, so it was already getting similar performance as the 4070 with ray tracing natively and with just quality upscaling, so now with frame generation enabled my average is 112 at 1440p ultra with ultra ray tracing. I don't notice any latency whatsoever. Maybe this is why cyberpunk is taking their time to officially implement it, because we all know that cyberpunk is Nvidias ray tracing poster child.
@@iaviatniab9676 it certainly allows reflex, I know that for sure. And if you use the replace_dlss_fg mode it only replaces the frame gen and you can use any upscaler. In fact, I use xess balanced at 1440p with hardware unboxed settings, rt reflections and high rt lighting and get an average of 120-130 fps with LukeFZ's mod on my 7800xt.
So amazing, I was getting weirded out that my laptop 4070 could beat my full 3090 when frame gen was there and I like frame gen honestly. This is a nice boost for my 3090's lifespan 😄
I tried it in Cyberpunk on my 3080 ti and was really impressed with it. I was one of those people swearing I'd never want to use frame gen but in practice it only added 10ms input latency and was so much smoother I definitely think it's worth it. there were some visual issues that were annoying enough for me to uninstall it but the game is supposed to get official FSR3 support and if we can use DLSS for upscaling coupled with FSR3 for frame gen on non 40-series cards I can't wait for the official implementation.
@@vladvah77 So many games still using FSR 2.1, some still on 1.0. AMD is not doing enough to incentivize devs to upgrade. We shouldn't have to mod this in.
I was absolutely fucking shocked that they didn't cover this. The latency increase makes cyberpunk(and likely other games) unplayable. It makes it feel like an aggressive mouse acceleration. it's such a severe issue that it virtually nullifies the positives of the mod, I don't know why people didn't speak out on this more. . that, and cyberpunk has a lot of shimmering and flickers with this mod, it is not worth the fps gains.
Yeah I found this to be an issue too, even in a 120Hz container. I was playing Elden Ring in a platforming segment and kept missing a lot of jumps because of how intense the input latency was.
@@shotwell25eh playing with a controller it's perfectly fine for me, latency feedback isn't remotely as bad on a gamepad. If you want fast twitchy response with m&k and not just motion fluidity, yeah don't bother with framegen.
@@Godmode_ON24 not how that works at all what. it doesn't matter if you're at 60, 90, 120. it has nothing to do with the GPU utilization being too high. it's the process of frame gen that introduces latency , you can't prevent it.
Been using this mod on my RTX 3080 + 5600X PC for about two months now to play Cyberpunk at 1440p and it has truly been a blessing. Using DLSS on Quality mode. The increase in FPS is amazing. Now easily getting over 100 FPS while driving around. Ray Reconstruction seems to be working fine because reflections look crisp and much clearer than before. Only weird thing I've noticed so far is the screen goes black for a second after pausing the game. Also there's a noticeable glitch that happens at the bottom of the screen (think of a large Windows taskbar) when you're in a car. It's especially bad when it's sunny and you're in 3rd person view behind the car. It's like the image is out of sync. I am more than willing to tolerate those small glitches because the performance uplift is truly astounding. Feels like I got a new GPU for free.
I have been playing Alan Wake 2 Pathtraced using a 3080 + DLSS Perf @ 4k with this mode for over 10h already and it has been an amazing experience so far! This mod basically is a free "GPU upgrade" to a 40series card in framegen titles.
Using low settings a base FPS of around 60-80 ish using a VRR screen. Depends on the are though. New York runs way better than Bright Falls! I only turned on direct PT lighting. More optimal would be 1440p using DLSS Perf if you are sensitive to high input latency. @@ViewtifulVash
How on earth do you find image quality acceptable with both FG and DLSS performance? I had to give up on Alan Wake 2 on my 3080 because even DLSS *quality* at 4K produces so much fizzle and artifacting it was almost unbearable to play, then still struggling to hold 60 FPS at that res + medium settings (no RT) was a dealbreaker. Some games have better implementations that make DLSS quality look acceptable, but DLSS Performance never fails to look like I smeared vaseline all over my screen, even without FG. I mean hell, just in the first couple of minutes of this video where they show comparisons the frame gen side looked absolutely awful in every game. I think a lot of you need to see an optometrist, the world is not supposed to be blurry all the time!
Just installed this on my RTX 3070 Founder's Edition rig and holy fucking shit, it's magic! It literally redeemed the Jedi Survivor PC port for me and I was absolutely astounded how good and smooth it felt! It does still have that frametime/stutter problem like Alex mentioned in his coverage of the game, but with Frame Gen it's much much better and so much easier to tolerate. If Respawn would do one last patch, the port would literally be perfect, but as it stands I can safely proclaim so far that it's 99% percent where it should have been!!!! This mod is LITERALLY game changing!!!!
Wouldn't it have made more sense to put out a direct FSR3 vs DLSS3 comparison before this? The actual quality comparison was the most important and compelling part of the video, and because this is only a mod, it was cut short! Looking forward to a more thorough review of the differences, modded or not.
There are too few actual official fsr3 Games IMO for a more holistic comparison, and a number of the implemntations are apparently Beta. Waiting till more come out -Alex
Using Cyberpunk PT on a 3080 with this mod was great. Unfortunately I'm cpu limited so it wasnt perfect but it was a LOT better than just having no rt and running at dlss q. Had a great time.
how many frame are you getting. Also, why do you think the cpu is limiting you, with frame gen. Because frame gen just double the frames, so it use gpu not cpu. at least that is my understanding.
@@FakePerson-nv9uoFG will (visually) double your fps at best, so being limited by the cpu gives worse results because the number you're trying double is smaller. Even if this wasn't the case, your base fps being lower would mean more input lag, on top of the lag added by FG itself.
I've seen it and It looks absolutely horrendous. Extremely distracting ghosting on everything in motion, nowhere near the quality of this mod. In fact even lossless scaling FG looks better than it with less ghosting.
This is pretty amazing. I used the DLSSTweaks variation of this mod (I had issues with the base version) and I'm very impressed. I averaged 81.20fps in the benchmark on a stock EVGA 3070 with path tracing turned on at 1440p using DLSS Performance (720p internal res). Some of the artifacting around objects is unsightly to me but hey, I'm getting more than a 2x boost in performance with this mod so I'm not going to complain too much!
I have used this on a 2060! I did notice that overal VRAM usage was higher, causing my overal FPS to drop a bit.. but otherwise? It was amazing! I have also used it in Darktide, and didn't mind the UI tearing a lot. And since that game has no anti-cheat, the fact that my old TN panel 144Hz G-Sync monitor (earlier iteration) has the least ghosting on high framerate, I finally found a great cheap way to get higher clarity in motion through these "fake frames". It's amazing going from 60 to 120FPS in some games like that
Using a 3070 worked well for me on: - CP 2077 - Spider-Man / Miles morales Didn’t work so well for me on: - Robocop (have to reset it every few minutes, it kinda loses sync) - Jedi Survivor (steep base FPS drop, many artifacts)

@@MaxIronsThird Wrong, I've been using LukeFZ's FSR3 mod on Starfield, CP2077, The Witcher 3, Control, and Dead Space Remake. They all work as fine as Nukem's mod cause it is replacing it natively. PureDark I have mixed bags on it with that I agree especially with Palworld.
@@MaxIronsThird Sure, when a mod is in continuous development - early releases are broken, but not the case with Starfield as of 0.9 and above - works as if the devs ported it themselves.

It's pretty cool that the mod actually works and really doubles your frames, with a nice frametime if you set it all up correctly. The input lag increase is all right. Now, the ghosting is just unbearable imo
It's been nice to use on Cyberpunk with my 2077, I was playing with just RT reflections at DLSS Balanced but now have the RT Lighting on medium. I went from 40-50 fps to 65-75 fps and input latency feels fine in a title like that.
@@saialexander1873 he wasn't talking about upscaling either, and he's 100% correct. These frame gen mods will never come close to the quality of DLSS FG as DLSS is hardware based.
Nvidia should give DLSS 3 for free for 3000 series cards and even for 2000 series. Thanks to AMD and modders for this frame boost. Its like it was with Gsync and Freesync2 free technology, wich are almost the same and we dont need to pay for hot and noisy gsync monitor chips premium, when Freesync 2 does the same without inbuilt fan module in monitor with more costs.
This mod is a game changer. I just beat Cyberpunk with path tracing enabled on my 3080, and goddamn was it an experience. By the way, there are versions of the mod that enable FSR 3 on older GPUs as well. I tested it with a 1050 ti, and it works. Definitely not recommended, but it does work.
@@3ericw I use 1440p DLSS Quality, and I generally get about 60-80 fps. There will be dips below that in very demanding sections though, especially in the Phantom Liberty DLC.
Nobody is bringing this point up: This mod works 2x better on Ampere than Turing. Whatever hardware resources this uses, Turing is doing it less effectively. There is more ghosting, more artifacts that appear like doubling. Its just as fast, but you will see DLSS3 like results on 3060ti or higher.
Most people seem to be using it on the 30-series, I've tested it extensively on a 2080 Super and the results are far from good. AMD themselves recommend that you only use FG on 30-series and higher, so it's possible that Turing GPUs just don't have enough power.
That Reflex auto-frame capping is just incredible. A bit OTT but I needed to say this.. It's so important for everyone with VRR displays to limit your fps to 116 on a 120hz panel (or 157 fps on a 165hz, etc...) and use Vsync+ Gsync if the game doesn't support Reflex. The latency difference is huge!
The newest Nvidia driver added Ultra Low Latency mode support for DX12 games, so you don't need to cap framerate manually for any DX11/DX12 game, the driver does it automatically (Like Reflex), and latency is significantly better in games that don't support Reflex. It's basically driver level Reflex that now works with DX12, so that Avatar game will have the latency advantages that Reflex brings, for example.
@@TexelGuy Thanks for the info. But I can only see the usual Low Latency Mode that I can set to Ultra. I have this set since forever. Where can I find this new setting, please? Thanks
@@Chasm9 There's no new setting, that old low latency mode setting was updated so it also applies to DX12 games, so if you have it set to Ultra already, it should just work if you have the latest 551.23 drivers. In previous drivers, that setting didn't do anything at all in DX12 games.
12:45 This COULD be stealth micro-shader compilation. I've seen a few games do this and after a extended period of time it goes away. Even the new Enshrouded tells you of the shader compiling in background but its clear even after %100 done its still doing some because the game gets smoother and more playable after a while of playing.
it's already a win for nvidia interms of upscaling and frame gen. Dedicated is just way better than open source. However the availability of fsr 3 makes it great for people as a demo if they want it or not.
Anyone who is just hearing about this now should consider where they get their news from. It was on reddit, but downvoted off for "fake frames" which is just a huge lol, and exactly opposite of what pc gaming hobby is about. This was before Christmas, when I started using the mod. It has been good since hours after it came out (the dev added HDR support quick).
I might try it for phantom liberty. I have a 3070 and although path tracing worked on the main game, it wasnt even close to good enough on phantom liberty, even at 1080p dlss q Hopefully they also optimized phantom liberty though. The performance could get so bad it was totally baffling to me and i didnt even make it through the whole introduction chapter because i was so annoyed with the performance. In the main city i was getting 30-40fps with path tracing even at 1440p balanced. I got 15 fps in phantom liberty with those settings 😂

About the UI issue. PureDark, (DLSS mod author) fixed this issue. Through his mod, you can add DLSS to many other games (gtav for example) which don't have dlss by default. Also you can add Nvidia and AMD fg of course, and there's option for ui fix. Here: /watch?v=5yS_Whcs4Eg is video from the author. And yesterday, he posted on patreon that he got fsr3 fg working for dx11 games, so this is very interesting.
This is great for 20 series owners, but it's huge for 30 series owners. Most games with frame gen are also RT titles and obviously 30 series sits in a far better place for being able to run them at the 55+fps that you really want before enabling frame gen. Of course this is going to go a long way on 20 series as well for when you aren't using RT, and possibly push the 2080 and 2080ti into territory where RT is an option in newer games. All around this should be an instant download for all RTX 20 and 30 series owners, and really make you question when Nvidia will finally give up on the gatekeeping BS to push you towards 40 series and just give us native DLSS3 support. Here's hoping so we don't have to deal with FSR3's caveats of weird frame times. If they don't, at least we have this option instead of Nvidia's typical middle finger.
Jittery frame times are not a subjective issue nor a subjective occurrence. People not perceiving it the same way is irrelevant, because most people still have not played at a higher refresh rate than 30/sometimes 60. But just because they cannot perceive the issue does not mean the issue does not exist and should not even really enter the conversation from a strictly technical standpoint, as everyone I have ever shown a truly locked 120-165 refresh rate experience to without saying anything will always mention how smooth it looks in comparison to how they play the game. Some may report initial headaches or eye strain because they're not accustomed to it -- that's fair, because I can experience the same when playing at low frame rates for a certain period of time -- but the actual smoothness and benefits, and therefore the issues that prevent that, are not up for debate. The technical side of things that can *cause* it, such as different PC configurations, Windows bloat moodiness, driver related issues, etc. are subjective. But the human element is not, and I am tired of people pretending that it is.
Agreed. Everyone in tech media is so afraid of calling things like they are because a lot of people are oblivious and get angry. And it's a real disservice for the audience and hardware/video games consumers.
@@Bluebpy83this is still relevant tho they are artificially limiting frame gen to 4000 series and giving a bunch of bs reasoning as to why its not supported on older gpus
@@Bluebpy83 yes because it's a mod but AMD's frame gen technology when implemented into the game properly is on par with Nvidia's frame gen and DF already made a video about it. DLSS3 is still better than FSR3 upscaling but with frame gen itself there is barely any difference which shows that it's possible. It might not be as effective on older gpu's so instead of a 2x fps boost you might get around 1.6 or 1.7x which is still great.
Rocking with fsr 3 fg in many AAA games with more than 70 fps in 1440p on my rtx 3070 ti laptop, it has really improved my gaming experience by 50 percent
I just installed it and now I can play the game at a locked sixty with better RT and Quality DLSS settings. This is a game changer for the 3000 series.
So this isnt dlss 3.0 frame gen, its fsr frame gen being injected into dlss. Well fsr frame gen without fsr upscaling is a massive improvement in having the screen not look like its made out of wiggling worms, so pairing that with dlss sounds like it can be worthwhile.
I'm guessing that shadow jitter is because of motion vectors, if you can only have one vector per pixel then shadows and other transparent overlays will cause weirdness since only part of the pixel's color will follow the motion. You can see similar issues in smaller games that use TAA or motion blur and don't seem to have set up for special cases, e.g. in-world surfaces displaying changing text having weird color blending going on when the text changes (because that generates no motion) or shadows and lights leaving streaks.
Been using it on Alan Wake 2 for my second playthrough and oh my God the performance boost on my 3080 is insane. More noticeable ghosting for sure but it's honestly so worth it.
The thing with the shadows totally ruins this mod. I was looking forward to using it with my RTX 3080, but now i won't. Danke Alex, deine Videos sind immer Spitzenklasse. 👍 Ich halte einfach weiter durch mit meiner Karte und kaufe mir dann eine 5080 wenn sie hoffentlich Ende des Jahres rauskommt.
@@ClusterShartAll anti aliasing removes details that's literally the point. Even down sampling removes some details from the higher res image used. Different techniques just remove different things.
Been testing this thoroughly for days and yeah it's pretty darn good. OSD frame counters can be buggy, for example when running the benchmark with the built in counter reporting say 60 fps and the Asus GPU Tweak / RTSS showing double that at 120. You can get this to show properly but it depends on where / when you enable the frame gen in the benchmark and what other ray tracing settings you have enabled
Nvidia has 0 excuse now for frame generation being ported to older RTX cards.... I do not mind a latency hit if that means better frame rate..... Nvidia engineers might be gate keeping some way because management told them so
This really gives me hope that frame generation is on its way to becoming a feature that is both GPU agnostic and of comparable or better quality than the current DLSS 3 implementation.

They need to implement frame gen for older gpus. they totally can, we and they both know they can, and it actually helps old gpus for users who cant realistically upgrade right now. Its not like giving it extra performance is gonna deter people from upgrading. everyone has to at some point. My point is: if the tech is out and available, might as well make it a standard since it already is going to be.
I was able to run cyberpunk at high settings with full path tracing enabled with DLSS performance mode and FSR3 framegen on my RTX 2070 at around 50-60 fps in the city centre. I was really impressed with what it coupled with DLSS could achieve on such a comparatively weak GPU (compared to the recommended GPUs for path tracing)

DLSS FG is hardware based and the optical flow accelerators just aren't fast or accurate enough on 30 and 20 series. It's also why the quality of DLSS FG is still superior to these mods
It can. Hackers got it working on a 2070 Super and 3080 months ago. It's literally just a limitation in the driver.
Optical flow accelerators my ass. The GPU cores can be used to perform these calculations.
because they want you to buy the 4000 cards, there is no doubt in my mind that the 3000 series can run dlss3
Not a problem trust me, nothing but distractions from the beautiful game world.
The ghosting in Alan Wake can be fixed. I don't remember how to do it off the top of my head but its just a file you need to edit.

Interesting, I'm gonna do some testing with HT on/off!
why did you not post a link in description?

DF knows this!!!..... They are crooked as all hell sometimes..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lukes mod is great but it doesn't work well for all games such as horizon zero dawn, because of the way it affects the hud it makes the game unplayable. i know some other games have similar issues till he fine tunes it. still can't thank him enough for the work and effort his put into it.
It won't allow you to use DLSS for upscaling and Reflex for latency.
I was one of those people swearing I'd never want to use frame gen but in practice it only added 10ms input latency and was so much smoother I definitely think it's worth it. there were some visual issues that were annoying enough for me to uninstall it but the game is supposed to get official FSR3 support and if we can use DLSS for upscaling coupled with FSR3 for frame gen on non 40-series cards I can't wait for the official implementation.

that, and cyberpunk has a lot of shimmering and flickers with this mod, it is not worth the fps gains.

It's been nice to use on Cyberpunk with my 2077, I was playing with just RT reflections at DLSS Balanced but now have the RT Lighting on medium. I went from 40-50 fps to 65-75 fps and input latency feels fine in a title like that.
I'd rather keep RT to low and put DLSS on quality🤔
Lol and Bryan Catanzaro ran his mouth about how Turing and Ada didn't have good enough optical flow accelerators or some bs.
For a hardware implementation it’s true. There are significant downsides to this software implementation.
@@MrDs7777significant? It's almost look the same, kind of marketing bulshit from Nvidia side
@@saialexander1873 FSR doesn’t look anything like DLSS. Don’t tell me you’re using highly compressed TH-cam video to make an image quality comparison?
@@MrDs7777 I didn't talk about fsr upscaling, only fsr3 frame gen
What res could you do path tracing on? I have a 3080 and am looking to restart cyberpunk since the dlc came out. I play 1440p
@@TexelGuy Ah, alright, thanks! :)
8:33 Bro what was that car turn? 💀💀
I'm glad I read this comment 🤣
This mod is god sent 🥺 I’m trying it on some games and they run so much smoother and higher settings too 😭
Here we go! Let the frame gen wars begin! It’s a win win for gamers.
it's already a win for nvidia interms of upscaling and frame gen. Dedicated is just way better than open source. However the availability of fsr 3 makes it great for people as a demo if they want it or not.
@@deathtoinfidelsdeusvult2184 Won't be long before modders perfect the same or even better results on it making it more than just a "demo".
@@MifuneTH-cam doubt that, look at their fsr 2.1 for example. Still inferior to dlss 2 that even Xess 1.2 looks better.
After a year of people telling DLSS3 sucked because of fake frame... Now it's suddenly amazing because they have access to it...
@@Divinicus1er chip on your shoulder much about it?
Anyone who is just hearing about this now should consider where they get their news from. It was on reddit, but downvoted off for "fake frames" which is just a huge lol, and exactly opposite of what pc gaming hobby is about. This was before Christmas, when I started using the mod. It has been good since hours after it came out (the dev added HDR support quick).
I might try it for phantom liberty. I have a 3070 and although path tracing worked on the main game, it wasnt even close to good enough on phantom liberty, even at 1080p dlss q
Hopefully they also optimized phantom liberty though. The performance could get so bad it was totally baffling to me and i didnt even make it through the whole introduction chapter because i was so annoyed with the performance.
In the main city i was getting 30-40fps with path tracing even at 1440p balanced. I got 15 fps in phantom liberty with those settings 😂
Getting 30fps at 1440p while PATH TRACING game is amazing, you should be grateful you have the end-all solution for lighting running at real time that well...
@@ImGonnaFudgeThatFish you're missing the point. I couldn't run it because phantom liberty ran twice as bad. I would've returned the game before my 2 hours had I known the dlc performance wouldn't even be half the main game. I could've just played it on ps5 instead of buying it twice for path tracing I couldn't even use
rtx 3050 here i love this mod it works great on multiple games.
starfield ultra over 60 fps finally love it
still testing games but this is awesome so far
Wish ppl would actually link to these mods when talking about them -_-
Any update regarding the link to the mod?
I have a 3090 and played through Cyberpunk with path tracing and max settings at 4k. DLSS Performance though and got 60fps for 99% of the playthrough with minor drops to 55 and some in heavy in game cut scenes do drop to high 40's.
Back in my day, we didn't need upscaling and frame generation to play games
Nvidia Be like : FrAmE GeN iS nOt PoSsIbLe oN 20/30 sErIEs
I knew this time would come. Oh thank thy patience
This is not frame gen that Nvidia uses. It's way worse.
They didn't say that.
They said they were not satisfied with the quality/performance of frame gen on the 30 series, when they launched frame gen.
Meanwhile at Nvidia HQ: BAN THESE MODS NOW!!!
How severe is the ghosting. I have the same car
Die you use performance DLSS? and if so, did it look too blurry?

I hate the fake rendering future. I want native rendering with actual anti aliasing back.
wdym by "actual anti aliasing"?
@@poppysilver techniques like MSAA and SSAA, instead of post processing that removes fine detail like TAA and the various upscaling techniques.
Those frametimes 🤮
Wow, this is incredible! Me and my RTX 3080 are really going to enjoy putting this mod to good use.
Another nail in the coffin of the 4000 series cards. This will extend the life of the 3000 series cards 2+ years.
Only for SP games
Hardly. There are many other reasons to get a 4000 series.
I followed a tip to set Vsync in the Nvidia control panel and then cap the framerate.
Fuck this mod bros I ain't buying Nvidia ever again
I just tested on my Lenovo (RTX 3070) and the results are very impressive.

@@oo--7714 Idk about FS3 (I haven't tested it), but I tested DLSS-FG on Deliver us from Mars the other day. It was as fluid as if it was a native frame rate. And it even worked perfectly with VRR and a third party frame rate cap though special K.
If there are issues, they certainly can be resolved. It's not set in stone and it's not a reason to dismiss the concept entirely.
that 3080 with frame gen rocks cyberpunk cranked like my 4080 with no frame gen. alternatively, with frame gen i get around 120 fps.
For the last, inconsistent part.
Check if you have signal RGB or similar if by turning off, you notice any different behaviour 😊
That's cool! Very cool, but... Those games could just add FSR3 to begin with...
Luke mod can be used with amd gpu as well, I m using it on my rx5700. the mod can be configured to apply frame gen at native resolution for max. graphical fidelity in many games. the mod can be configured to eliminate ui flickering completely on games supporting dlss fg too. it's a all win situation for every gpu...
I just use Lossless Scaling Frame Generation. Set my FPS limiter to half of my monitor's refresh rate and enjoy a flawless high refresh rate gaming experience on any given game.
You all should go and support the guy, the software is only $7
It's "game changing." 3080ti now getting 70fps+ on CB2077 on RT: Overdrive. It's good enough to donate.
